Legend of Zelda Movie Fan Cast and Ideas.
(Quick Update)
After the Mario movie's success and the idea of the Nintendo Cinematic Universe in the works, we all want a Legend of Zelda Movie to happen. I hear Illumination is planning to make one after the Mario Bros movie. Still, I don't think they've ever made a serious animated film. However, they could surprise us, and I would go with an animated movie for a Zelda film. I mean, live, the action looks cool, but I think a live-action Zelda movie would be hard unless it's a tv series.
Now if I were to do a Zelda Movie, it would be hard to choose which game to adapt, like which one would be the best one to adapt on screen. I would either choose Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild. If I had to pick, I would go with Ocarina of Time, its most well-known Zelda game.
For a Zelda movie, I think to make a good Zelda movie, you need to split the story into three parts, like Lord of the Rings. The first film covers the child arc, the second covers most of the first three temples in the adult arc, and the third and final film focuses on the last two temples and Ganondorf's castle. I'll explain when I get to my ideas, but here is my fan cast for a Zelda Movie. Also, rumor has it they are talking with Henry Cavil to voice Link in the film.
Henry Cavil as Link and Christian Convery as Young Link
Sophia Turner as Princess Zelda and Brooklynn Prince as Young Princess Zelda
Eric Bana as Ganondorf
McKenna Grace as Saria
Ayo Edebiri as Navi
Ken Watanabe as The Deku Tree Richard Armitage as King Rhoam of Hyrule
Jane Levy as Malon and Ever Anderson as Young Malon
Toby Jones as King Ruto
Zelda Williams as Nabooru
Kate Mulgrew as Kotake and Koume
Amanda Seyfried as Link's Mother, Lady Medilia
Now that's my fan cast for the movie, and here are my ideas.
10. The film should be a three-part animated epic. (Updated this idea)
What would make this film different from the Mario Bros film is that this is a more serious and two-parter film. This film should cover the Child Arc, and the second film would cover the temples of Forest, Fire, and Water. The third and final film covers the Shadow Temple, Spirit Temple, and the final battle against Ganondorf. It would be interesting to see if Illumination could make a more serious animated film, but you know they could, depending on who they get to make it.
9. The film should look at the Mangas and the Spider-Verse movies for inspiration.
The Zelda Mangas are very popular with fans, and I would use those for inspiration to make the movie. For an excellent animated film for adults and kids, I would also look at Spider-Verse because it's one of the best-animated films. The film also did a great job with storytelling and character development. Not to mention. The next Spider-Verse will be a two-parter, so I think the Zelda film needs to be a two-parter film series.
8. Link would talk in the films.
Since I cast Link, yes, Link will talk in the films, but he wouldn't have any cringe dialogue like "Excuse me, Princess." None of that crap, but actual good dialogue, and I would have Link not talk when he's in the dungeons because he tries to focus on getting through the dungeon.
7. Link's parents would be in the film, and I would include elements from Link to a Past, with his parents being Knights of Hyrule.
The movies would show Link's origin and his parents, and I would give the names Arn and Medilia from the Valiant comics. We would see Link's parents finding out their son has the Triforce of Courage, and he will save Hyrule from Ganondorf. Ganondorf kills Link's father in a fight when he learns that his infant son has the Triforce of Courage. Link's mother escapes but is mortally injured, but she saves her son once she gets to the Deku Tree. This is from the manga too. So Link's parents would play a role in the films, and the Hylian shield won't be bought from a store. In the movie, that shield is Link's father, and Impa gives it to him because she knew Link's father and fought alongside him. Impa would tell Link about his parents; he is descended from the royal knights of Hyrule. She passes his father's shield to him to fight against Ganondorf.
6. Ganondorf would be a more serious villain, unlike Bowser and Eggman.
Ganondorf would be the film's villain, but he shouldn't be goofy like Bowser and Eggman. Ganondorf is a more serious villain the audience will love to hate. He's evil and dangerous and will do whatever to get what he wants. Ganondorf's goal is to take the power of the triforce and take over Hyrule in his own image. Well, he's the only male born in the Geurdo tribe since they are all female. I also know Ganondorf plays the piano, but I don't think anyone wants him to sing about how much he loves Zelda. As much as that would be funny. Just don't make Ganondorf a goofy villain. He's a more serious villain.
5. The films would explore the different races and cultures of Hyrule
We would see different races of Hyrule, like the Koriki, Gorons, Zoras, Hylians, and Geurdo tribes. We would learn about their cultures and how they live their everyday lives. As well I would make the lands that all reside look breathtaking. I would go with the designs from Breath of the Wild because those were amazing.
4. How to adapt the dungeons and temples.
Now the temples and dungeons are the most important parts of the Zelda games. Now in a film, they would have to cut down all the exciting dungeons and mini-bosses and find chests getting a new item. I would keep those aspects because Zelda is about exploring and finding rare items. I would have each dungeon keep stuff that needs to be included in the game and cut some stuff, like finding four keys and mini-bosses. The Ocarina of Time manga had to change many of the temples' dungeons like it cut the Shadow Temple out entirely and giving us a sad storyline with the Fire Temple that the dragon Volvagia was Link's pet dragon. They would have to cut a lot for a movie, but if they make it like Indiana Jones, when he explores a temple, we see a lot, but we are at the edge of our seats wondering what traps and treasures Indy will find.
3. The film would have a romance develop between Link and Zelda
Link and Zelda would have a romance in the movies, like in the mangas. Link and Zelda meet in Hyrule Town. They work together to stop Ganondorf from getting the Triforce and the Spiritual Stones. Link and Zelda's romance would be a bittersweet one, though. These two love each other, but sadly they won't get that happy ending together. Don't worry. Link would end up with Malon because she's just as lovely as Zelda.
2. This film could create a bigger universe with Smash Bros and possibly other Zelda timelines.
Besides the idea of having Link and Mario meet in a Smash Bros film. There is the idea of making new Zelda films and shows but set in different timelines. Those timelines are the Child Timeline, the Adult Timeline, and the Hero Failed Timeline. We could see movies or shows based on Major's Mask, Wind Waker, or A Link to the Past. There is also the idea that they could make a Breath of the Wild show or movie. Still, I don't know what Zelda storyline they will adapt for the upcoming film, but whatever storyline they go with first, I'm okay with it because there are more timelines they could adapt for fans who want that. Breath of The Wild would be my second choice to adapt, which would require a lot of work. That's why Ocarina of Time is the best Zelda game to adapt on screen first.
1. The film has to be good and faithful to the Legend of Zelda.
Now making a Zelda film will be tricky for a studio to make because this is regarded as one of the greatest fantasy video games. This is the Lord of the Rings of video games. If they screw this up, it will be bad. I mean, with talks of Illumination wanting to make a film, it's concerning because they've never done a serious animated film. However, since Nintendo was involved with making the Mario Bros film, they had strict rules with Illumination on what they could and couldn't do. So if they are involved, that's a good sign because I think they could help them make a good Zelda film that fans will love. It will be challenging, but getting the right people involved could work well. I would get Peter Jackson and maybe even the Puss in Boots: The Last Wish writers involved too. Just get good writers who are fans of the series.
So that's my Legend of Zelda Animated Movie Fan Cast and Ideas. Are you excited about a Zelda film, or would you prefer a tv series instead? Let me know what you think, and leave a comment.
