My thoughts on Nate Moore leaving The MCU.

So, if you have heard or not, Nate Moore is leaving the MCU. Now, I had a lot of mixed feelings about Nate Moore and some of the things he did for Marvel. Nate is a good producer, but I disagree with him about recasting Black Panther, as you know because it annoyed me when he said it's a mantle, or Chadwick would have wanted us to continue Wakanda, not T'Challa. That really bugged me a lot, and I wouldn't be shocked if he's leaving because maybe Marvel is planning to recast T'Challa in Doomsday or Secret Wars, and he doesn't want that. I understand he lost a friend, but at the same time, Chadwick would have wanted a recast like his brother Derek Boseman said. Still, I don't think that's the reason he's properly just moving on to new things. I did not like it when he said: they didn't want to hire fans of Marvel characters because, as he said, they want to tell a certain story, but we want to tell this story. That's why they hire writers who aren't fans of these characters and that the characters haven't been done, and fans don't like what they have done. It's like what The Witcher did and why Henry Cavil left the series. Let's face it that has bitten Nate Moore in the ass as Deadpool and Wolverine was the wake-up call because it was made by people who love the characters.

I heard from Film Threat that Kevin Feige was cleaning the house, so I think Nate Moore was let go, but he's likely leaving to pursue other things in his career, which is fine because I don't know if he got fired. Alonso did. Still, he's being let go and some fans like myself are actually kind of happy he's gone, but at the same time, he has done a good job with Marvel. I respect that he sees the recast T'Challa movement as good, understands what it is for, and knows how much the fans love Black Panther and want a recast. It's a good interview with him and E-Man. Still, for Nate leaving Marvel, I think it was for the best he made decisions that, in the end, didn't work for the studio. Hiring writers who don't know or understand the character or story they adapt is a bad move. It doesn't work. You must employ writers who respect the source material and care about the character. Why can't we get that? So that's my thoughts on Nate Moore leaving the MCU, and I wish him all the best. I disagree with his past choices in making MCU films after Endgame, but I wish him all the best and hope he has a good career. Let me know what you think?

My thoughts on the Superman Trailer.

So I saw the Superman trailer this morning, and I like it. It feels like Superman, and I love the music score and the characters in the trailer. They look great. My one complaint is you open it with Superman being beaten, and I'm like, really, you don't show him saving a person. I was like, but still seeing Krypto on screen is great because who doesn't love dogs. Also, I like the casting of Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. It's way better than Eisenberg, although he agrees he wasn't a good choice. We see Mr. Terrific, Hawkgirl, Green Lantern/Guy Gardner, and Metamorpho, and they look great. We see some action and a monster in the film, which is pretty cool. David Cronset will do an excellent job as Superman because he will be the face of the DCU and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane is solid casting. I hope this trailer matches the movie when it comes out in July. I think it will beat Fantastic 4 at the box office because James Gunn is a fan of the comics, and unlike Marvel, he's getting writers who are fans of these characters. He will give us a good DC Cinematic Universe, but I disagree with some concerns. Still, I'm excited about this film and hope it delivers.

Carry-On Review

 

My Carry-On Review

So, I saw Carry-On this weekend, and here's my review of it. I like it. This was a terrific movie. It was very intense and a good action/thriller Christmas film. The film is about a young airport security guard named Ethan who is being blackmailed by a mysterious terrorist who plans to blow up a plane. Ethan also wants to keep his pregnant girlfriend, Nora, safe from him. This film was a bit funny because there were some funny moments, like seeing everyone dealing with Airport security. After all, we can all realize how brutal it can be to go through security. 

This film had some intense moments, and Jason Bateman is scary in this film. It's weird to see him make more serious films. He always does comedy. The action scenes are good, and the film's cast all do a great job. This film is the die-hard of this generation. I liked this film a lot and watch it next December. I give it an 8 out of 10. 

Lord of the Rings: War of The Rohirrim Review

 

My Lord of the Rings War of The Rohirrim Review.

