A Christmas Story Christmas Review
So, I saw a Christmas Story Christmas, and here is my review of it...This is how you do a legacy sequel. This was a great film and a proper sequel to a Christmas classic. They brought back the original cast except for the dad because the actor who played him was dead. The original actress died too, and she was recast with Julie Hagerty. The film is about a grown-up Ralphie in the 1970s whose trying to make it as a writer, but when he learns his dad has died. He promises to give his family the perfect Christmas, just like his dad did in the last film. The film does have some nods from the original but only tries to copy it a little. This sequel did its own thing and had some funny moments. As well, there is no subplot of one of Ralphie's kids wanting a special toy because it's focus mainly on Ralphie and his struggles to help his family and make it big as a writer.
40 Years later and Peter Billingsley is still Ralphie.
This film like I mentioned does have nostalgia bait but it's done right.
The cast did a great job, and the kid actors were funny too. This is way better than that awful fake sequel of A Christmas Story. Let's pretend that never happened. I love this film and give it an 8 out of 10. This will be a Christmas classic and a good example of how to do a legacy sequel.
