Tangled Review
Tangled was one of Disney's big comebacks, as it was a CGI-animated princess film. Tangled is one of my favourite Disney films, full of great characters, a good story, and just a fun movie to watch. Based on the tale of Rapunzel, which most of us already know. This version is that Rapunzel wants to see the floating lamps every day on her birthday. Still, her mother, Gothel, doesn't want her to, because we all know Rapunzel is the lost princess, and her hair is magic, and when she sings to Gothel it keeps her young.
These two were also really funny together. Out of all romantic couples, these two are funny with each other.
We also have Flynn Rider, one of the film's best characters. It's funny how he only wanted to get rich, but after meeting Rapunzel, he promises to take her to the lights and falls in love with her. One of the funny running gags is Flynn's nose. They go on some adventures, go to a tavern, and they sing I Got a Dream and they meet the guard horse Maximus, and he befriends them even though he wants to turn in Flynn. Mother Gothel was a good villain, and you saw her on my top ten best Disney villains.
One thing I find interesting is that at the end, when Gothel turns old and is dying, Rapunzel actually tries to save her from falling. Which is interesting, despite learning the truth that she kidnapped her from her parents, she still cares about her, as Gothel was actually caring for Rapunzel.
As she acts like she would get redemption, but no, she's straight up a terrible person who treats Rapunzel as an object instead of a real daughter, who lets her explore the world as most parents should.
Tangled also featured memorable musical numbers, such as "See the Light," "I Got a Dream," "When Will My Life Begin," and "Mother Knows Best." The voice cast is fantastic, including Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Donna Murphy, Ron Perlman, Brad Garrett, and many more.
The film was excellent and funny, and its ending was great, as a family is reunited at last. Rapunzel was a princess worth waiting for, as Flynn says.
Now we have a Tangled TV series that is set after the first film. It did explore Flynn's background and explore more of the lore of the glowing flower, and we got an animated sequel short called Ever After, but we never got a feature-length sequel, which many fans and even the cast wanted, but as they said, she cut her hair, what else is there to tell? Still, I would have loved a Tangled sequel rather than more Frozen films. Also, we are getting a remake... why, though? Just make a sequel or something, because we all know what they will do in the remake, since it's being written by the writer of Love and Thunder, ugh.
He proposed seven times till she finally said yes. If you want to watch the animated series.
Also, one of the last great Disney romances we got, because after this, Disney killed romance in films, sadly.
Overall, I love Tangled; it's a great Disney film, and it's always fun to watch. I give an 8 out of 10.