So, I saw War of the Rohirrim tonight, and here's my review of it. I liked it. This film is better than Rings of Power; I prefer watching this again and again than Rings of Power. The animation was good, and the designs were really good, faithful to Jackson's films. There are some changes from the story of Helm Hammerhead that some fans won't like, and I get that. I wish there were faithful adaptions, but studios will continually make changes that will either work or won't. The film is about Rohan, the founding of Helms Deep, and the war between Rohan and The Dunlendings. 

Helm Hammerhand was one of the best characters voiced by Brian Cox. He nailed it, and there's one scene with him where I am blown away by his voice acting. Helm was one of the best characters in the film, and even though in the book lore, he is the main character, he is switched for his daughter Hera. 

Hera is the main character of the film. In the books, Helm does have a daughter, but she's never named and doesn't do much in the book. She was to marry Wulf, but that didn't happen because Helm wouldn't see his daughter marry Wulf. Now, Hera is described as headstrong, the fastest rider, and she doesn't want to get married. Hera is an interesting character, and you feel for her. She comes across as a typical character who wants to be free and not get married to any man, like Merida from Brave. Still, I like the character. 

Wulf was the bad guy in the film; honestly, you do feel for him and understand his motivation. Also, you feel bad for him when Hera rejects his marriage because he did love her, and I feel like they should have her love him in return, but she wanted a real marriage that wasn't forced. They should have done that like they were in love, but she wanted to be real and not forced, and he supported that. Until his father is killed by Helm, which makes a tragic love story between them. Wulf was a good villain in this film, driven by hate and revenge.

As I wrote, the voice cast all did a great job. Brian Cox was fantastic as Helm Hammerhand, Gaia Wise was Hera, Luke Pasqualino was Wulf, Lorraine Ashbourne was Eowyn, and Miranda Otto narrated the story.

I might have known these two show up but as orcs. 

Overall, this film was good; I had a good time with it although the runtime was too long. Again, I would rather watch this again than Rings of Power. I give it a 7 out of 10. The film had a good ending. 

Although there are some changes from the book, I don't think they need to be changed. 

Here are some spoilers at the bottom.

The Watcher in this water scene it didn't need to be there like I'm really. It felt forced and didn't need to be there.

Now, in the book Helm's Nephew Frealaf Hilderson, he's the one who kills Wulf, not Hera.

As you can see here, that was a change to Hera killing Wulf instead, but at the same time, it's implied in the books that Hera did die like her father and siblings, although Tolkien never stated if she was dead because the histories never mention what happened to her. However, I think they should have had Frealf kill Wulf and have Hera save the day, but she dies a hero. Frealaf honors his cousin by having the banner of the Shield Maids as a house to honor his cousin for her saving Rohan and the symbol looks like her. They should have done that, but if you liked what they did instead, that's fine. Also, I would have her friend Olwyn release Hera's horse into the fields after her rider's death, symbolizing that she is free like Hera and that her spirit lives as her horse runs for freedom.

Also, I didn't like that we didn't see Helm kill the Dunlendings with his bare fists as if they had cut before we could see the action. The fight at the gate was good, and Helm died like a badass as he did in the books. Many fans would have preferred Helm as the main character, and I get that. I heard at one point he was going to be the protagonist, but they changed that to his daughter. Still it didn't ruin the movie for me I still like the film. I mean they could have had him as the main character and still give his daughter a big role in the film.

My Thoughts on Sony's Spider-Man Cinematic Universe being cancelled and what I think they should have done.

Rip to poorly set up universe. 

So, as we know, Sony's cinematic universe is over! Let's face it: a lot of us didn't like the Venom films. They are okay and fun, but they could be better because you needed to have Spider-Man properly set it up. Also, wait to get me started on Madame Web, Morbius, and the upcoming Kraven. Those films were awful, and I know Kraven isn't out yet, but it will be bad. Even the director is begging people to watch it, and it's been made official that Sony has canceled all their upcoming projects to focus more on Spider-Man projects, which they should have done from the beginning. 

Now Sony is still working on the Spider-Man Noir show coming from Amazon and MGM. It looks promising, and I'm excited about it. This is what Sony should have done when they wanted to create their own cinematic universe. 

In the past, I've always said Sony should just let the MCU handle live-action projects and focus more on animated films because, as I always said, they have that has better potential and can build an amazing animated cinematic universe. That's what they should focus on because these are best Spider-Man films yet.  

