My Top Ten Best Spider-Man Villains.
For Halloween I did top best Batman villains and so here is my list of best Spider-Man villains. So here is my top ten best Spider-Man villains.
The Lizard was one of the first villains of Spider-Man I saw when I was a kid, and he's one of my favorites because he's a villain that Spider-Man needs to save. The Lizard has done some horrible things, but despite that, Connors helped Peter through many events. The Lizard was also great in the Amazing Spider-Man film, though I wish he had had a snout; I get that they were going with Steve Ditko’s design for the character.
Vulture was one of the creepy villains I remember from the animated series that let people recapture their youth. In the comics, he almost killed Spider-Man and, at one point, nearly discovered Peter Parker's identity. I also loved Michael Keaton’s portrayal of the character in Homecoming.
Hobgoblin was one of those mystery villains fans loved, and many fans were not happy when they found out he was Ned Leeds and had recently been killed off. Until Roger Stern fixed that and revealed that the Hobgoblin is actually Roderick Kingsley, that's a good twist. Hobgoblin is a villain I hope we one day see get adapted on screen, whether it's Ned Lee, or Roderick Kingsley, or Jason Macendale.
7. The Scorpion
The Scorpion was a villain created by Jonah Jameson, and despite Scorpion being his fault, Spider-Man didn't rat him out because Peter needs a job. Scorpion was a B-level villain but later went on to become Venom, joined the Thunderbolts, and later became the Sinister Spider-Man for the Dark Avengers. Now he's back as Scorpion, and he got his symboite, calling himself Virus. Scorpion has come a long way to be an A-list villain. Also, Michael Mando did a great job as Scorpion.
6. Kraven the Hunter
Kraven the Hunter: what made him a great villain was the Last Hunt and how, even after he killed himself, Spider-Man felt guilty about not saving him. Kraven always saw Spider-Man as worthy prey, and after he was brought back to life, he didn't want that. He actually begged Spider-Man to kill him, but he wouldn't do it because only Spider-Man can end his life. Kraven would go on to fight Kaine, aka the Scarlet Spider, and he would later die; his clone son would take over the mantle of Kraven the Hunter. Now, I didn’t see the Kraven the Hunter movie, but I’ve been told how bad it is, and honestly, you’re better off just introducing him as a future Spider-Man villain.
5. Carnage
Now Carnage is one of my favorite Marvel villains, and he's Spider-Man's most dangerous enemy. Even Spider-Man struggled to defeat him during the Maximum Carnage storyline. Cletus was one of the most dangerous people to get a symbiote because he's a nutjob, and the suit took over his mind just like that. I remember in New Avengers when Sentry killed him, he eventually returned and even got revenge on Sentry. Carnage has gone on to cause so much carnage in the Marvel Universe, especially during Absolute Carnage and King in Black. Also, I haven’t seen Venom: Let There Be Carnage, but I do think Woody Harrelson does a good job as Carnage.
Morlun was the main villain in both the Other and the Spider-Verse. He is also one of the first villains to kill Spider-Man. In fact, he kills many Spider-Man variants, especially Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends lol. Morlun was at one point rumored to be the villain in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4. Who knows, maybe we will get Morlun as a future Spider-Man villain or Black Panther villain, as he has fought Black Panther in the past.
Doc Ock is one of Spider-Man's villains, and we all know what we did when he took over Spider-Man's body and became Superior Spider-Man. He has also done a lot of bad stuff, but at the same time, in some variants, he was a mentor to Peter, and Peter looked up to him, but sadly he let him down. Doc Ock has gone out of his way to ruin Peter Parker's life, and he, like Norman Osborn and Eddie Brock, knows he is Spider-Man. Alfred Molina owned that role as Doc Ock, and he was one of the best characters in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Everyone loves Venom, like let's face it he is one of Spider-Man's best villains even though the character has become a good guy thanks to Flash Thompson and now we got Mj as Venom which I don't like because the venom suit traumatized her when she first saw him. Venom to me is one of my all-time favorite Marvel villains. To me, Eddie Brock is the best Venom, and I like that he will be Venom again. I loved Tom Hardy’s Venom in the film, and he looked more comic-accurate. Like, say what you will about the films, but no one denies Tom Hardy’s Venom is way better than Topher Grace’s. Also, I hope we see Venom again in a future Spider-Man film or in Secret Wars.
The Green Goblin is to me the greatest Spider-Man villain. He has done horrible things to Peter, and he has messed up Peter's life more times than any Spider-Man villain, like he killed Gwen Stacy, he was the mastermind behind the Clone Saga, he faked Aunt May's death, and of course he took over the superhero registration act and led the Dark Avengers during Dark Reign. Norman Osborn has come a long way in becoming Spider-Man's greatest enemy but also one of the Avengers' biggest enemies. That's why he's the number one best Spider-Man villain, and I don't like how he's now a good guy. Willem Dafoe nailed it as the Green Goblin, and I hope whoever becomes the Green Goblin of the MCU will have an actual Goblin face.
