JAWS 50th Anniversary Review

Jaws 50th Anniversary Review
To celebrate this horror classic that made everyone afraid to go to the beach or even to the lake. Here is my review of Jaws. I recall watching this film when I was a kid, and let me tell you, like everyone, I was afraid to go into the ocean or even a lake because, imagine, being attacked by a shark. Especially the music, which is suspenseful because you have to get out of the water as fast as you can. The film is set in a small town where a beautiful lady goes skinny dipping, which is on the poster, gets eaten by a shark, and the chief of the police, Martin Brody, played by Roy Harper, wants to close down the beach, but the mayor won't because they are tourists. A few more attacks happen, and a oceanographer named Matt Hooper, played by Richard Dreyfuss, comes to the town, and he tells everyone it's a great white shark, not a tiger shark, because he found a tooth of a great white in a sunken ship. So, eventually, the sheriff, the shark expert, and a fisherman named Quint, played by Robert Shaw, who had hunted sharks, joined the team. The three of them go hunting for the shark, and eventually they kill it by blowing it up with a propane tank.

Fun Fact: I met Richard Dreyfuss at Fan Expo and he's a great guy.

Jaws is one of the most iconic horror classics out there, and it's hard to believe this film is now 50 years old. This is one of Steven Spielberg's first films, and he said making the film was challenging because the shark kept breaking a lot, but overall, the film was a big success. Stephen didn't make the other Jaws films, which was to be expected, to be honest. Jaws should have been a one-and-done film; no need for sequels. Although Jaws 2 was decent, the others were terrible. Jaws is still, without doubt, one of the best shark movies ever made, and I highly recommend it because it's a film you've got to watch once, even though it will scare you to go swimming again, but it's still a great film, and it's very suspenseful too, because sharks are so scary.

I give Jaws 9 out of 10. Go watch it.