What Sony should have done, and it's not too late to do this. Sony needs to rethink everything and scrap all these other projects they had based on Spider-Man's supporting cast, villains, or lesser-known superheroes or villains. 

They should focus on Spider-Men and Spider-Women from across the universe. 

This is what Sony Spider-Man's Cinematic Universe should have focused on different versions of the character and different people, as Spider-Man or Spider-Woman. Like making movies and shows that are building their own universe but also setting up events like a Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland because rumor has it it will be a multiverse film doing battle against Knull. Also, those projects could have set up Secret Wars. It would have been a good setup with all the Spider-Men and Spider-Women participating in the Secret Wars film. 

Here are some Spider-Men and Spider-Women. They should have focus on their universe instead of Kraven, Madame Web, and Morbius. 

Spider-Man 2099 is a more futuristic and Blade Runner-style Spider-Man film about Miguel O'Hara. 

It can be a dark future Sci-Fi film with no heroes until Miguel becomes Spider-Man. 

A Scarlet Spider TV Series is a more grounded and serious Spider-Man project.

Focusing on Kaine Parker as basically the Wolverine of Spider-Men. Scarlet Spider would be hard to adapt, but you must put it into its own universe. The reason I go with Kaine is because Spider-Man Noir in the show will be Ben Reilly. 

A Spider-Woman movie based on Jessica Drew, this film could be set in the MCU.

This character would fit in the MCU rather than its own universe. 

Sony finally makes a Spider-Man 4 with Tobey Maguire and gives him a Logan-like send-off. In Andrew Garfield's Amazing Spider-Man 3, we see him finally get his MJ and introduce Miles Morales as his successor. If you've seen my idea for a Spider-Man 4 film, I would have Tobey's son Ben become the new Spider-Man and play a role in Secret Wars. I would still like to have Tobey and Andrew in Secret Wars, which rumor is that they will be in Secret Wars, either playing the same character or a variant. 

A Miles Morales film is in the works of Sony, but Kevin Fegie has also said that Miles will be in the MCU after Spider-Verse 3. So we are getting Miles, and it's likely there will be two outcomes: he will be in the MCU because Donald Glover did play Aaron, his uncle, or the Miles film will be in its own universe or in Tobey's or Andrew's universe. 

Spider-Ghost and I have heard rumors that Sony wants to make a solo film with the character. I'm down for that but I think an animated film would work for this character seeing how popular she is in the Spider-Verse films. 

Also, a Spider-Girl movie with Mayday Parker would be a good idea. This character could be set in Tobey or Andrew's Universe or in her own universe. I think a Spider-Girl movie would be a passing of the torch like Miles.

A Spider-Punk would work, too, and hey, the character stole the show in Spider-Verse 2. I think an R-rated TV series of Spider-Punk would work. 

Spider-Man India would work, too, as the character is popular among fans and is one of the funniest characters in Spider-Verse 2. 

Even Spider-Ham would work as a film or cartoon series adaption. 

What connects these universes is the Web of Life and Death. 

Madame Web appears as the Nick Fury of this universe, and she puts together this Spider-Verse team to stop Knull with Tom Holland's Spider-Man. This is what they should have done, which would have also gotten people excited. It could have helped lead into Secret Wars and Spider-Man 4 or 5. See what Sony should have done instead. They made a deal with Marvel after all, but if you think Avi Aard was adequately the problem, Phil Lord and Chris Miller should have been head producers because the character of Spider-Man is better than Avi Aard. 

Honestly, this is what their universe should been. It focuses on Spider-Men and Spider-Women from across the Spider-Verse. So yeah, this Sony Spider-Man universe was bound to fail from the beginning because it was poorly planned. Instead of Spider-Man villains or boring characters, they should have focused on Spider-Man, which they are doing with Spider-Man 4, Spider-Man Noir, and Spider-Verse 3, but also they should have adapt other Spider-men and women who aren't Peter Parker like Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Woman, Spider-Girl, Spider-Punk, Spider-Man Noir, and many more. 

Then it would have been proper Spider-Man Cinematic Universe because they focused on Spider-powered people.

My thoughts on Chris Evans Returning to the MCU.

