Tales of Middle Earth: Aragorn The Series

My Aragorn Tv Show Cast and Ideas.

So as you know or well who am I kidding you all know about this but Amazon is going to make a Lord of the Rings tv show. They're also making Wheel Of Time and The Dark Tower, but let us focus on Lord of the Rings.

Now when this was announced a lot of fans like myself were worried and upset about the idea and that Amazon was only doing this for a cash grab and we didn't want them to remake the franchise.

Let's face it Peter Jackson gave us an awesome film franchise that is a classic and the Hobbit films are good too, not as good as Lord of the Rings. However, Amazon announced they would not remake Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. At first many fans were relieved and kind of more excited because many thought Amazon was going to adapt The Silmarillion, Children of Hurin, Beren and Luthien, Unfinished Tales, or The Fall of Gondolin.

Well, its no go.
It does suck we're not going to explore these stories but Amazon wants to focus on everyone's favourite character Aragorn. Amazon's budget will be one billion dollars and they're going to do five seasons of Aragorn, like wow just wow. I think that's a cool idea exploring a younger Aragorn like seeing him growing up in Rivendell, his time with Dunedain, his travels to Rohan and Gondor, and him traveling to Harad and Eastlands the kingdoms that sided with Sauron. Tolkien never wrote what happens to Aragorn during his adventures before Lord of the Rings so Amazon will likely make up their own stories on what happened during his adventures. Hopefully, they remind faithful to Tolkien's world but they will make changes like adding more diversity, create new characters, gave us Easterlings and Harads who are good guys who actually don't like Sauron, but don't expect any good orcs though lol.

Now here my cast for the Amazon show and I add some actors to play characters that I created for the show. Amazon will make their own original characters and hopefully their well written and we grow like these characters a lot.

Robert Aramayo as Aragorn/Strider
Now let's be clear here, Viggo Mortenson will always be Aragorn he is Aragorn, but he is now fifty-nine years old and he's too old to play Aragon. It was hard casting a new Aragorn like for me my aging rate was late teens the to early thirties. I looked up many actors who could be good as Viggo also I wanted to find an actor that resembles Viggo in a way. To me, Robert seems like the right choice and he looks a bit like Viggo and he's a really good actor as well. I think the first season would focus on Aragorn traveling with Elrond's sons Elladan and Elrohir to meet the Dunedin and teaching him how to fight, meeting Arwen, and basically learning how to be a ranger. Also maybe have the orc that killed his father be the villain in the first two seasons and Aragorn goes after this orc because he wants to avenge his father's death. In the season finale, he discovers who's true lineage. Season 2 could be him becoming the chief of Dunedin and meeting Gandalf for the first time. Season 3 could be him traveling to Rohan and Gondor were meets a young Theoden and his father King Thengel. We could see him meet a young Denethor and his father too. Season four could have him traveling to Harad and maybe we meet Harads who are against Sauron and don't want to fight for him. The final season would be him hunting Gollum and that would set up Lord of the Rings. That's just my ideas for the show.

Lucy Boynton as Arwen
Now recasting Liv Tyler was hard too because she was amazing as Arwen. The actress I choose for Arwen is Lucy Boyton she was in Sing Street and she's a beautiful and talented actress. Arwen would be in the first season and would appear again in season 2 and in the final season. We would see how the two met and how they fell in love. In the final season Aragorn would propose to her and makes the vow to her and her father Elrond that he will take the throne of Gondor and reunite the kingdoms of Gondor and Arnor.

Michael Sheen as Elrond
Now this was hard casting Hugo Weaving was awesome Elrond and I don't think he would come back as Elrond because he's fifty-eight years old. I don't think he is down to play Elrond again. I looked for some actors who looked like Hugo in a way but my choice for a replacement would have to be Michael Sheen. Now I know he seems like a weird choice but its best I could think but hey there possibility that Hugo might come back for Elrond even in his sixties but maybe not so Michael Sheen is my choice for the role. Also, Elrond in the show would be a father figure to Aragon and he gives him the name Estel to protect his identity from Sauron. Elrond would be appear first, second, and final season of the series.

