So I saw Thor Love and Thunder last night, and here's my review of it...It was meh. It wasn't as good as the previous Thor film, and I wasn't a fan of the story. My problems with this film aren't as dark or serious as they were in the comics, but Taika has said he would change your lores in a heartbeat. The film's cast did a good job Chris Hemsworth is always as fun as Thor. He is Thor. Natalie Portman was okay as Jane Foster, aka Mighty Thor. I mean, that's all I can say about her character, but her story arc was really good. Tessa Thompson was good too, but she wasn't as cool as she was in Ragnarok, and I still don't get why she called King Valkyrie. What's wrong with Queen? Taika was good as Korg and funny, but the best character was Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale, who did a great job as Gorr the God Butcher like he was scary and almost a Voldemort-type character. I was not a fan of Russell Crowe's Zeus's. I didn't like how they made him fat, and it's funny because Russell Crowe was jacked when he played Jor-El Superman's father, and I prefer Zack Snyder's Zeus over this version.
The story is just the whole Gorr is going to kill all the gods because his god didn't save his daughter. In the comics, it's much darker. The film has too many jokes, and it fe and els too short. As I heard, Taika had to make this film in under 2 hours. I just felt this film had a lot of problems, and I got to be honest, this film is proof that Marvel's winning days are over. I'm going to be honest. Spiderman No Way Home is their best film in Phase 4. That's just my opinion of where the MCU is right now. Plus, the CGI in the movie was terrible, and I feel they could have done better with this film.
I was disappointed with this film. I give Love and Thunder a 6 out of 10. It's just not that good, but if you like, that's fine. I did like the end credit scene, though.
