Road House Review

Roadhouse Review
So I saw Road House last night, and here's my review of it. I liked it. I found it to be an entertaining movie to watch, and Jake Gyllenhaal was great in this film. The movie had great fight scenes and good action. It also gets very gory at some moments, and the film is basically about a former UFC fighter named Elwood who works at a bar called Roadhouse and stops bar fights. This movie was a lot of fun, and Connor McGregor was great in the film, too, and he's good at playing bad guys. Overall, I had a fun time with this movie. I give it a 7 out of 10.

X-Men 97 Review episode 1 and 2

So, this classic gem is back, and I love it. The show is back, and it's good. It has a lot of 90s vibes to it. It's great seeing the 90s X-Men back in this show, and they brought back all the old voice actors but replaced some of them.

All the characters stand out, and Cyclops steals the show. He is a badass in the first episode. Marvel Studios needs to give us a proper Cyclops in an MCU film.
Wolverine is excellent, Rogue is great, Gambit is great, and Storm is incredible.
It's great seeing all these characters again, and so far, the first two episodes have the X-Men working with the government and working with humans. Sadly, some humans still hate mutants, and Magneto returns; this time, he's trying to be a good guy and now owns the Xavier School. Now, this is only the first two episodes, and I'm enjoying it so far, and the ending of episode 2 left me shocked.
I can't wait to see more from this show. The characters still feel the same, and I'm hoping we get something like this in an MCU project with the X-Men. Yes, there are some changes fans won't like, and I get it.
So far, both episodes are a 9 out of 10.

After watching the first two episodes, Disney and Marvel, let's make Spider-Man 98 happen.
We need a proper ending for this Peter Parker.

My American Fiction Review

My American Fiction Review

So, I saw American Fiction, and here's my review of it...I liked it. I found this film to be very enjoyable to watch and you feel for the character of Monk and his family. The film is about a writer named Monk who is frustrated and tired of the offensive tropes in black stories. So he uses a pen name for his book, he writes a book with those offensive tropes, and all of a sudden, this book becomes a huge hit, which he didn't want. As well the film dives into his family life like his father is dead and he cheated on their mother, his sister unexpectedly dies, his brother's wife and kids leave him after he finds out he is gay, and his mother has Alzheimer's. Monk is trying to look after his mother, dealing with his sister's death, his brother's drug problems and feeling unloved after coming out, and his love life with a woman named Coraline.

Jeffery Wright gives one of his best performances in this film and this film had some heart felt moments, some sad moments, and moments that made me laugh.

This film has some of the best acting I've seen, like Jeffery Wright. He was fantastic in the role; Tracee Ellis Ross was great, too; Sterling K. Brown was great; everyone in this film was great. I greatly enjoyed this film, and I give it an 8 out of 10.

Kung Fu Panda 4 Review

My Review of Kung Fu Panda 4

So I saw Kung Fu Panda 4 yesterday, and here's my review of it...I love it. I had a fun time with this movie. The action in this film was good, the characters are hilarious, and the bad guy in The Chameleon is a great villain. Now, I've only seen the first Kung Fu Panda. I didn't see the second one; I only saw parts of the third one. I still really enjoyed this film. The movie is about Po voiced by Jack Black and he's great as always. Po searches for his successor as the next Dragon Warrior, as he is to become the next spiritual leader. Po meets a fox thief named Zhen, voiced by Awkafina, and despite the times I criticize her acting like in Shang Chi and the Little Mermaid remake. She was great in this film; her character is very likable, and you feel for Zhen. The Furious Five doesn't appear in this film, but we still have good characters in this film. The cast of the film all do a great job like Bryan Crantson, Dustin Hoffman, Viola Davis, Ke Huy Quan, and Ian McShane.

I give this film an 8 out of 10.

Barbie Review

My Barbie Review

So I finally saw the Barbie movie, and I liked this movie like I had fun with this movie. I had such a fun time watching this movie. Margot Robbie was great in the film; she nailed it as Barbie, and she gave one of the best performances as Barbie. I also loved Ryan Gosling in this film. He was great as Ken, and I loved the song Ken Enough. He was one of the best characters in the movie as well. Gloria, played by America Ferrera, was great in this film. I also like how her husband is shown to be trying to learn Spanish for her. Everyone in this movie did a great job playing their characters. Michael Cera's Allen was a great character too I think he might been Max Power doll which explains his fighting style.

