A Real Pain Review

A Real Pain Review

So, I saw A Real Rain last weekend, and here's my review of it. It was a good film. It was directed by Jesse Eisenberg, who also starred in it, along with Kieran Culkin, who won an Oscar for this film. The film is about two cousins named Benji and David who travel to Poland to see their grandmother's house out of respect for her after her death. They are in a tour group. You see the cousins bond with the other tour members and what they have gone through in their lives.

Benji and David, have always hung out with each other, but David is so busy with his job and family life that he can't hang out with Benji. The two have a love/hate for each other which I won't go into further detail I don't want to spoil it.
The film shows how it's hard to keep in touch with people we know because we have other things going on, whether it's friends or family. This film is sad, too, because of how these two cousins mourn their grandmother and how she escaped Poland during WW2.
I like one scene in the film, where the characters place stones on some graves, which means you are not forgotten.
The cast all did a great job, and Kieran was very deserving of his Oscar win. Jesse Eisenberg was fantastic in this and did a great job making this film. I hope to see more of his work in the future. I enjoyed this film, and it was good and emotional. I give this film an 8 out of 10.
The film was filmed in Poland and let me tell ya, it makes you want to go to Poland.