Ian McKellen as Gandalf
Ian McKellen has said he wants to return because let's face it he is Gandalf and yeah seventy-nine years old but if the late Christopher Lee can Saurman at ninety-two so can Ian. Gandalf would appear in the second the season where he meets Aragon when he is the leader of the Dunedain and he travels with Aragon to Rohan and Gondor. He would also appear in the final season because that would be The Hunt For Gollum. Amazon he wants to do it and I say let him be Gandalf again.

Orlando Bloom as Legolas
Now I don't know if Orlando would be down to come back but if he did it would make sense because Battle of the Five Armies has him going to meet Aragorn, so why not. Bring Orlando Bloom back as Legolas. Legolas would be in the first and second and third season.

Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd as an older Merry and Pippin
Dominic Monaghan has spoken that he would return to the franchise only if he plays an older version telling tales to young hobbits. I think this would be a good idea like have an old Merry and Pippin tell Aragorn's story to some young hobbit children like their children and Sam's children. It would be a really cool idea to do that. Hopefully they these two actors will come back for this show.

James and Oliver Phelps as Elladan and Elrohir

Yup the Weasley twins as Elrond's twin sons. Elrond's sons weren't in the films but this could be a good opportunity to introduce in them show as Aragorn's brother figures. I looked for twin actors for the roles and these two were the only I can see playing the roles. They would appear first three seasons and final season.

Clive Standen as Arathorn
Aragorn's father would be in the show but only in the first episode of the first season. We see Arathorn's death defending his family and after hearing stories about his father Aragorn's goal is to avenge his father. Arathorn was killed by a orc who shot in him through his eye.

Hayley Atwell as Gilraen
After the death of her husband, Gilraen takes her son Aragon to Rivendell to keep him safe from the forces of Sauron. I think Hayley is a good choice for this character in this show, Also I loved her as Peggy Carter and Cinderella's mom.

Guy Pearce as Steward Ecthelion ll of Gondor
Ecthelion was Steward of Gondor and he is also the father of Denethor and grandfather of Boromir and Faramir. He would appear in the third season.

Alexander Skargard as King Thengel

King Thengel is the King of Rohan and father of future King Theoden and grandfather Eomer, Eowyn, and Theodred. He would be introduced in season three.

Now here are some characters that I made because knowing Amazon they will likely create their own new characters.

Gstaf Skarsgard as Gnoth the Cheifslayer
A somewhat original character for the Amazon show I don't own this picture by the way. Gnoth is the orc that killed Aragorn's father Arathorn and he's the main villain of season one and two. He's cruel, violent, a great swordsman, a great archer, and takes great pride in killing Arathorn and has vowed to kill Aragon and end the bloodline of the House of Isildur. It's just an idea for the big bad guy for Aragon to fight in the first two seasons of the show and just an idea for Amazon. Aragorn's father was killed by an orc and I think it would make sense to have that orc as the villain in the first two seasons.

Rangers of the North aka The Dunedain are more Original characters and heads up it's going to be diverse. Amazon will do this and I'm cool with it but I'm just hoping Amazon just focus on the story and characters and that's it.
Ioan Gruffudd as Renvan
Renvan is an original character he was best friends with Arathorn until his death and he's in middle age still fights against the dark forces. His main goal is to see Aragorn succeed his father and lead the Dunedain against Sauron. He's tough, smart, he's the captain Dunedain until a Cheif returns, he's an excellent swordsman, and he has a pet falcon named Farah. He has a wife named Brenda and three children two sons named Addreoryn, Dag, and a daughter named Mari.

Derek Luke as Foldan
Foldan is another original character for the show. Foldan is charming, friendly, he's half Rohirrim, he loves to hunt and in his spare time he crafts bows. Foldan is said to be the best hunter in Dunedain and he trains Aragorn in the skills of hunting orcs, trolls, and animals. He makes Aragorn's bow and that is the bow he uses in the Lord of the Rings. Foldan has a wife named Hawine and a daughter named Beylid but they live in Rohan for safety, as he wants his family to be safe from the orcs who running around in the north.

