Why X Men is not Outdated.

Why X Men is not Outdated

So this article I've written is about why the title and team name of the X Men is not outdated and why Marvel Studios should call their X Men film the X Men or The Uncanny X Men. In fact the X Men are known to be one of the most inclusive superhero teams in comics like they have huge cast of diversity, LGBT characters, and female characters the X Men represents everyone.

Now back in 2018 Victoria Alonso recently spoke in an interview and she said X Men was outdated because there were a lot of female superheroes on that team.
Now Alonso has gotten promotion at Marvel Studios which I congratulate her but I think she's wrong about what she said about X Men being outdated.
Let me tell you what she said about X Men really upset a lot of fans of the series because its such a well known brand. They have announce a film but it will be called The Mutants which is like that is a stupid name call them the X Men or maybe House of X but the team is still X Men.

What Alonso doesn't understand is that X Men is the team name has nothing to do with gender. The X Men represent people of society who have been rejected for their race, sexuality, religion, and for their disabilities. Another thing, originally Stan Lee was going to call them The Mutants but his publisher didn't like the name and he told Stan no one will know what a mutant is. So Stan came up with a new name and called them the X Men and his publisher loved it. Since then everyone has called this team the X Men when you think of mutants you think the X Men.

In fact heres a link to Stan Lee talking about the idea of X Men.
After watching this its too bad today's comic writers don't do what Stan did with his writing.

We grew up with X Men from the comics, the tv shows like X Men the animated series, X Men Evolution, and Wolverine and X Men, and of course we had the X Men films from Fox and remember in the First Class movie it is Moria who calls Xavier's team the X Men. So X Men is brand that is memorable and we can't see it being called anything else. I mean when the announce an X Men film people get excited for that because they know that brand but if they announce a Mutants film fans will be like mutants?? I thought they were the X Men.
Now don't get me wrong we have other X titles like X Force, X Factor, The New Mutants, Children of Atom, The Hellions, and Team X. However, those teams are different from the X Men they do their own thing the X Men don't do.

X Force they kill enemies of the mutant community the X Men don't kill.
X Force is the most popular out of all of them.
X Factor is a team of mutants formed by the government and they are so a detective agency too.

The New Mutants is a team takes on magical threats not the X Men have done that but they mostly handle the supernatural threats to mutants.

X Men is about a team that protects a world that hates and fears them for being mutants.
They are fighting to change people's minds and live in peace with humans.

That's what the X Men are another thing is most of the female characters in X Men don't care for the team being called X Men.
For example, in X Men Gold Kitty leads her team and calls them the X Men.
She doesn't have an issue with the name X Men what she wants to do is keep Charles's dream alive and fight for mutant rights and to show humans they are equals. That's what X Men want for humans and mutants to come together and be treated as equals.
Kitty is a great X Men character and she's well loved by so many fans.
She nor any female member never once complain about the name X Men in fact all the female characters that Alonso mentioned, always called the team the X Men and they even have lead the X Men. Because the word men doesn't mean its a men only team it's more than that like I said they are a team of whom society rejected because they are not considered human for their mutant abilities.
Storm who is one of the best leaders of the X Men and has lead them on countless missions. Calls her team the X Men and she's always seen Charles as a father in her life and she would continue his dream of bringing Mutants and Humans together.

See that's why I think Alonso hasn't bother to read the comics because X Men is not outdated. Calling it The Mutants or Team X or something like that would suck and not sell with fans. Like how about instead you make an X Men movie and then you can make more X movies like X Force, X Factor, New Mutants, or Hellions to build a MCU X Men cinematic universe like I really think Alonso needs to read more of the comics and should know the X Men name is about the people in society who have been rejected.
I mean if they announced that the team will called the X Men but the movie will be called House of X that would work with fans. But to shit on Stan Lee's creation by saying its outdated when it's not outdated you just need to read the comics. I mean Kevin Feige has said for years he's wanted to make an X Men film but now he's calling it the Mutants now. I got to tell ya that makes me and so many others worried that film will be called the Mutants something Stan Lee's publisher said that wouldn't sale with readers. Like again I mentioned if they call the film House of X but the team is still called X Men it would work for everyone.

I believe Alonso is wrong about X Men being outdated because I think she should read the series or watch the show. Hell, most female X Men fans call the team the X Men and I've never once heard any of them complain about the name they only care if the stories are good and if the series had really good female characters, because that's more important thing to have in stories good plot, good characters, and good artwork. Some of the best X Men characters are female like Storm, Rogue, Kitty, Psylocke, Emma Frost, Dazzler, Jubliee, and Polaris. Those characters are very popular because those characters are well written, relatable, and they are strong female leads in their own solo series and good leaders to the X Men.
That's more important is the characters and stories that are written like who cares if the team is called the X Men what matters is the team has to be good and the story has to be good. However, X Men should still be called X Men like there was all female team and it was called the X Men because X Men means humanity.

Now that's why I think X Men is not outdated, because the X Men represent people in society who have been rejected or treated as outcasts by the main society just because they were born different. It's sad but things are changing now a days. I hope whatever they announce in the future, they won't change the name X Men to the Mutants like just call them the X Men its brand everyone knows and loves. But seeing the direction Marvel Studios it is going it's likely they are going to do something that will upset fans, but we will just have to wait and see.
I still want the next X Men film to do Cyclops, Storm, Archangel, Psylocke, Kitty, Gambit, and Rogue justice because they got wasted in the Fox films. Like the X Men movies from the MCU should focus characters who were wasted by the old movies.
What do you think do you think, should the MCU X Men film be called X Men or do you agree with Alonso's view that its outdated?
If so what name would work like House of X?
