Batman Long Halloween Review
Based on the best selling coming Jeph Loeb and the Late Tim Sale.
This story focuses on Batman solving a murder mystery by the holiday who kills every holiday. Batman has five suspects, and he must find out who is doing these crimes. The film also retells Two-Face's Origin and focuses on Catwoman's relationship with the Falcone family. The movie is a two-parter, and it works like this is a long story.
Gotham's look is fantastic, and I hope to see that in The Brave and the Bold.
The film has many of Batman's rogues in this film from Joker, Poison Ivy, Penguin, Scarecrow, Mad Hater, Solomon Grundy, Calendar Man, and Two-Face.
Looking forward to see these characters in the DCU.
Also, Calendar Man was a pretty creepy villain. He was lame back then, but then they made him into Hannibal.
Jensen Ackles nailed it as Batman, and I would be down for him to play the DCU Batman.
Now, the animation in this film is excellent, the design of Gotham is great, and, of course, the voice cast in this film is spot on. The action scenes are good, and the mystery of who the Holiday Killer is is intriguing. By the end, you will be surprised by who it is.
Joker is always great to have, and Troy Baker nails it.
Like I wrote before, Jensen Ackles nails it as Batman, Troy Baker is always great as the Joker, Naya Rivera was amazing as Catwoman, and sadly, this was her last role as she died after this movie; Josh Duhamel was great as Harvey Dent, and again this movie is an origin story for Two-Face, and you feel for Harvey and his relationship with his wife Glida Dent. (I won't spoil anything. I know this movie has been out for a few years, but I don't want to spoil it.) The rest of the cast all do a great job, especially David Dastmalchian. You might know him from Dune, and he Poke a Dot Man in Suicide Squad.
I love Batman and Harvey's relationship as they fight for Gotham. Unfortunately, Dent becomes corrupted by his dark side.
Batman and Catwoman's relationship is good, and Catwoman is one of the best characters in the film. We learn more about her character and her life. Honestly, this is one of the best Catwoman storylines before they ruin it with Tom King's run.
Long Halloween inspired directors Christopher Nolan and Matt Reeves' Batman films. Overall, I really enjoy this film. It's an excellent Batman two-parter, and it's great to watch on Halloween.
I give Batman The Long Halloween
a 10 out of 10.
Go watch it!
Happy Halloween to all
my amazing viewers!!!
In memory of Tim Sale
one of the best artists in comics.
His work live on forever.
