My review of Frankenstein
So I saw Frankenstein last night, and here's my review. I enjoyed this film a lot, and I know we've gotten tons of Frankenstein films before. However, this is Del Toro's best one by far. We all know the story, but in the movie it's told from both Victor's and the Creature's points of view. The film's makeup design and setting design were fantastic. Also, the film's story was well written, and it's very different from the book, which isn't surprising, as the story has been in the public domain for a hundred years. The cast of the film all did a great job, like Oscar Issac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, Charles Dance, and David Bradley. Oscar Issac was fantastic as Victor Frankenstein, but Jacob Elordi was incredible as the Creature. The themes of the movie are the same as in the book, and there are some powerful moments, but the ending is very different from the book.
You really feel for the Creature in this film because he's not a monster; he's actually a good guy searching for meaning in his life. This film was fantastic and I had a good time with it. I highly recommend it as Del Toro does it again, and I give it an 8 out of 10.
