Karate Kids Legends Review

Karate Kid Legends Review

So, I saw Karate Kid Legends yesterday, and here's my review of it. I had a fun time with this film. The movie is not as good as Cobra Kai, but I had a fun time watching it. It focuses on a new Karate Kid named Li Fong and how he moves from Beijing to New York and tries to fight because of how violent he gets and also dealing with his older brother's death. The film brings back Jackie Chan from the 2011 Karate Kid film and Ralph Macchio reprising his role as Daniel. As they work to train Li for an upcoming tournament, Li wants to help his girlfriend Mia and her dad. The film's cast was excellent, with every one delivering a strong performance. Ben Wang, in particular, did a great job as Li Wong. Also, you can't go wrong with Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio. They are great, as always.
This film was enjoyable, but the editing was somewhat messy; however, despite that, I had a fun time with this film, and it's rockier than The Karate Kid, to be honest. Overall, it was an entertaining movie, and I give it a 6 out of 10.

My thoughts on the Wheel of Time Show getting cancelled.

My thoughts on the Wheel of Time show getting cancelled.
Why it's both a good thing but also a sad thing.

So, if you have heard or haven't heard, the Wheel of Time series has been canceled. Some fans are upset because this show only had three seasons, and the third season ended on a cliffhanger. However, some fans are happy about it getting canceled because let's face it. Many fans, even myself, had problems with the show, its writing, and how it handled its characters and made too many changes from the source material. Even Brandon Sanderson has called out the show for how it's adapted Robert Jordan's work.

If they do reboot they should hire Brandon to help more with the show.

Now, for the record, I do feel bad for the actors and actresses who played these characters. They all did a good job, but the problem was that the writing and the ratings weren't good. It's funny how Amazon is willing to continue Rings of Power, which should have gotten canceled after season two. Also, Rings of Power got bad reviews, but they are determined to finish their five-season plan, but they will cancel Wheel of Time. Still if you liked Rings of Power that's fine.

This announcement is good and sad, and I'll explain why.
It's good because now I can see the series getting rebooted, and Amazon can get someone to come in who, unlike Rafe Judkins, is more respectful of Robert's work and won't change too much from the source material. Rafe Judkins deserves some blame because he had changed too much from the books and added more of his ideas, and the writing staff did the same. I once wrote that Rand Al'Thor is the main character, but the show decided they wanted it to be about Moiraine, and I wrote that switching protagonists was a bad idea. Rafe also made some changes that ruin some of the characters and their story arc because why is Mat so unlucky, why is his father a deadbeat drunk while he wasn't in the books, why is Perrin married in the first episode, and Elayne and Avienda are romantically involved while in the books they were best friends and were more like sisters. Also, Rand's love story with Min, Elayne, and Avienda was just butchered, and Rafe focuses much more on Egwene. I have nothing against Rafe Judkins. I'm sure he's a good guy; I disagreed with how he adapted the Wheel of Time though.

With so many changes, I can understand why fans didn't like this show. There are people who just love the show for what it is, and that's fine. I did enjoy season three, but I did have problems with it.
However, I predict Amazon will announce that they will reboot the series within a few years, which will be more "faithful" to the books. Which I can see them doing now. If they were going to reboot the series, they needed to get a showrunner who had read the books and respected the author's work, but also, if they made some changes, that's fine, but as long as it respects Robert Jordan's ideas and themes. If I were to make the show, I would either make another live-action attempt or, maybe, an animated series of the Wheel of Time could work too. I mean, look at Invincible. It is one of the best shows on Amazon, and if they make it animated, they could bring back the show's cast. I don't know if the cast would be okay with voicing their characters, but they are starting over again with Eye of the World, and it's more faithful to the books. They could do it, or the studio might hire new actors to play the characters.
I feel bad for the actors, like Josha Stradowski, Madeleine Madden, Donal Finn, Marcus Rutherford, Zoe Robins, Daniel Henney, and Rosamund Pike. They were great, and hopefully, they will get more roles in the future because I like all the actors. I didn't like how they were written, but it's not their fault, just the writers. I wouldn't be surprised if fans of the show started a petition to bring back the show or have another studio pick up the series, which could happen because it's happened before. I believe they should reboot the series, but we don't know what will happen; if they reboot, please be more faithful to the books; if you make changes, please make sure it's done right. If the show does come back, I'm happy for the cast of the series, but if it does, please get different writers who respect Robert's work and fix some changes that Rafe did.
If they do an animated series reboot make it in this style like the comics.

So those are my thoughts on the Wheel of Time getting canceled. Are you upset about this news, or are you happy with this news? To me, it's both. I didn't like what they were doing, but I do feel sad for the cast of this show. Let me know what you think.
Remember, the Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills.
