Batman Long Halloween Review

Batman Long Halloween Review

With Halloween coming on Thursday, here is my last Halloween Review based on the two-part animated Batman film The Long Halloween.

Based on the best selling coming Jeph Loeb and the Late Tim Sale.
This story focuses on Batman solving a murder mystery by the holiday who kills every holiday. Batman has five suspects, and he must find out who is doing these crimes. The film also retells Two-Face's Origin and focuses on Catwoman's relationship with the Falcone family. The movie is a two-parter, and it works like this is a long story.
Gotham's look is fantastic, and I hope to see that in The Brave and the Bold.
The film has many of Batman's rogues in this film from Joker, Poison Ivy, Penguin, Scarecrow, Mad Hater, Solomon Grundy, Calendar Man, and Two-Face.
Looking forward to see these characters in the DCU.
Also, Calendar Man was a pretty creepy villain. He was lame back then, but then they made him into Hannibal.
Jensen Ackles nailed it as Batman, and I would be down for him to play the DCU Batman.
Now, the animation in this film is excellent, the design of Gotham is great, and, of course, the voice cast in this film is spot on. The action scenes are good, and the mystery of who the Holiday Killer is is intriguing. By the end, you will be surprised by who it is.
Joker is always great to have, and Troy Baker nails it.
Like I wrote before, Jensen Ackles nails it as Batman, Troy Baker is always great as the Joker, Naya Rivera was amazing as Catwoman, and sadly, this was her last role as she died after this movie; Josh Duhamel was great as Harvey Dent, and again this movie is an origin story for Two-Face, and you feel for Harvey and his relationship with his wife Glida Dent. (I won't spoil anything. I know this movie has been out for a few years, but I don't want to spoil it.) The rest of the cast all do a great job, especially David Dastmalchian. You might know him from Dune, and he Poke a Dot Man in Suicide Squad.
I love Batman and Harvey's relationship as they fight for Gotham. Unfortunately, Dent becomes corrupted by his dark side.
Batman and Catwoman's relationship is good, and Catwoman is one of the best characters in the film. We learn more about her character and her life. Honestly, this is one of the best Catwoman storylines before they ruin it with Tom King's run.
Long Halloween inspired directors Christopher Nolan and Matt Reeves' Batman films. Overall, I really enjoy this film. It's an excellent Batman two-parter, and it's great to watch on Halloween.
I give Batman The Long Halloween
a 10 out of 10.
Go watch it!
Happy Halloween to all
my amazing viewers!!!

My thoughts on the Blade MCU Reboot getting cancelled

My Thoughts on the Blade reboot being canceled.
So, if you haven't heard, the MCU Blade reboot has been removed from its release schedule for 2025. Now, the film has not been canceled, but it is at this point. This film has gone through so many scripts. There was one that was basically like John Wick but with vampires written by Beau Demayo, and there was a script that was a bait and switch in which Blade was sidelined in favor of his daughter, and he's barely in the movie. One of the writers clarified this and assured fans that Blade was in all of the film. Seriously, the Bait and Switch troupe is annoying. Now, the film is being removed from its release date. Does it mean it's canceled, or does it mean they want to make a Blade film after Secret Wars? Who knows?
After this point, Mahershala Ali will quit this film because he's annoyed like fans. You could blame COVID-19 for the delays, but it's been passed COVID-19. We want a reboot of the Blade film. Let's face it: the closest thing you get with a new Blade is the return of Wesley Snipes as Blade in Deadpool and Wolverine. Also, Mahershala should join the DCU as  Martian Manhunter.
Let's face it, guys. Weasley Snipes speaks the truth. There's only going to be one Blade. I think Ryan is right. They should make a Logan-style Blade film for Weasley Snipes.
I think they will eventually make a Blade film, but clearly, they don't have a good direction. I think they did have one with the John Wick-inspired script, but Disney was stupid and said no to that idea. I hope Deadpool and Wolverine is a wake up call for them.
However, there is a rumor that Marvel is planning a Midnight Sons movie, and I think they want to put Blade on that team. So, if that's the closest thing to a Blade reboot, I guess that's it.
So, that's my thoughts on the Blade film being removed from its release schedule. Do you think the movie is canceled, or will they eventually make a Blade Reboot? Let me know what you think.
Happy Halloween

Double Review of Coraline and ParaNorman

Double Review of Coraline and ParaNorman

So, I'm doing another double review, this time on Coraline and ParaNorman, two stop-motion animated films that are now classics. Both films are fun, funny, and, most of all, scary. So, this Halloween, I'm doing my double review of Coraline and ParaNorman.

Let's start with Coraline.

