My Idea for a King Arthur TV Series

(Google Image)
My idea for a King Arthur TV Series.

King Arthur is a famous story we have known for years, there have been so many different versions of the story some that were great and some that were crap. So here is my idea for a King Arthur TV series oh and I would put this on a streaming network. Streaming networks are the best solution and I'm just suggesting an idea for an Arthur TV Series with a new take on it.
(Google Image)
We had King Arthur Legend of the Sword that came out in 2017 and to be honest I like this movie personally it did have potential to be a franchise. I'm disappointed we're not getting a follow up to this film but hey we got a Disney live action Sword in the Stone remake happening should be good. Also I did a fan cast for Sword in the Stone here's the link to it.

I really hope they cast Geoffrey Rush as Merlin.

First here are my story ideas for a King Arthur Series
The artwork is not mine, full credit to the original artists.

1. How I would re tell the origin of King Arthur and the Sword and the Stone.
(Google Image)
Now in this version Arthur is the bastard child of Uther Pendragon instead of being a son of royal birth. In Guy Ritche's King Arthur, Arthur grew up on the streets but in this version he lives on a farm with his mother. In this version Arthur is in a gang with his five best friends Lancelot, Percival, Kay, and Gawain. They get into lots of trouble but thats because Camelot is a messed up Kingdom being ruled by King Vortigern the late King Uther's brother. Now like some King Arthur legends Vortigern is the King, he had his brother assassinated during a battle against the vikings and this battle was planned by Vortigern and Morgana. Now Vortigern rules Camelot as a tyrant and this version he is married to Morgana and they call her the Queen of Witches. Now in the story Arthur and his gang get into a fight with Vortigern's guards as they were attacking a family for not paying taxes, one of the guards recognizes Arthur and reports him to Vortigern. Vortigern has his knights attack Arthur's home killing his mother and burning his home to the ground. Arthur feels great guilt over his mother's death and at first he wants to kill Vortigern but he is stopped by an old man who tells him he will die if he goes after King Vortigern alone. Arthur learns the old man is Merlin the Wizard who was chief advisor to King Uther before his death and Merlin tells Arthur he is the illegitimate son of Uther Pendragon making Arthur the rightful King of Camelot. However, in this version Arthur doesn't just pull the sword and is declared king just like that, in this version Arthur has to prove himself to the sword. Arthur has to learn how to be a leader, how to rule, and how to be a true warrior. My take on the legend is Arthur has to train and learn how to be a king in order to pull the sword from stone.

2. How I would write Arthur in this version.
(Google Image)
Now there have been many incarnations of the character of King Arthur there have been versions of the character were he's of a different ethic background, versions were he's gender bended, there are versions of him as kid, and theres even versions of him as the villain. My version of the character is he is the bastard son of Uther, he grew up on farm, he's part of a gang, he's not a born leader in this version he learns how to be a leader. This Arthur is good hearted, adventurous, hard working, he's kind of hothead, a good fighter, and is always getting into trouble and getting out of it. When he learns that his father was King Uther it shocks him, but he accepts who he is and he wants to avenge his mother and father for their wrongful deaths at the hands of Voltaire. In this version when Arthur first tries to pull the sword in the stone he fails, but thats because he has to prove himself to be the worthy to be wielder of sword.

3. How I would write Merlin in this version.
(Google Image)
Now Merlin in this version is still an old man with a beard he lives in a forest and is a powerful wizard. Merlin would be like a father figure to Arthur but he is tough on Arthur and gives him a hard time, but still cares about him. In this version Merlin was the leader of a group of powerful wizards and enchanters but after King Uther died he was casted out of the order and Morgana took over and has abuse her magic for her own deeds. Merlin learned that Arthur was Uther's son because Uther told Merlin before his death that he had fallen in love with a commoner woman named Igraine (In this version she is a commoner and never married Uther.) Merlin has since then kept an eye out for Arthur by keeping him safe and making sure his birth is never revealed to Vortigern and Morgana.  Merlin now trains Arthur to become the King that Camelot needs more than ever and help him be worthy to wield Excalibur.

4. How I would write Guinevere in this version.
(Google Images)
Now in this version Guinevere is a maid of Camelot but also she's part of the secret rebellion that is planning to overthrow Vortigern and Morgana. Guinevere also knows Merlin as she knows healing herbs that she learned from him and Merlin sees in her she has magic in her but she has to discover it for herself. Guinevere would be Arthur's love interest as always and there is no love triangle with Lancelot. Arthur and Guinevere were childhood friends they did have feelings for each other but they never revealed it to each other and now Arthur learns she is part of a secret rebellion to overthrow Vortigern and Morgana. In this version Guinevere does some fighting and we see her and Arthur fight side by side in this series.

5. How I would write the Knights of the Round Table.
(Google Image)
Now there have been many takes on the knights of the round table what each knight is like. In this version the knights of the round started out as a street gang a little like Guy Ritche's King Arthur except, Arthur wasn't orphaned and Lancelot is in the gang and Lancelot is the leader of the gang. The founders of the Knights of the Round Table are Arthur, Lancelot, Percival, Kay, and Gawain
The next season woulds feature more of the well known knights later on.

