My Top 8 best Harry Potter films from Weakest to Best.
Harry Potter has been part of everyone's childhood for a long time it holds a special place in hearts. Last week I did a Harry Potter Marathon and now I'm going to rank from weakest to best Harry Potter movies.
Let's Start!
8. Goblet of Fire
Now some of you may think really Goblet of Fire is the weakest film out of them for you. Yeah let me explain I have issues with Goblet of Fire for example I found everyone was just an asshole in this film, like when Dumbledore looses his shit on Harry after they found his name in the Goblet of Fire. In books Dumbledore doesn't do that he asks Harry calmly as parent comforting their child because Harry is scared he has to take part in dangerous tournament and he didn't want to be part of it. Dumbledore was just an asshole as well everyone else. Not to mention, they didn't go in detail what would happen if Harry didn't take part in the Tri Wizard Tournament. Who ever made this Goblet clearly didn't think that "Hey you know what if there are people who are chosen but don't want to take part it anymore because of important reasons, that's fine." Alternate that Goblet and boom Voldemort never would have returned. Now there were some moments in the movie that were cool like the dragons, Mad Eye Moody was really cool (even though that wasn't actually him), effects were great, Voldemort was the best thing in the end, and the other schools like Durmstrang and Beauxbatons were cool as well. To me this my least favourite Harry Potter film but if you disagree with me thats fine.
I also did find Cedric's death pretty sad but we all know he came back to life and got revenge as Batman.
LOL.
7. Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone
The first Harry Potter now I remember seeing this with my family when I was eight years old and I love it. Now that I am older it's more of kids film to me now. Don't get me wrong this was a good movie and everyone was great in this film but now that I look it's just ok to me and the film was intended for kids because are main three are still kids by this film. This film is now 20 years old which amazing make us all feel so old now because we all watched this film as kids.
6. Chamber of Secrets
Chamber of Secrets was really good film and very enjoyable to watch, and it was funny too. Now this is also a sad film too because this was the last Harry Potter movie with Richard Harris as Dumbledore for he sadly died of Hodgkin's disease. He was a great Dumbledore but luckily WB found a good replacement which was Michael Gambon and to be honest I like him a little bit more but we'll get into that later. Also another highlight of this film was Dobby he was one of the best characters in the film and the basikisk was really cool too. Not to mention Harry, Ron, and Hermorie voices cracked too. This was also Christopher Coumbus's last Harry Potter film because he left series because he didn't want to be away from his family.
Now this film was great but it's more of a set up movie. There are some great moments and sad moments like when Dobby dies everyone was crying when that happen even I shed a tear, not to mention Headwing's death too. It's not easy loosing pet I know what it's like to loose a pet. As well Mad Eye Moody's death too. This movie was good over all it's just more of set up movie that's set up epic final film. Great moments are when Peter Petgru dies, learning the story of the three brothers, Ron coming back to help Harry and Hermoine, and Dobby making a stand to the Malfoys saying these "Doby has no master. Doby is a free elf." Doby you always be remembered as a free elf. So yeah this film is more of a set up but hey it's good set up film.
4. Order Of The Phoenix
Order of the Phoenix I find to be one of the funnest Harry Potter films because there so many exciting scenes in this film. One thing I loved was seeing Harry Potter becoming a leader and teaching everyone how to defend themselves against the dark arts because that bitch Umbridge should have been killed in the end. Like all fans I hated Umbridge more than Voldemort and Beatrix. However the actress she did a great job playing that character. Also Fred and George were awesome in the movie especially when they pull their biggest Weasley prank ever. The duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort was awesome, and one scene I like the most was when Harry is training with Snape to prevent Voldemort from seeing Harry's mind. Eventually he gets into a fight with Snape and uses the spell that Snape has been using on him to see inside in his mind and sees his memories. Harry sees that his father James who always looked up to was a bully. That was a good scene I do kind of wish they dive into that more in the film and show how Harry deals with that revelation of his father being a bully. I still love this film despite the fact that Sirus Black dies and he's one of my favourite characters.
3. Half Blood Prince
The Half Blood Prince was one the darkest Harry Potter films it set ups Deathly Hallows perfectly. I love how this film shows more of Voldemort's origin and he's got really good villain origin but you might want to read the books to further explain his origins. Also Professor Slugworth was really funny character. This film is also the film were Snape kills Dumbledore now that moments shocked book readers and those who didn't read the books it was shocker. The scene were everyone mourns Dumbledore is such an emotional scene but it's also inspiring when they raise their wands to solute their fallen headmaster. Half Blood Prince was truly a great film and defiantly one of the best Harry Potter films.
2. Deathly Hallows Part 2
The final Harry Potter film and some of you maybe thinking why is this one second it was the epic finale. Let me explain, I love this it was epic as hell full of great scenes, exciting moments, emotional moments and satisfying moments. It's just to me this isn't best one out of all them. The exiciting moments is when Hogwarts prepares for battle against Voldemort and fighting between Harry and Voldemort is awesome. One of the best scenes is with Neville Longbottom's speech and that speech was awesome and inspiring. The satisfying moment was seeing Belltrix die, I hate that crazy bitch and seeing her die was just satisfying, lesson to learn don't mess with Molly Weaselly is real tough old witch. I find the most emotional scene was when Fred Wesaley died like it really got to me. One scene I also I loved is when Harry sees Snape's memories and sees that he was actually a good man and that he truly loved Lilly Potter. Snape like Harry described was the bravest man who ever lived and that he always looked out for Harry for Lilly's sake. This film was great and a great conclusion to this series. It's not the best one though to me.
1. Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban, to me is the best Harry Potter film to date. Reasons why it is, this film was the game changer in the franchise. After Chris Columbus drop out of the film Alfonso Cuaron took over and he changed everything. Alfonso made the film more darker, scarier, he modernize the characters, he gave are main lead actors a lot of depth, he made the film take more an adult turn while still keeping somethings for kids, and he gave us a film with one of the best cinematography I've seen on film.
All the characters were great, Michael Gambon who took over as Dumbledore he did a great job in this film until Goblet of Fire ruined that, However I liked how youthful he sounded because he was 64 when he took the role I felt he had more energy in him then Richard did and I liked the feel and style of this film because its becoming more grown up.
This is also a third film in a franchise that was better than the first two and that's rare because the third is usually the worse. The Dementors were scary as hell when I first saw this film like when I saw this on my eleventh birthday I remember me and my friends were scared of the dementors. Interesting fact this film is what saved Gary Oldman's career like he had no acting jobs and he was offered the role of Sirius Black. If he hadn't accept the role he wouldn't be were he is right now. I just love this film a lot and it's just to me the best one out of all them. Heads up though you can not get this song out of you're head but hey its good to listen to for Halloween. So to me Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban is the best Harry Potter Movie!
Seeing Hermione punch Draco was brilliant.
Long over due.
That's my ranking of the Harry Potter films and if you're wondering why I don't have Fantastic Beasts thats because it's own separate story with no Harry, Ron, or Hermione but in the future I will do ranking of that film series but maybe not.
Let me know what you think of my ranking and have a good day.