Based on Neil Gaiman's story, Coraline is about a girl who finds out her new house has another side to it. She learns that the house is haunted by a spirit called the Mother, who takes children to a world where they can have anything they desire, but if they choose to stay, she sews buttons in their eyes and takes their souls. The film also has Coraline adjusting to her new house with her parents, her new neighbours, and a black cat voiced by Keith David. The film's animation is excellent, and the film was directed by Henry Selick. He directed Nightmare Before Christmas. In the film, she goes into the other world, as much as she loves it. She learns the truth about the other Mother's sinister intentions. However, the other Mother kidnaps her parents, so she must save them from her.
The cast does a great job, including Dakota Fanning as Coraline, Teri Hatcher, who voices Coraline's Mother and other Mother, John Hodgman as Coraline's dad, Ian McShane as Mr. Bobinsky, Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French as Ms. April and Ms. Miriam, and Robert Baiely Jr. as Wybie. This film is, to be honest, scary.
I mean, look at the Other Mother. She was scary, and honestly, it would make anyone want to move out of that house. The animation in the film is great, and the way the setting and the characters designs are excellent. It is a family film, but it's on the same level as those old 80s kids' films that were really scary.
I really enjoy this film, and it's a great Halloween film to watch.
I give it a 9 out of 10.
It's a good film and a fun movie to watch for Halloween.

Now its ParaNorman
ParaNorman is a great film about a boy named Norman who can see dead people with unfinished business. Everyone in the town thinks he's weird, including his dad and sister, but his mom and Neil don't. In the film, Norman begins to see visions of the town's witch coming for revenge and zombies coming to life, but zombies and the witch are not evil. So Norman decides he needs to stop the witch by reading a fairy tale to her to find out why she wants revenge on the town.

The movie has a lot of funny moments, especially with Neil. He was funny, especially in the scene he's watching his mom's exercise video, but he just froze a particular part of the video.
This scene makes me laugh.

The movie's characters are hilarious and likeable, even Courtney's Norman sister. I find it funny when she asks Mitch, Neil's older brother, and he says she will love his boyfriend. He's a total chick flick nut. This film is pretty famous for that, as it was the first animated kid-friendly film to have a gay character. It got a lot of praise for that.
The film has some scary moments, and the animation is fantastic. The characters are likeable and funny because this film teaches us not to judge anyone for how weird they are. We see the zombies aren't evil and the z word is offensive now. They feel remorse and guilt for what they did to a little girl who had been accused of being a witch. The cast of the film all did a great job like Kodi Smit-McPhee as Norman, Anna Kendrick as Courtney, Casey Affleck as Mitch, Tucker Albrizzi as Neil, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Alvin, John Goodman, Jeff Garlin, Leslie Mann, Alex Borstien, and the late Bernard Hill.
Overall, this is a great film. I love it, and I give it a 9 out of 10.
It's another great Halloween film to watch.

Happy Halloween To All My Viewers!

Hellboy the Crooked Man Review

Hellboy The Crooked Man Review

So I saw Hellboy the Crooked Man yesterday, and here's my review of it. It was okay and is much better than the 2019 Hellboy film. This Hellboy has a low budget 20 million, but overall, it's an alright, fun horror film. This film has a more horror vibe than the last three Hellboy films. The film is set during the 1950s with a younger Hellboy. He's working with a fellow BRPD agent named Jo, who has to help Tom Ferrell take down the Crooked Man. Some scenes were scary, and the Crooked Man was a pretty frightening villain, especially since his powers are creepy. Still, this film was okay, and the special effects could have been better considering the budget; however, despite that, the film itself is alright, and it's a fun movie if you love horror with action.
I know some Hellboy fans will like this film because it was written by Mike Mignola, the creator of Hellboy.
As for the cast, Jack Kesy did a good job as Hellboy. He's not on the same level as Ron Perlman, but he was good. The rest of the cast was good, too, in this film. Overall, the movie was okay. It's a fun horror movie, and that's all it needs to be. I give this film a 6 out of 10.
I do hope we get more Hellboy projects. I don't know if they will make a sequel. If not, I think Mike should do a TV series reboot or animated series like the Hellboy Animated films or just make Del Toro's third Hellboy film with Ron Perlman. Even Ron wants to do it.

Joker Folie a Deux Review

Joker Folie a Deux Review

So, I saw Joker Folie a Deux yesterday, and here's my review of it...I didn't like it. We never needed a sequel to Joker because the first film was a great original film. It ended where it was left open-ended for people to decide what happened to Joker. The film is set two years after the first film, and we see Arthur's life now, and he falls in Lee Quinn, aka Harley Quinn. Now, the cast does a good job, like Joaquin. He was good, and I loved this one musical segment with him. Lady Gaga was good, and I like her. Harley was evil in this film. The rest of the cast are good too and let me tell you, you will hate the security guards in this film.