So, if you have yet to hear, Chris Evans, aka Captain America, is returning for Doomsday. Now we all know RDJ is coming back to Dr. Doom for Doomsday, and it looks like Chris is coming back, but will he play Captain America, or is he a playing variant.

Now, I love Chris Evans, and I'm excited to see them return, even though it is a desperate move by Marvel. Again, I would be shocked if Scarlet Johansson came back, too. Many fans believe that Chris will play in the HYDRA Cap.

Now, everyone hates this version of the character. When Cap said Hail Hydra, many fans were angry with Nick Spencer for this. In my eyes, it was taking a piss on Jack Kirby and Joe Simon's graves. This could be  HYDRA Cap, who works with Dr. Doom. Now, my cousin suggested that it might be Red Skull's mind in Captain America's body if they do that. That's totally fine and that was in Captain America Reborn series. 

I can see them adapting that storyline because I prefer that as long as Steve Rogers regains his body and defeats the Red Skull and Dr. Doom. If they are adapting elements of Captain America Reborn I can get behind that idea. As long as it's done right. 

I feel like Doomsday and Secret Wars are set up as the reboot, like we see a new Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, Black Widow, and many more get recast, and if they do that, the MCU needs to take a five-year break and plan out a new universe. 

Or 

Chris could play the MCU Steve Rogers again, and he could get his youth restored. He could be a major character in Secret Wars and maybe the leader of the Avengers again. That's also an idea. I would love to see that happen, but they may not do that. 

So who knows who he will play, whether it's Steve Rogers, we all know, love, or that god-awful HYDRA Cap.

My Top Five Favorite 

Christmas Carol Films

Here are my top five favorite Christmas Carols films for Christmas because this story has been remade many times. It's hard to lose track of how many adaptations of this book are from Charles Dickens. So here are my top five favorite Christmas Carol films, and enjoy a Bah Humbug review.

5. A Christmas Carol 2009 

You can never go wrong with Jim Carrey; he did a great job playing Scoorge in this film. This Christmas Carol film is a motion capture film, and this movie was pretty scary and intense. The film is the same as all Christmas Carols, with some changes. This was a good Christmas film, but it can be a scary heads-up. The voice cast, like Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Robin Wright, Cary Elwes, and the late Bob Hoskins, all do a great job in this film. 

4. A Christmas Carol 1997

Now, this Christmas Carol had Tim Curry as the voice of Scrooge, and it was perfect casting because Tim Curry is excellent. This musical animated film has a great voice cast and fantastic actors like Ed Asner, Whoopi Goldberg, Michael York, and Jodi Benson. This film gives Scoorge a dog, though, which some people find weird as he is a loner, but it doesn't ruin the movie. I immensely enjoyed this film; it has a great voice cast.

3. Mickey's Christmas Carol 1983

This is a short film of A Christmas Carol, but it's a great film because Scoorge McDuck is a great character if you've watched Ducktales. The film also brought back Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie, and Daisy after Walt Disney passed away. This film had great animation, and I have to be honest: when Tiny Tim died in this film, I got a little teary, but we all know that, in the end, he lived. I find this film to be well-made, and I will say it was scary. Especially Scourge was going to be buried alive, but it was all good in the end. The ending of the film was very sweet and heart warming. 

2. The Muppet Christmas Carol 1992

The Muppet Christmas Carol had Michael Caine as Scoorge, and this a great film. Who doesn't love the Muppets and Michael Caine? he does a great job. This film was so much fun to watch, and the musical numbers are astounding. Michael Caine did a great job, and the Muppets are so funny in the film, especially Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat. This is a great Christmas carol adaption for the whole family. 

1. A Christmas Carol 1999

This is my all-time favorite Christmas Carol film, starting with the great Patrick Stewart, aka Professor X. This film is well made and has a fantastic cast. I like this version of Scoorage mainly because it is younger. Since more Scoorage actors are in their 60s or 70s, Patrick was around 59 when he made this film. I watch this Christmas Carol film every year because it is the best Christmas Carol, and it does a better job telling the story of Scrooge. The film ends on a great note, like all these Christmas Carols end, with Scrooge working to be a better man and help his fellow man like we all should on Christmas.
