Street Fighter
Movie Review
So I saw Street Fighter, and here is my review...I had a fun time with this film. Street Fighter was a fun movie, and I really liked it. I've played a bit of Street Fighter, but I wasn't the biggest fan, and this film was a lot of fun. It has a Scott Pilgrim vibe to it with all the fighting and action scenes. Also, this film is so faithful to the source material; the outfits are very accurate to the characters, which I really like.
Now the film focuses on Ken and Ryu and how they were best friends. Still, something happens that ends their friendship until Chun Li gets them to join the Street Fighter tournament under Bison, you know, the guy in the red suit and hat who wants to become the most powerful being on Earth because of Ryu's Hadouken. I won’t give too much detail about the plot.
Now the cast of the film all did a great job like Noah Centineo was great like he was the best character, Andrew Koji was great as Ryu, Callina Lang as Chun-Li like she was great and she worked out on those thighs of hers, Cody Rhodes was great Guile, 50 Cent was great as Balrog, Jason Momoa as Blanka was funny and great, Mel Jarnson was great Cammy and the way she talks to Chun-Li about her thighs it makes you think is she in love with Chun-Li or she jealous of her, and David Dastmalchain he was great as Bison. I know people didn't like him because he's very tall and buff, but he was a great villain. The rest of the cast were great too like everyone was perfectly casted.
The film had great action scenes, and the fight scenes were great; it felt like the filmmakers made it with a lot of love for the games. Some funny moments made me laugh, and this is a fun movie. The movie does drag a bit, and there are some slow moments, but overall it is a fun movie. Especially, there are flashbacks in anime, and I think that was really cool and well done too.
Overall, I had a fun time with this film, and I give it an 8 out of 10, and my fiancée gives it an 8.5 out of 10. It's a fun movie, and that's all it needs to be. We need fun movies that keep us entertained, and this is one of them.