Some funny moments had me laughing, like pregnant Barbie, Will Ferrell was funny in this film, and the Synder Cut joke was funny. This film was good, and Ken was my favorite character. I love how Barbie tells him he needs to find himself and find someone who loves him for who he is, and it's not Barbie. As well Barbie sees how the real world views her and how she wants all girls to see more than a fascist, and Ken wants to be accepted. You feel for both Barbie and Ken.

I had a fun time watching it. It was well-written and a fun film to watch. I'm finally glad I watched it because it's an entertaining movie, and that's all it needs to be. I had a great time with this movie. The characters and the story are good, too. Yes, the movie has gender politics, which would annoy some people, but it doesn't ruin the film because it's just good movie. Like I wrote before I had fun with this movie.
It sucks that Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig didn't get nominated for best actress and director. Even Ryan Gosling agrees they should have been nominated because they did a great job with this movie.

I'm not Kenough was great.
Overall I give this film an 8 out of 10. Barbie is a fun movie to watch.

Akira Toriyama Tribute

Akira Toriyama Tribute.

Yesterday we lost a great man, the creator of Dragonball himself Akira Toriyama. This man got me into anime because I remember watching Dragonball Z for the first time when I was six and I remember just being hooked on it. Dragonball Z was the first anime I ever watched and since then I love anime.
I have loved Dragonball Z since I was a kid and I still love it to this day. When I heard the news of Akira's death last night I was just in shock, he was only 68 years old. I'll never get a chance to tell him that he made my childhood and that he inspired so many people out there.
The Dragonball series is still loved to this day from Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball Super.
(To be nice GT but he didn't write that show.)
These characters he created are memorable and beloved by so many.
Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, and many more.
My deepest condoles to his family and friends. The anime and manga community lost a legend but he will never be forgotten. Akira Toriyama thank you for your work and thank you for making my childhood awesome not just mine everyone else's with Dragonball.
Akira Toriyama
1955-2024
Rest in Power
Creator of Dragonball.
His work will live on forever.

Mulan Review

My Review of Mulan.
Mulan is one of my favorite Disney films. In my opinion, Mulan is the best Disney Princess because she saved all of China and is the only Disney Princess with the high death count.

I know crazy right.

Mulan is the best Disney Princess in my opinion, and she's an inspiring character to all girls and even boys. As a boy, I looked up to her and the scenes of her struggling in the army and not giving up because she used her wits. She becomes a skilled soldier through hard work and overcoming odds, and most of all doesn't give up even if she feels lost because she will always do the right thing. I love characters like that who inspire us not to give up.
Mulan is a movie about a girl named Mulan, voiced by Ming-Na Wen, who takes her father's place in the imperial army against the Huns. The film dives into Mulan's wondering who she is and her desire to bring honor to her family. In the opening, she's trying to get approved by the matchmaker. Still, she messes it up with her father, mother, and grandma, one of the coolest characters in the film. Still love her and support her. When news of the Huns invading China came out, every man from each family joined the Imperial Army. Her father is too ill to fight, and she doesn't want him to go to war. They have a bad argument, and she decides to steal her father's sword and armor and take his place in the army.
One of the coolest moments in the film is when she decides to take her father's place. Just the silence in that scene and the music playing it's the pic scene. You could hear the music when you see this scene.

Now, one of the best characters in the film is Mushu, who is voiced by Eddie Murphy. He's one of the funniest characters in the movie, and he's a dragon who wants to be Mulan's family guardian again. Mushu was one of the best characters in this film. He's better in this than he was in the second film. I also found it funny when he teaches Mulan how to be a man and his relationship with the cricket. Mushu is one of the best characters because he wants to be a guardian again and admits to Mulan. She did it to save her father, and he only helped himself because her ancestors don't like him. Ultimately, he helps Mulan save China and becomes a Guardian again.
I still wonder what was the story with that one ancestor who lost his head because of him.

Li Shang is another great character in the film. He's Mulan love interest and captain of his own, given to him by his father, General Li. He wants to create the best army in China and make his father proud, too. Shang is one of the coolest characters in this film, and I love the song Make a Man Out of You. That song is great to work out. Shang is also skilled warrior and he is a great captain to his men.