Katrina Law as Brenda
I already spoke about the character when I talked about Renvan. Unlike some wives and mothers in Middle Earth, she's a ranger and she goes out with her husband to fight orcs. Brenda is noble, kind, strong will, she's a healer who learned from the elves of Lothlorien, she's a skilled fighter and she very caring mother and wife. She teaches Aragorn how to heal the sick and how to stain the corruption of Mordor. She's like a second mother figure to him.

Daniel Wu as Hordr
Another original character. Hordr is a ranger who is best known for scouting and tracking. Hordr is quiet, smokes a lot, wise, and loves to tell stories. Hordr is one of the wisest of the Dunedain and often likes to tell the history of Gondor and Arnor, the Fall of Numenor, and the War of Wraith. This is where we can dive in more the history of Middle Earth. Like Hordr is not just the ranger that trains Aragorn in scouting and tracking he also teaches him the history of his ancestors and much more.

Pana Hema Taylor as Erik/Yumin
Another original character. Erik is often quiet, he doesn't like talking about his origins, he is a skilled swordsman, and he is tough but he has a good heart. Erik is half Easterling and his Eastern name is Yumin but he hides from the Dunedain because he fears they will exile if knew his true origins. Aragorn and Erik become best friends but it doesn't end well by that death. Aragorn learns from Erik to not judge a person from where they're from but by the actions of their character.  So yeah this would be the first Easternling character we see who doesn't support Sauron he is strongly against Sauron and armies of Mordor.

These rangers would appear in season one, two, three, and five. Not season four though because Aragorn would be traveling alone to Harad and The Eastlands.

Season 4 would have Aragon Travel to Harad and Eastlands, a place we haven't seen yet.
I remember watching Lord of the Rings and there was a scene were Faramir sees a dead Harad and doesn't mock his corpse, but actually wonders if this man was truly evil. The show could dive into more of the Easternling, Harad, and Corsair culture like maybe we see their POV and maybe we see why they support Sauron, like maybe they want a better land for their people to live in. That could be one of the reasons why they are fighting for Sauron and there could be some who don't want to join Sauron and that's why season four should be Aragorn traveling east and south and seeing their culture and learning why they support Sauron. Let's remember there are no good or evil on both sides of the race of men just grey characters.
Whatever happen to these two?
Not to mention, in the lore they talked about the two blue wizards who traveled east and south to middle earth to convince The Easterlings and The Harads to stop supporting Sauron and worshiping Morgoth. This is a storyline that has not be done yet we don't know what happen to them and Amazon could dive into this mystery story as well. Aragorn doesn't just go East and South to understand their culture and why they support Sauron. In fact, Gandalf would ask Aragon to search for the two blue wizards and what became of their fate.

Here some more original characters for the show and their Easternlings, Harad, and Cosairs. Here is also my two choices for the Blue Wizards.

Malcolm McDowell and Keith David as The Blue Wizards Morinehtar and Romestamo

The Two Blue Wizards are Tolkien's biggest mystery because in Unfinished Tales we never find out what happen to them. All that we know is they travel east and south to get the Easterlings and Harads who do not follow Sauron or worship Morgoth to rebel against those who are supporting Sauron. The Blue Wizards have never been done before and now they were mention in The Hobbit Unexpected Journey. We never see them on film but since we're getting a TV show, we likely could see these guys. Tolkien did plan to write another lore to explain what happen to the Blue Wizards but he died before he could tell it. There are many theories on what happen to these two but Amazon will likely tell their own story on what happen to the blue wizards, it may piss off fans or fans might like it. Now the Tolkien family may not like how Amazon would tell us what happen to these two mystery characters. Still, I think Amazon would do a better job than Shadow of War games did with lore.