Lancelot
(Google Image)
Lancelot, in this version he's Arthur's best friend and is the leader of their gang. He's a brave, he's a good fighter, he grew up an orphan on the streets, and he knows how lead his gang. Arthur sees him as a brother figure in his life and Arthur looks to him on how to be a leader. Lancelot would join Arthur's quest to take back the throne and joins the rebels to see Camelot free from tyranny. In this version Lancelot is revealed to be the son of Merlin and the Lady of Lake.

Gawain
(Google Image)
Gawain, in this version Gawain is often the brains of the group he's a good at planing out ideas, he's very cunning, he's very charming, and is quite the ladies man too. He was son of former knight and noble woman but after the death of King Uther his father was beheaded along with his wife for accusing Vortigern of killing the king. Gawian's house was striped of all its lands and titles and him, and his little sister had to live a peasant life but they keep on going and hoping justice will come to Vortigern. Gawian also has a little sister who works at tavern and is now married to owner and often helps her brother and his gang.

Kay
(Google Image)
Kay is the tough guy of the group he's the muscle of the group. He's not the smartest of the group but he's always there help with his fists if need be and he's the tallest of the group. Kay grew up in a blacksmith with his uncle and aunt and learn how to make weapons and he himself would practice with them. He forge the gang's weapons to help them deal Voltaire and his soldiers.  Now in most versions Kay is Arthur's foster brother and his father Sir Ector is Arthur's foster father, in this version though Kay works as a blacksmith and his father Ector is currently part of a secret rebellion trying to overthrow Vortigern.

Percival
(Google Image)
In this version Percival brings the comedy to gang and he often is the prankster of the group often pulling pranks, telling jokes, he's very quick, he fights dirty only when necessary, and he loves to party. Percival grew up from a bad home with an abusive father and very religious mother so he ran away from home. He eventually lived with Arthur and his mother, Percival often sees Arthur as the others as brother figures in his life.

6. How I would write Vortigern in this version.

Vortigern
(Google Image)
Now Vortigern was the villain in the 2017 King Arthur film and he would be again now he would be like most versions of the character he wants throne he's power hungry. Now I write him as he believes Camelot should expand its power and that he can make the world a better place. So he hired a hit man to kill his brother and take the throne also in this version, him and Morgana are lovers and with her dark magic they rule Camelot together. When Vortigern learns of his brother's secret son he will stop at nothing until he kills him for he will do whatever he can to keep the throne. Vortigern is heartless, cruel, looses his temper, often mock his enemies, wishes to see Camelot further its power, and is a great military tactic as well.

7. How I would write Morgana in this version.

Morgana
(Google Image)
In this version Morgana is not Arthur's half sister instead she's the wife Vortigern and Queen of Camelot. Morgana is cruel and uses her magic to hurt people and she training others in dark magic. In this version Morgana was the apprentice of Merlin but she betrayed him and gave in to dark magic. She joined forces with Vortigern and the two married after the death of Uther. Morgana in this story believes strongly that magic should rule all and her goal to see all magic users rule everything. Merlin believes the opposite that magic should serve people and be use to help people.

8. How I would write the Lady of Lake in this version.
(Google Image)
The Lady of the Lake's role would be in this version she is a spirit who helps Arthur on his quest and was once the wife of Merlin before she became a spirit. The Lady of Lake guides Arthur and helps him on quest to pull the sword from the stone. It's also revealed that she is the mother of Lancelot and this version Merlin is Lancelot's father.

9. I would make this an epic medieval fantasy with some comedy to it as well.
(Google Image)
Now theres been adaptations of King Arthur stories there have been comedy films like Monty Python and The Holy Grill, Merlin the series, King Arthur 2004, and 2017's King Arthur Legend of the Sword. I would make this a mixed of light and dark, full of adventure, action, fantasy, and romance. This King Arthur would be more fantasy driven than medieval driven. It would also be a coming of age story for Arthur on his path from farmer to king and the challenges he will face to prove himself not just a king but a hero.

10. Dragons and other fantasy creatures are in the series.
(Google Image)
Like the show Merlin there will be dragons in the show and we will see Arthur interact with one and there will be one he has to slay. One dragon will be his friend and the other will be a dragon he must slay for it serves Vortigern and Morgana.  Also it wouldn't be a fantasy without dragons I just love dragons. We also see Griffins, Giant Snakes, Direwolves, and other mystical creatures as well.

Now those are my ideas for a King Arthur Series and now here is my actors who I would have play the role

Charlie Rowe as Arthur

Merlin is a powerful Wizard who helps Arthur become King. In this version he is also Lancelot's father.

Mandeep Dhillon as Elaine
Elaine in this version is a spy for the Secret Rebellion and she a lady for Morgana. In order to prove her loyalty Elaine has had to do things she's not proud of but it's only way to help the rebels.

Jack Davenport as Leodegrance
Leodegrance is the father of Guinevere and in this version he's a former lord instead of a King. He is one of the leaders of the Secret Rebellion but he is protective of his daughter Guinevere. Guinevere is his heir and wants the out of the fighting.

Sophie Cookson as Lady Lynette
Lady Lynette is a lady of a land that has been taken by Vortigern and Morgana. Her father and mother were killed she and her sister escaped but now they join the rebels in hopes to reclaim their home. in this version She and Gawian become lovers.

Aisling Franciosi as Lady Lyonesses
Lady Lyonesses is a young lady whose sister and her escaped the deaths of their parents by Vortigern. She is part of the Secret Rebellion and a love interest for Lancelot in the series. There will be no love triangles in the series.
