Why we are getting sick of Disney Live Action Remakes.

Why we are getting sick of Live Action Remakes!

After that awful Peter Pan and Wendy, or Wendy and Peter Pan as I call it. That film, to me, basically is the last straw. Don't get me wrong, Pinnichio was horrible, but not the amazing Netflix one. These remakes have got to stop. One thing that pissed me off about the Peter Pan remake is that they downgrade Peter Pan into a weak character who's not even the main star of this film. Wendy is an unlikable character who represents that growing up wasn't bad, but they made her unlikeable. Also, the fact that she doesn't want to be a mom is not her character. She wanted to be a mom and write stories about Peter Pan, and I hated the dialogue in this film. Worst of all, they make Captain Hook sympathetic! What is with this sympathetic villain trait? We need to see more villains we love to hate because they are so evil and twisted. We also want to see well-written, likable protagonists who inspire us not to give up.
This is by far the worst Disney remake made by a talented director.
I recommend just watching the original animated film, the 2003 film that did both Peter and Wendy better, and there is always Hook too.

Live-action remakes are just getting brutal to watch. I'm not excited about Little Mermaid. That movie has been causing such a feud between fans and Disney. I have nothing against Haley Baily playing Ariel. I think she's a very talented actress and singer, and she didn't deserve to be harassed online. I just don't like this remake.
If you don't like how the movie is written or made, that's fine but don't hate on the actor for doing their job.
I don't like that it's another remake because all the characters look bad, like Flounder, Sebastian, and Scully, who they gender-swap. They are changing the songs because they came off as problematic, like Kiss, the Girl. I'm like, but in the movie, I'm pretty sure Ariel was the one who wanted to kiss Eric, and he didn't want to, but we know she had to kiss him to remain a human. They are changing the ending of the film because no doubt Ariel will defeat Ursula despite the fact Eric is the one who does it because, hey, she saved his life in that storm, and he returns the favor and saves her life. Shows how much they love each other and will have each other's back. I don't think this film looks good because I'm sick of these remakes, and I'm not the only one.
In my opinion, the only good live-action remakes are Cinderella and Jungle Book. They were written by two great directors who added more to the story and gave the main characters more depth and development. It's too bad other directors of live-action remakes didn't do this because they change too much of the story and create stuff that just doesn't work. Although I know Jon Favreau made that awful Lion King remake, but, hey, some of our favorite directors can make bad films once in a while. It happens.
Look at the live-action Mulan movie. It ruined the character of Mulan because, in the animated film, we see her struggle with her training in the army until she uses her wits and figures out to get the arrow from that large wooden pole. We see Mulan get better through hard work, learning from her mistakes, and saving all of China from the Huns. In the live-action remake, they make her already perfect at this stuff.

Also, look at Beauty and the Beast remake. They just created more plot holes, and you know when the Beast freaks out at Belle for being in the West Wing, and he feels regret after yelling. In the live-action remake, he just looks back at the rose, not showing any regret. Someone pointed this out, and they were right. It ruins that moment in the animated film where the Beast was wrong, and he saves Belle from the wolves. In the live-action remake, he cares more about the rose than her. Also, in that remake, one of my friends pointed out that Gaston suffered from shell shock from the war, which was a weird thing to add to the character.

I will say if Disney just remaking their films didn't have enough story or were poorly received, that would be okay. I want a good Sword in the Stone remake because there is so much to tell. I want to see an Atlantis the Lost Empire remake because it would make a good live-action remake and fix the issues some critics had with it, and of course, there is the Black Cauldron which they can quickly fix because it's based on the Chronicles of Prydain. See these remakes. Audiences would get behind because they could be better films. Remaking great animated films from the 90s is a bad idea.

I mean, right now, we have the writers guild strike, and I hope this makes Disney think, you know what we need to create original ideas and hire good writers who can make something original or remake something that was not well praised by critics and wasn't box office successes. Because these remakes have to stop, we are just tired of this. We want more original and story-driven ideas that don't shove agendas down your throat. These remakes are just cash cows and that's it.
You see, Disney is getting owned by Illiumation.
Still, I think most Disney Fans agree we are sick of these remakes, not just them but Disney hiring bad writers and giving us crap. The Mario Bros movie is way better than Lightyear, Strange World, and Red. Audiences prefer Mario because it doesn't downgrade its leads, writes better villains, and is a fun movie. Disney needs to listen to their fans and audience. Just give them fun, story-driven films and shows.

That's all we want!
Let me know what you think. Are you getting sick of these remakes too? Let me know, and leave a comment.
