My Top 8 Best Ned Flanders Episodes.
After my top Moe episodes, here is my top 6 Best Ned Flanders O'klie dolk. Now we love or can't stand Ned Flanders. Let's face it he's loveable but annoying, especially regarding religious views. Still, Flanders is one of the Simpsons' best characters because he's endured so many hard times despite being the nicest guy.
He lost both wives, Maude and Edna, he lost business and was fired from many jobs, but he kept going because of his sons and faith.
So here are my top 8 Ned Flanders Episodes
8. A Star is Born Again.
In this episode, Ned dates Sarah Sloane, a movie star voiced by Marisa Tomei. Ned is surprised she wants to date him, but she's been with many Hollywood actors who want to date a nice guy. Still, Ned grows to love her, and she does too, but unlike the bible, it doesn't have a happy ending...which is weird. The Bible really didn't have a lot of happy endings. One of the funniest moments is when Ned imagines what life would be like if he lived in Hollywood and his sons were now movie producers, and worst of all, Hollywood doesen't have a football team. Ned wouldn't like Hollywood at all. We all know that. As well I love the scene with Homer and Sarah.
This scene is so funny.
I really enjoy this episode because we see Ned move on with a new woman, but like I mention, when Ned and Sarah have sex for the first time, he wants to marry her now, but she turns him down because she's not ready. They broke up, and the lupus fun run sees them naked. In the end, Sarah does marry someone, and it only lasts for three hours. Still, I really enjoy this episode. It's funny, and it's a shame Sarah and Ned didn't end up together, but in the end, he ended up with Edna, and she was better for him. 7. Ned 'n' Edna's Blend Agenda.
In this episode, Ned is not happy with Homer playing Jesus, but in the end, Homer does a great job right up till that cross falls on Ned's head. In this episode, we learn that Ned and Edna are married, but they marry secretly because everyone in Springfield goes crazy over this stuff. So Marge throws a party for them, and Ned learns that Edna took the boys out of their religious school and took them to a real school. Ned isn't happy, but he's remarried now. In the episode, we get a claymation segment where Ned sees Rod graduating, and he's at a regular university and study in comparative religious studies. Ned eventually loses it on Edna after seeing how the boys act like real boys. Ned feels terrible about how he worked. Ned and Edna make up for it as they kiss each other. I like Ned acknowledges that his new marriage will have some issues, but he and Edna would work things out if they just discussed it. The sad thing is the marriage would only be for two years after Marica Wallace, the voice of Edna, died. I recommend watching Diary Queen because it's a fitting tribute to Edna.
This episode will make you shed a tear, and it's just good that Edna found love and a family before she died.
"Thanks, Edna."
Ned Flanders.
5. Alone Again, Natural Diddly.
Now this episode was a game changer because the actress who voiced Maude quit the show because she got frustrated with the traveling, so the writers decided to kill off Maude Flanders. The way Maude dies is funny. Homer is responsible for Maude's death. He drove her out of her seat, provoked the ladies to shoot shirts, and parked in the ambulance zone preventing any chance of saving her. After Maude dies, Ned is a mess, and he just questions his faith and fun fact initially. There is a scene where Rod and Todd talk about their mother's death, but they feel like it is way too sad. Ultimately, Ned regains his faith after a Christian country singer's song inspires him. 4. Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily.
In this episode, the Simpson kids go live with the Flanders after Homer and Marge have been accused of being bad parents. So Bart, Lisa, and Maggie live with them and are weirded out by their lifestyle, like putting honey on pancakes and nachos that aren't nachos but with cucumbers and cottage cheese. Also, unlike Bart and Lisa, Maggie likes the Flanders, and they are worried she will forget about their parents. In this episode, the funniest moment is when Ned finds out Bart and Lisa were never baptized, so he decides to get them baptized, but Homer stops Ned from doing that, and the whole family reunites, and they find out Ned still keeps old paint buckets despite being empty. This was a funny episode because Ned just went insane over the fact that Bart, Lisa, and Maggie weren't baptized, and I'm pretty sure he can't do that even if Homer and Marge lost their kids after their house was wrecked.
3. Hurricane Ned.
In this episode, we see Ned finally get angry after his house is destroyed in a hurricane, and Ned and his family are the only ones whose house got destroyed. After the town rebuilds the home, which unfortunately breaks down. Ned expresses his frustrations and anger towards everyone in Springfield, and it's so funny and true. We learn the reason Ned never gets angry is because when he was a kid, his parents never wanted to force discipline on him. So his doctor spanked him for an entire year, and he became the kind-hearted neighbor we all know and love or hate. Ned has Homer try to get him to say something he hates and admits he hates his folks because he clearly thought they were terrible parents to him. They were indeed, but I love how Homer would later bond with them by getting high. Ned, you are so crazy.
This is a fun episode to watch, and what Ned says is so true about some of the Simpsons characters.
2. A Serious Flanders.
Now this is from a new Simpsons era, and it's great. It's a two-parter called Serious Flanders, basically a parody of Fargo. The episode has Ned stumble upon millions of dollars which upsets Homer because he's wanted that. The episode also shows Ned's papa, voiced by Timothy Olyphant, and how Ned looked up to him, but he was a corrupted cop. This episode also has Brian Cox guest star as a hitman. These episodes are parodies, so they're non-canon because we see Fat Tony die a gruesome death and Mr. Burns. It's an excellent two-parter, and I must tell you, you have to watch it's so good.
The best Ned Flanders episode is...
1. Homer Loves Flanders.
Homer Loves Flanders is one of the best Ned Flanders episodes because Homer goes to a football game with Ned. The team wins, and Homer grows to love Ned and calls him his best friend. Homer spends so much time with Ned that he even takes him to Moes, and we learn Moe reads stories to children in the hospital and the homeless. Homer gets a lot of praise for his work at the soup kitchen, making Ned jealous. After that, the Simpsons and Flanders have BBQ together, but in the end, the Flanders aren't having fun. Ned even has a nightmare where he's shooting people and shouting out Homer's name. This episode is the reason for these memes.
After the dream, Ned realizes he hates Homer. He tries to avoid him and even gets him in trouble with the law. Ned goes to church, where everyone gives him the cold shoulder, and then he freaks out on Homer for breathing loud while praying. Everyone gets mad at Ned, but then Homer steps in his defensive, and he explains despite how annoying Ned is, he's still a good person and that if more people were like him, there would be no need for Heaven. We are already there. It shows what a good friend Homer is to Ned because despite how Ned annoys him, he will always be there for him. This, to me, is the best Ned Flanders episode, and the ending is funny because, like Lisa, everyone goes back the same after a specific event. She was right because after that, Homer got his uncle Boris's country house, and they say it's haunted.
Next thing you know, the Simpsons stay the weekend and realize it is haunted.
So those are my top 8 Favourite Ned Flanders episodes.