Now, some of the musical numbers didn't work, but there was one I liked and that was in the courtroom, where Joker sang a song. It was good and properly the best part of the whole film. Also, the camera shots and, again, the acting in the film are good.
Lady Gaga did an excellent job as Harley Quinn, but this version is more crazy, and she comes off as horrible.
Still, Gaga did a good job, but I felt she deserved better. I have to say it's good seeing an evil Harley Quinn for once because I'm getting sick of good Harley Quinn. I want evil Harley Quinn.
Joaquin would make a great comic-accurate Joker.
I won't spoil this film, but there was stuff that just annoyed me and made me wonder what the hell this is. I did not like how Joker was written in this film, and I loved Joaquin's performance as the Joker. He's the best Joker since Heath Ledger. I did not like how they wrote Arthur in this and ended his story.

I give this a 4 out of 10, like it was one of the worst films I've seen. Honestly, we didn't need a Joker sequel, and I heard even Todd Philips didn't want to make one and even told fans they would be divided by the film's ending. I'll be honest: I did not like the ending of this film. I won't go into detail, but I just don't like it.

As I mentioned, we didn't need a sequel to Joker. It ended well because it was open-ended. Instead, I think they should have made more stand-alone DC villain films.
For example, a Lex Luthor origin film like Joker would work, except he's a businessman got involved with politics. He becomes a corrupt president and believes he is the world's savior. I would end with the world in chaos, and he looks up at the sky and sees Superman's shadow coming to save the day.
I'm excited to see Lex Luthor in the next Superman film, played by Nicholas Hoult, way better than Eisenberg.
Or.
A Bane film would work in the same style as the Joker because Bane has such a dark origin story. There was talk about making a Bane solo film because he was one of Batman's biggest enemies—he killed Alfred. A Bane film would have worked and the character has a great origin story. Also, we are getting a Bane and Deathstroke film from DCU, which is just as cool.
They should have done this instead of making Joker 2 make more stand-alone villain-origin films. They don't need sequels and don't need to be part of the DCU. They are just stand-alone and one and done.

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad Review

My Review of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad

Here is another Halloween review, this time based on Ichabod and Mr. Toad. However, I won't focus on Mr. Toad's story, just Ichabod's, the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, written by Washington Irving, is about the Headless Horseman.
The film is about the schoolmaster Ichabod, who is tall and has a big nose. He loves to eat and is a chick magnet for some reason. In the film, he moves to Sleepy Hollow, and everyone is weirded out by this guy, but he grows to become popular with the ladies.
In the film, we meet Brom Bones, the town hero who is super athletic. He also pulls pranks on Ichabod, likes to drink, and tells stories. After watching this film, a lot of people have come to realize that Brom is actually the hero of the film. It's not Ichabod; in fact, he's the villain. Well, in truth, in this film, all the characters are grey; there's no good or bad, like in most Disney films.
In the film, Ichabod falls in love with Katrina, but he only wants to marry her family's wealth.
Ichabod wants to be with her for her family's money and land. He only cares about that, and Brom likes Katrina, too, but he doesn't care for her money. Again, this is one of the few films where all the characters are grey.
The film has good animation from 1949, and I had a fun time watching this film. Some moments made me laugh, and the Headless Horseman song is catchy. You can't help but hum that song and listen to it every Halloween. Later in the film, Brom struggles to get Ichabod away from Katrina at a Halloween party. Still, he fails at every attempt until he remembers how superstitious Ichabod is. So he tells the story of the Headless Horseman and tells everyone that when you go into the hollow and head to the bridge, the ghost's power ends.
In the film, Ichabod returns home but very late because he's so freaked out by Brom's story.
Eventually, we see the Headless Horseman and get the big chase scene.
This chase was intense and a lot of fun, and the animation was good. The end of the chase is pretty scary, and the movie ends on an open ending because, in the film, the townsfolk find Ichabod's hat and shatter the pumpkin. Brom ends up marrying Katrina, and everyone in Sleepy Hollow debates whether Ichabod was killed by the Headless Horseman or, as someone mentions, he left and married a woman and had children.
Now it's been up to debate with fans if this was Brom Bones. There are many theories about this; even Washington Irving left it open for fans to decide if this was Brom or an actual spirit. Still, Brom really was the Headless Horseman. Some people don't think so because they believe this is an actual phantom, but it makes sense to me it was Brom. If you rewatch the movies, you see the signs it's Brom, and yes, Ichabod does look down his empty head, but I think Brom was covering his head.
I also don't think Brom was trying to kill Ichabod; it scared him away from Katrina, like in the book. However, the film is open-ended, so you can decide if you think Ichabod died at the end of the movie because it is open-ended.
Overall, Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is a good film that gets you into the Halloween spirit.
I give this film a 7 out of 10.
You will be humming the Headless Horseman song, and You can't reason with a headless man.
Happy Halloween
