Review 

So I saw Coming 2 America and heres my review of it.....it was good. Not as good as the first one but it was good. Like it was good seeing Eddie Murphy back Prince Akeem and Arsenio Hall as Semmi and the rest of the old cast. The new characters like Jermaine Fowler as Lavelle, Kiki Layne as Meeka, Tracy Morgan as Reem, Leslie Jones as Ma, and Weasley Snipes as General Izzi were really cool characters and funny characters. The cast all did a good job playing their characters. 

The film take places years after the first one and basically Akeem learns he has a son and he needs to make his son a prince so that he can inherit the throne because it's the law eldest son. Of course he has deal a power hungry general named Izzi whose played by Blade aka Wesley Snipes. Akeem faces challenges at home because his daughter wants to be heir and she's preparing her whole life which is understandable. The plot basically is Akeem is trying balance his family life and duty as King. 

The film set design was really good, the costumes in the film were really good too, and the make up was really good too. The costume design was done by Ruth E. Carter. 

The characters in this film are really likeable and you can relate to them too. 

There were some jokes that made me laugh like Lavelle saying what we all think about Hollywood making movies today all they do superhero films, remakes, and long awaited sequels that nobody wanted. Cleaver joke there. The rest of the film had some good stuff but the plot felt more like the first one. I won't say  but when you watch the film you'll understand. This film is good but not great there more they could have done or some might argue they didn't need to make sequel because long awaited sequels usually don't do well. 

Also I got to say all the actors have age very well like its amazing how good they look. Like Lisa still looks the same years later. As well liked the daughters of Akeem and Lisa they are really good characters well written and Meeka was a good character at first she doesn't like her brother but the two of them do bond later on.

 It was great James Earl Jones in this like he is now 90 years old and its amazing how he's still acting well he is Darth Vader. 

But overall this film is pretty good like the ending was nice. The film does have some issues and there were scenes that were funny and not so funny. However, this film is just a fun movie to watch and somewhat of a feel good film. I give this film a 6 out of 10 I prefer the first one over this, also I felt like this film borrow too much story and jokes from the first one. Give it a watch and its all about family.

I called it I knew in the end he would make his daughter heir to the throne because it was going to happen and his son ambassador to America this was going to happen. I could tell by the trailers.
