Frankenweenie Review

 

Frankenweenie is one of my favorite Tim Burton films, but also the saddest one because it's a movie we dog people can relate to. We all know how Victor felt when Sparky died it's not an easy thing to go through. 

We all have wanted to bring our pet dog or cat back to life.

But hey, our dogs will live on in our hearts and memories. 

Now the film is about a kid named Victor who loses his dog, Sparky, his best friend, and he decides to bring him back to life. Inspired by his science teacher's use of galvanism to bring his dog back to life, some kids learn about it and want to do the same, threatening to blackmail Victor. Of course, things go bad as the other pets turn into monsters. 

The claymation in this film was great, and black-and-white was perfect for this type of movie. I also love how all the characters are named after horror characters, and each animal is based on a supernatural being.

The film had many intense moments and heartbreaking scenes, but it does have a happy ending.

This film is also a lot of fun, and the voice cast is great. This is a fun but emotional film to watch and one of Tim Burton's best works.

I give Frankenweenie a 9 out of 10.

The Fly Review 

Celebrating 40 years of this horror/sci-fi classic.

The Fly was one of the grossest and most terrifying films I've seen, but it's still a great horror-sci-fi classic. The film is about a scientist named Seth Brundle who builds a teleportation machine that he tests on animals. It works, but when he tests it, a fly flies into the machine, and he starts to develop strange agility. Unlike Spider-Man, he doesn't just transform into a Flyman; he becomes a fly monster.

Yeah, the transformation in the film is disturbing and gross, but the makeup is great. The film had a lot of scary moments, and you feel for Seth, and he suffers a fate worse than death. 

The love story between Seth and Veronica is heartbreaking because they love and support each other, and it's hard for Veronica, who wants to save Seth. Still, sadly, the only way to save him is to kill him when he fully turns into a monster. 

The film is well written and scary, and also a tragic love story. The Fly is a film you have to watch even though it is very gross, like what you are seeing right now; overall, it's a great horror film. The film's cast is great, including Jeff Goldblum, Geena Davis, and David Cronenberg.  

I give this film an 8 out of 10.

Army of Darkness Review

 

Army of Darkness Review

Army of Darkness is one of my favourite Horror comedy films and it's part of the Evil Dead Trilogy. The film is about Ash now stuck in the 1300s were he must find a way back to his own timeline. He must find the book of the dead that can send him back to his own time but Ash mistakley says the words to release the book of dead and the dead rise led by Ash's evil clone. 

Ash should have had that sage come with him or at least practice saying those words.

The film had some great set designs, the visual effects of the film are good for it's time. The action, horror, and the comedy of the film were great. One of my favourite moments in the film is when the army of darkness marches to the castle and the music in the background. It is to me one of the best scenes in the film. 

I got to say the practical effects were great and look more real than what we get now a days. 

Despite how fake it looks it is scary still. Sam Raimi knows how to tell a horror film.

This film was also so funny too like Bruce Campbell he was born to play Ash. I just love his character and he just makes you laugh through out the whole film. He also did a great job playing Evil Ash. 

The cast of the film all did a great job like Embeth Davidtz, the late Marcus Gilbert, Bridget Fonda, Ian Abercrombie, Ted Raimi, and Richard Grove. This film is so much fun to watch for Halloween and it's part of the Evil Dead trilogy but I think you can watch this film without watching the first two. 

Also film has two endings one is he wakes up back in his time and kills the Deadite at his job and kisses his co-worker. This an alternate ending were he oversleeps and ends up the future and everything has been destroyed. This movie is such a blast and a great halloween film. It's so funny and scary at the same time. I give this film an 8 out of 10. It's a great film to watch for Halloween.

Obsession Review

So I saw Obsession, and here is my review...I like it a lot, but I got to tell ya this film was scary. The story is about a guy named Bear who has a crush on Nikki, but he's too nervous to tell her how he feels. Until he gets a wish willow, and well, let's face it: if you've seen the movie, you know his wish is for Nikki to love him back, but it backfires as she becomes obsessed with him and won't leave him alone. Some disturbing moments and jump scares made me jump out of my seat. Also, I think we can all agree that Nikki was the victim in this story; she was not the villain of the film. Bear honestly never should have used that wish, because they always say, "Careful what you wish for." Or he could have made a wish like I wish Nikki and I went on a date, " but in truth he should have just sucked it up and asked her out, and if she said no and wanted to be friends, you move on and find someone, which was right in front of him, but he was too stupid to see. 

Nikki was the victim, and you feel worse for him than you do with Bear because Bear was an idiot, and he shouldn't have made a wish like that. It’s funny because before Obsession, there were tons of stories that tackle this type of story, and the lesson is always: be careful what you wish for, and if that person only likes you as a friend, accept it and move on.

The cast of the film did a great job; Inde Navarrette was fantastic. She was scary, and we'll see her as Rogue in X-Men. Michael Johnson, Cooper Tomlinson, and Megan Lawless were great too.