It's interesting how fans consider Shang the first Bisexual Disney Prince because if you rewatch the film. He's clearly in love with Mulan, but there are signs he likes Ping, her male disguise, too. Which has led people to think Li Shang might be bisexual. To be fair, it does make sense, and there are some signs he's bisexual. That's why people were pissed he was cut from the live-action remake.

Hardwork, Determination, and Not Giving up can help you accomplish impossible goals.
At first he kicked Mulan out and she got the arrow and he realize he was wrong about her.

One of the most heartbreaking scenes is when he learns his father is dead, and it's a dark scene for a Disney film. The characters have a musical number of A Girl Worth Fighting For, which stops midway as they see the destroyed village.
This scene shocked many viewers who saw this movie for the first time. They were all dancing and singing, but they stopped halfway through when they saw this burned village.

This is a sad but powerful scene because it shows how awful war is.
Shang mourns his father, and Mulan mourns for him. She places the doll belonging to a little girl before the sword. It's an emotional scene and shows how awful war can be and how many innocent lives can be lost. When Mulan finds that doll, it shows she's a girl worth fighting for. She was only a child, and her life was taken too soon. Mulan's reaction to the doll says it all.
Still we all know this film has a happy ending.

I love Yao, Ling, and Chien Po, voiced by Harvey Firestien, Gedde Watanabe, and Jerry Tondo. These three are some of the best characters in the film. They are funny and heroic, even when they are in drag they are bad ass.
These three had me laughing, and I liked how Mulan was revealed as a woman they tried to save her. It shows that even though they are shocked, they don't care if she's a woman because she saved their lives and defeated the Hun Army.

The film's main villain is Shun Yu, voiced by the late Miguel Ferrer, and we need to find out about Shaun Yu's true motives for conquering China. Although he does mention The Great Wall was a challenge against his strength, he's still a scary villain. In one scene, he says, "How many men does it take to deliver a message?" and his archer replies. "One." Scene goes black. That is a dark scene for a kids film. It shows how evil this guy is, and I loved how Mulan defeated him in the end, blasting him with fireworks. It's also interesting when Shun Yu learns Mulan took away his victory. He doesn't say a woman. Instead, Shun Yu says the soldier from the mountain. The reason for that during the reign of Genghis Khan, he gave women better rights and allowed them to fight in the army. Just an interesting fact about Khan and another fun fact almost half of the world's people are descendants of Genghis Khan as he had many children. Another fun fact.
Another character many people can't stand is Chi-Fu, voiced by James Hong. I love James Hong. He is so funny. His character is annoying, but I get some laughs from this character because he's a prick and the only the girl who love him is his mother.

The Emperor is a interesting character, played by the late Pat Morita.
That line is so epic.
The cast in this film all did a great job voicing their characters, and the songs are very memorable, like Reflection, which is a great song, Make a Man out of You, and A Girl Worth Fighting For. These songs still hold up years later.
The film also had great animation and action; its ending is epic and a feel-good movie. You would expect Mulan and Shang to kiss at the end of the film, but they don't. They have dinner, and Mushu becomes a guardian again.
It's more realistic have a romance between the two. Dinner with her and family and see where it goes from there.

I give this film an 8 out of 10. It's a great film, and the character of Mulan is an inspiring character to everyone. She shows true courage, not giving up, doing the right thing, and being there for your friends and family.
Mulan is such a great childhood film and still holds up years later. It's a shame the remake failed so severely. They also did the characters dirty, getting rid of Shang and Mushu. What were they thinking?
Mulan is the best Disney Princesses and one of my favourite films from childhood. It still holds up like I wrote before.

Happy International Women's Day to all the great women I know.
Like my mom, sisters, friends, cousins, aunts, grandmas, and most of all, my girlfriend.
Thank you to all the great women out there who inspire all of us.

The Crow Review to celebrate 30 years of this classic.

The Crow Review
30th Anniversary.

To celebrate 30 years of this classic film, which is also a sad film to review as this was the last film Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee, starred in. He was sadly killed on set by a real bullet during a scene. So here is my review of The Crow to celebrate 30 years of this great film.

