The Shape of Water Review. (With some spoilers.)
Hey everyone I haven't done a review in while so here is a review. So I saw The Shape of Water last night and here's my review of it..... Love it. This is one of the best works of Guliermo Del Toro I love his work like Hellboy, Hellboy 2, and many other projects he's done. This movie was beautify shot, the make up for the creature was very well done, and the story most of all was amazing. It's not sad as people say it is, I mean there are hard moments to watch but its such amazing film and it was filmed in Canada.
Guillermo Del Toro wrote The Shape of Water in high school.
This is actually better than Beauty and The Beast live action, not animated.
Now the cast Sally Hawkins was amazing as Eliza she did a great job and she gives one of the best performances I've seen this year. The rest the cast were amazing like Richard Jenkins who plays Giles Eliza's gay best friend was a really great character and was basically a father to Eliza, Michael Shannon as the villain Strickland he was great but his character was evil and was basically the real monster, and Octavia Spencer did an amazing job as well but in all honesty everyone was awesome in this movie. Doug Jones who plays the creature is amazing even though the creature didn't speak none the less, Doug Jones is truly the man that can bring monsters to life.
The story is amazing and its just an amazing love story of these two characters who love each other for who they are. Also just so you know there is no Hellboy connection to it, this is not Abe. This story was written when Guillermo Del Toro when he was in high school. This was one of the best movies I've seen this year and I give this movie a solid A+. I'm hoping Guillermo Del Toro wins best original screenplay. Go see it, its a wonderful film and a great romance.
Yeah, also heads up there is a sex scene but its not as bad you think.