I give Obsession an 8 out of 10. It's a fun film to watch for Halloween now, and I think Inde will do a great job as Rogue. She said she is already practicing the southern accent. 

Mandalorian and Grogu Review

 

Mandalorian and Grogu Review

So I saw The Mandalorian and Grogu, and here is my review...I liked it. I thought it was a fun film; it wasn't anything epic, but I still enjoyed it. This film had some good action and good effects, and the story is very simple: basically, it's Mando and Grogu going to find Jabba's son, Rotta Hutt, played by Jeremy Allen White, and he was one of the best characters in the film. Surprisingly, a Hutt is one of the best characters, and he's the only Hutt that is in great shape. The film's cast was good, and it is a fun movie; that's all it is. I give this film a 7 out of 10.  

Tony Review

Tony Review 

So I saw Tony, and here is my review...This was a great film, but it's very triggering. The film is based on the life of Anthony Bourdain, the famous chef who we all know from Parts Unknown. The film explores how he ended up in the restaurant business. I will say Tony does some questionable things in the opening, and he does a lot s you won't like, but he grows to be a better person. The film had some funny moments, and a lot of scenes that get to ya. Like, there are moments when you don't like Tony, but he later grows on you in the film because we all know Anthony went on to do great things, even though, sadly, he took his own life.

The cast of the film did a great job; Dominic Sessa was fantastic as Anthony Bourdain, Antonio Banderas was great, Emilia Jones was great, Leo Woodall was great; the whole cast was great. I really enjoyed this film, and I give it an 8 out of 10.

Coyote VS ACME Review

 

Coyote VS ACME Review

So I saw Coyote vs. Acme, and here's my review...I loved it. Like, this was a great film, and it is so funny too. Coyote vs. Acme: I fail to understand why WB canceled this film. It's so funny, and it's such a great film to watch. I had so much fun watching this film, and it is the best Looney Tunes film I've seen in such a long time.

So basically, after years of ACME screwing over Wild E Coyote, he decides to sue them, and this lawyer named Kevin Avery agrees to help sue ACME. However, we learn some dark secrets about ACME and why all the ACME products always blow up to the Looney Tunes.

Now the film's cast all do a great job, including Will Forte, Lana Condor, John Cena, Luis Guzman, and, of course, Eric Bauza; he is funny as the Looney Tunes. There were a lot of funny moments in the film and some heartfelt moments too. I really loved this film, and I had such a blast watching it. I highly recommend this film; if you love Looney Tunes, you will love it. I give this 9 out of 10.

I'll be honest, as a kid I was always rooting for the coyote to catch the Road Runner. I don’t know why, but I always wanted him to catch that Road Runner.  

Spider-Man Brand New Day Review

 

Spider-Man Brand New Day Review

So I saw Spider-Man Brand New Day here is my review of it. I loved it; this was one of the best MCU films I’ve seen by far. This was a great sequel with strong action and storytelling, and it had some funny moments.

The film is set four years after No Way Home, and we see Spider-Man fighting crime and taking down villains such as Scorpion, Tombstone, Boomerang, and Tarantula. Now Spider-Man faces a new threat, but I won’t give it away; we all know who's doing it. Also, he still has a hard time trying to reconnect with Ned and MJ after Dr. Strange cast that spell to make everyone forget who Peter Parker is.  

Now I want to say Punisher was one of the best characters in the film; he was so cool, and seeing him with Spider-Man was so much fun, and it was great seeing rage Hulk again, like it’s about time everyone got tired of smart/beta Hulk. The fight scene between Spider-Man and Hulk is great too. 

Now we do see MJ and Ned again in this film, and they are great as usual. Now it’s not a spoiler if it’s not obvious that Sadie Sink is playing Jean Grey. This is clearly setting up the X-Men, and I will be honest, some fans won’t like Jean written in this film, and I understand, like she does come off unlikeable, but later you learn why she’s like that. There are a lot of twists and turns in this film, so heads up, you will be surprised by what you see. 

The cast of the film all did a great job, like Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Jacob Batalon, Florence Pugh (she returns as Black Widow yes, she is officially Black Widow, Liza Colon-Zayas, who plays Jean DeWolf, and Tramell Tillman. The cast was great in this film. 

This film was a great follow-up to the MCU Spider-Man films. I do hope for more Spider-Man films because, let's face it, you can’t go wrong with Spider-Man well… sometimes you can.

I hope the MCU never has its own Spider-Man 3 or Amazing Spider-Man 2, but I think Marvel and Sony learned a good lesson from these two films. 

I loved this film, and it feels more like just a good superhero film, not just an MCU film. I highly recommend this film because it’s like the MCU is finally getting back on its feet. It also depends on what Avengers Doomsday does, and for the next Spider-Man film, I either want the Venom storyline done right, which could happen in Secret Wars, or a team-up with Daredevil or the Fantastic 4.

This what I want to see in the next Spider-Man film. Either these storylines or have Spider-Man in the next Fantastic 4 film.

I give this film a 9 out of 10. It’s a great film and it feels like something of old Spider-Man films from the 2000s.