The film is about Eric Draven, a rock star who was planning to marry his girlfriend, Shelly Webster. However, this gang of criminals, T-Bird, Funboy, Skank, and Tin Tin, led by Top Dollar, raped Shelly and murdered Eric by stabbing him, shooting him, and throwing him off a building. A girl in the movie named Sarah is friends with Shelly and Eric, and she learns that Shelly died of her injuries. Sarah is devasted over their deaths but later learns that Eric is the Crow and is trying to avenge Shelly's death and his own death.
It's a very dark story, but it has a happy ending.
The Crow is a spirit that carries the souls of the dead into the next life, but if the person who died has unfinished or died a horrible, unjust death. The crow revives them to set things right, basically avenging their own deaths and the deaths of their loved ones.

The movie had some great action, had some funny moments, and heartfelt moments too, but this film could be scary to watch. Eric is a scary guy, but he's a good guy who wants to avenge his girlfriend and his own death. The villains are good in this film, and they are hateable. One of the best characters is Sgt Daryl Albrecht, played by Ernie Hudson, who helps Eric take down Top Dollar and his gang. I met Ernie Hudson once at Comic-Con, and he's a great guy. I did ask him about Brandon Lee, and he said Brandon was a great guy, a good friend and he knew Brandon before they made Crow. From what Ernie told me about Brandon Lee, he sounded like a really cool guy. Ernie said in a recent interview about the upcoming remake. The Crow ended with Brandon Lee, and he was the Crow. I totally understand were he's coming from like I don't think he plans to see the remake. To him the Crow ended with Brandon Lee and that's totally fair. He lost a friend and it's something any of us here can't get over loosing a good friend.
https://movieweb.com/ernie-hudson-says-the-crow-ended-with-brandon-lee-and-hes-done-with-any-remake/ Heres a link to his interview if you want to read more into it.

This is a great superhero goth film, and fans remember Brandon's Crow so fondly. This is the best Crow film because the other Crow films and a short lived tv-show was crap.
The movie's ending was epic and it ends on a happy note. It also has a beautiful tribute to Brandon and Elise, his fiancee.
The whole cast of this movie did a great job, especially Brandon Lee, and it's sad how this was his final film. It's like he had big plans after this movie. He was going to get married, he wanted to start a family, and no doubt, there were prominent roles he could have played in the future. I could have see him becoming a great action movie star and who knows he could have done some drama and comedy movies too. However, Brandon Lee's work will live on forever. His fiancee Elise found love again, and she's a married woman with a daughter. Brandon survived by his sister Shanon Lee and his mother Linda Lee.

The late Michael Massee played one of the villains, Funboy. He was the man who shot Brandon Lee in the scene where Crow goes after Funboy, shoots him and thinks he's dead, but The Crow rises up and kills him.
However, during the scene, the gun that was supposed to shoot blank bullets but someone accidentally put in a real bullet, and Michael shot the gun, and Brandon didn't get up. It was never supposed to happen. It was a freak accident.
Michael was traumatized by what happened, and he couldn't believe he killed his friend and he took a year off acting to cope with what happened. He managed to move on with his life with the help of his family and friends, but never forgot what happened that day. He even said he couldn't watch the Crow film after what happened.
Michael Massee once said in an interview
"I don't think you can get over something like that."
I can't imagine what that's like, but like he said you can't get over something like that. Still, Michael returned to acting and eventually he got married and had two children. He sadly passed away back in 2016 from stomach cancer.
Heres a link to his interview back in 2005 about the incident.

We are getting a Crow reboot with Bill Skarsgard, and many people don't like his look.
If it's like Sonic, I'm sure they can change it, but I'm giving this movie a shot when it comes out.
There have many attempts to reboot The Crow, and a lot of people didn't like the idea because we got crappy sequels. Some reboot attempts had many problems, and so many actors were lined up to play Eric Draven/The Crow. Mark Wahlberg, Bradly Cooper, Jason Momoa, Luke Evans, and Jack Huston were all offered and set to play Eric Draven, but production problems happened, cancelled reboots, and they all dropped out.
Still, I'll see this new Crow film; hopefully, it's good but I don't think it will be as good as the original.

I give the Crow a 8 out of 10. It's a great film from the 90s and still holds up 30 years later.

I dedicate this review to both Brandon Lee and Michael Massee.
Two amazing actors who will be remembered fondly for their acting and for the good men they were.
Go watch The Crow.