Callum Keith Rennie as Lord Yazoth of the Cosairs
Another original character. Yazoth is cruel, arrogant, only seeks to see Gondor destroyed, as well he loves to drink and raid villages, and Yazoth would be the first human villain in a middle earth story. Yazoth is also the Lord of the Cosairs that Aragorn slays during his adventures in Rohan and Gondor. The Lord of the Cosairs and the orc that killed Arathorn are canon but they don't have names nor they appear in the books. He would be secondary villain in season 3 but only season 3

Eric Bana as Aros the Black Numenor
Another Original character. Aros is one of the black Numenor who are servants to Sauron. He is evil, cruel, heartless, desires nothing but power, and he is a descent of one of the Kingsmen of Numenor who rebelled against the Valar. He is the lord of Umbar and plans to invaded Gondor and claim the throne. Aros also practices in dark magic and one of his main goal is to bring back the kingdom of Numenor and rule it as it's King. Aros would be the main villain in season three and four.

Keshia Castle Hughes as Gali
Another original character. Gali is an Easterling warrior and unlike some Easterlings, Gali doesn't support Sauron but she has to because the Easterlings believe that Sauron will give them a better home. Also one of the Nazgul was Easterling so that's one of the reasons why the Easterlings fight for Sauron. Gali is cunning, a very skilled fighter, good, brave, and actually hates war. Gali real motives are to see her people abandon Sauron and unite with the West and putting an end to Sauron's forces and see her kingdoms untie with the west in peace.

Freema Agyeman as Queen Ralah
Another Original Character. Ralah is the queen of a Harad clan who is in secret rebelling against Aros. Ralah does not want her people to fight for Sauron and wishes for her clan to be free of Aros's rule. Ralah is one of the few Harads we see who doesn't support Sauron because like I said before Amazon will likely play this route with there being Harads and Easterlings who don't support Sauron. Ralah is gentle, strong-willed, a caring leader, tough but has a good heart, and simply wants to keep her sons and her people safe from Sauron.

George Kosturos as Captain Nolan
Another Original Character. Nolan is an Easterling just like Gali who doesn't want to fight for Sauron but it is forced too. Nolan is the half-brother of Erik but he didn't know of his half-brother Erik and one reason he fights for Sauron is that he wants to see his people being given a better life and better lands. Nolan has a sense of honour, respect, he can be aggressive to his soldiers but only to prepare them for war. He is also a Captain of a group of Easterlings soldiers. In truth Nolan hates Sauron and secretly remains faithful to Valar along a few other Easterlings

Tom Wlaaschiha as King Uzad
Another Original Character. Uzad is the king of a Harad Clan he is devoted to Sauron and seeks to destroy all of Gondor and Rohan. Uzad is cruel, violent, intimidatingly, and desires to see his clan rule all of the west.

Alex Marall Jr as General Aqa
Another Original character. Aqa is a general of a Harad army and his King Uzad's right hand man but is also secretly plotting to over throw him. Simply because he is power hungry and believes that Sauron will not care who leads the Harads as long as they help him conquer middle earth.

Now for the last season I think it should be the Hunt for Gollum. Now as some of you may or may not know there is a fan film of the Hunt For Gollum. Still there is more they could add to the story and one of the big things is Andy Serkis is not going to come back because he's already spoken about the show and he said he's not involved at all. If that's the case I have an actor who can replace him and does great Gollum impression.

The actor's name is Liam O'Brian he's a voice actor and he voiced Gollum in the Shadow of Mordor games.
He's the next best thing to replace Andy Serkis as Gollum, his voice is very slimmer to Andy's and I will say no can replace Andy Serkis no matter what. Gollum would be in the final season and the final season would set up Fellowship of the Ring, that also means after the show is finish you watch the movies after.
Just for the record I do not draw these pictures
they were done by others.
All Credit goes to them.

So that's my cast and ideas for a the Aragorn TV Show let me know what you think. Also latest updates Amazon has hired the writers of Star Trek 4 to write the show so thats some good news. I hope those guys will do a good job with the project.  All I can say Amazon don't FUCKUP!!
