Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Review

My review of one of the greatest Thanksgiving films and one of John Hughs's greatest films in my opinion. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

I love this film it is such a feel good movie and I just enjoy watching it on Thanksgiving. I mean this film has John Candy at his best in the film like this my favourite John Candy film because he steals the show and he's just one of the funniest characters in the movie.
John Candy was a Canadian Icon and this was one of his best films.
I love his quote in the film
"Like your work, Love your wife."
I said that once at a wedding because its true
like your work, love your wife.
A quote from the late Great John Candy.

The film is about a guy named Neal played by Steve Martin who is trying to get back home for Thanksgiving but of course his flight gets delayed, the train breaks down, and his rental car gets taken. This guy has all the bad luck trying to get back home until he meets Del Griffin a shower ring salesman who comes with him on way home. Del drives Neal nuts and he doesn't like him at all for how annoying he is, but Del is a good guy and we've all seen Del's speech. Family Guy parody it if you remember.
Heres the video.
It's such a good speech and the music in the background fits it perfectly.
Power to Believe it's a great song to listen and it's inspiring.

This film is really funny too especially when Del is driving the car and Neal realizes they are on the wrong side of the road. Like this scene was just so funny too. As well in this film there a lot of cameos of actors from previous John Hughes films. To me this is John Hughes best film he made before he went on to make bad films later in his career.
The cast in this film all do a great job like Steve Martin he's really good in this film, Laila Robins whose plays his wife, Dylan Baker, Kevin Bacon, and this film has cameos of actors who've worked with John Hughes in the past.

I find Steve and John worked perfectly together because Neal is uptight and Del is more open and fun. These two work so well together and its shame this was their only film were they worked together.
I mean it's more funny then scary to be honest.
John Candy as the devil lol.

As well this film is one of the few PG 13 films to get away with saying fuck a lot in the film. Which was very rare at the time. This film is just so much fun to watch and it will make you laugh and will make cry too. It's more than a comedy it's also a drama/emotional film.
This film is very emotional too like by the end we learn that Del despite him being happy funny guy he's a tragic figure. We learn that his wife's been dead eight years and he doesn't have a home to go back to. So Neal brings him to his home and spends Thanksgiving with his family because after everything they've been through Del should at least spend thanksgiving for helping Neal get home. The ending is very good and emotional too.
John Candy would have been 70 years old right now and
he be making some really funny films or shows today.

This film to me is the best Thanksgiving film I just love this film and this was John Candy at his best performance before he died. I give this 9 out of 10. Give it watch today on Thanksgiving it's a feel good that make you laugh and cry too.
