My Top Eight Favourite Zelda Games

My Top Eight Favourite Zelda Games.

To celebrate 40 years of Zelda, here are my top 8 Zelda games. I will be honest: two of them I never beat; I just watched them being beaten. Still, I have fond memories of playing these games, and here are my top 8 favourite Zelda games.
It's hard to believe it's been forty years of Zelda, and next year is the film, and let's hope it delivers. Here is my top eight favourite Zelda games.

8. Four Swords Adventures

Now, Four Swords was a fun game, but I always wanted to play it with other people. You need a Game Boy Advance and a cable to play it with others. You couldn't even use a GameCube controller for multiplayer. Still, Four Swords Adventures lets you play as four Links, which is fun because you make up how each has their personality. For me, Green was the leader and the voice of reason; Red was tough and had a bad-boy attitude; Blue was the nice guy of the group, didn't like fighting but wouldn't cower from foes; and Purple was the cool and the brains of the group. Still, Four Swords was a fun game from childhood. It would have been cooler if it were 3D instead of 2D.

7. Major's Mask
Now, to be honest, I never did beat Majora's Mask, and the reason is its water temple, which lots of people agree with me on. Still, Major's Mask was a fun game, and I love the different versions of Link like Korki, Goron, and Zoro Link as well. I love Firece Denity Link, but it's way too overpowered. However, Major's Mask was one thing I did find annoying, and it had a time limit because a big moon was going to crash due to Major's Mask, which Skull Kid was possessed by. Overall, I had some fun moments with the game, but it was annoying that I had to save rupees at a bank when I had to reset.

6. A Link to the Past
Now, A Link to the Past: I played the game, but, like Majora's Mask, I never beat it. However, I really enjoy the store of this game because A Link to the Past has some of the best gameplay and storytelling. Plus, this game has a great thrill of adventure to it, the idea of exploring a big world, and you, the player, going on a quest to save Hyrule from Ganon. That's what makes this game great because of the thrill of adventure and being the hero of your own story.

5. Wind Waker
Wind Waker was another favourite of my childhood, but god damn was this game frustrating, especially during the Triforce of Courage quest, like oh my god it took a year to beat that quest. Hell, we didn't have YouTube back then to help us, only guidebooks. I will give Nintendo credit for changing the Triforce quest in the remake, because they saw how much fans hated the game. I finally beat the game, and I love Wind Waker's storytelling, its graphics, the dungeons were challenging and fun, and its music was amazing.
This is a great game from childhood, and it holds up because it continues the Adult timeline from Ocarina of Time.

4. Twilight Princess
I love Twilight Princess because it is one of my favourite Zelda games, but it's also very dark: you learn that the ancient hero is Ocarina of Time Link, who died a sad death, and the Link we play is his reincarnation. Personally, I always consider Twilight Princess Link to be a direct descendant of Link and Malon, since he has an Epona, to be honest. Still, one of the things I loved about Twilight Princess was the wolf transformation. As someone who loves wolves, I love this game for this one reason. As well, the final battle against Ganondorf was epic, and most of the temples and dungeons were pretty hard. Also, Minda was both annoying and a cool companion in the game. I also like how this is set in the Child Timeline after Major’s Mask. I love this game, and I once beat it within two days.

3. Breath of the Wild
Now, Breath of the Wild, this game was the shit like the moment I played, and I saw all of Hyrule in its glory. I shed a tear. I was like, " It's so beautiful, like I could hear the Jurassic Park music playing in the background. Breath of the Wild was something new we got from a Zelda game, like we can explore any place, even go to the final boss without any build-up to it. We could finally claim that they gave Link a stamina bar because they wanted it to be more realistic as well. When Link is in a snowy area or lava, he either freezes or burns alive. Also, this was the first Zelda game that had voice acting, and I've met the voice actress of Zelda in this game. This game has great graphics, and the combat is good. My only problem was the weapons breaking after so many hits, which was annoying. They should have blacksmiths in the game that could fix your weapons for you. As well, I love how you can just beat the bosses with any weapon, not a specific weapon. Breath of the Wild is a great Zelda game.

2. Ocarina of Time
Now, this is the game of all our childhoods; we all played it, and Ocirana of Time is a favourite of mine from my childhood. Now, when I played this game, I loved it, but like everyone else, I hated that Water Temple. So many sympathize with me on how brutal that temple was. I finally beat it with the help of one of my friends. Still, despite that, I love Ocriana of Time, and like my favourite temples were the forest temple, fire temple, spirit temple, but water temple, you know how I feel about that, and the shadow temple was nightmare fuel. Overall, I love this game and the chest-opening moments. If you look at them now, it ruins the fun of the player seeing what they got from the chest because they want Link to be more amazed. This game is great, and Ocarina of Time is also the Zelda Game that set the timelines of the Adult, Child, and Hero Failed. Ocarina of Time was the definitive Zelda game that set the stage for future games, and I will be honest. Depending on how the movie is made, adapting Ocarina of Time is the right Zelda game to adapt, but they are likely writing an original story.

and my favourite Zelda Game of all time is...

1. Tears of the Kingdom
Yes, I know, but Tears of the Kingdom was such a great game, and it was epic. Like, I loved this version of Ganondorf, like his laugh and voice were incredible. Now, this game was hard, like I struggled with the game, and I had to power up like crazy in the game, but I love Tears of the Kingdom. I also love how this game hints that Link and Zelda are romantically involved.
Seriously, this game is hinting at romance.
I also love how you create things in this game and use them to destroy or help you fly. As well the companions in the game were great a lot better than Navi.
There were some hard bosses, shrines, and sidequests that were really hard to beat. Overall, Tears of the Kingdom is my favourite Zelda game of all time.

It's dangerous to go alone! Take this.
So that's my top eight favourite Zelda Games. I love the Legend of Zelda and I always will. My late grandpa loved it too, and so does the rest of my family. Here's to celebrating 40 years of The Legend of Zelda, and thank you, Nintendo, for giving us this franchise that has kept us entertained and inspired us.
So that's my top eight favourite Zelda Games. Let me know what you think and tell me what are your top favourite Zelda Games.
But Courage need not be remembered...
For it is never forgotten.
