It Ends With Us Review Spoilers.

My Review of It Ends With Us

So I saw It Ends With Us last night, and here's my review of it...It's a good film. This romantic drama film deals with relationships, spousal abuse, and being a good person. This film focuses on Lily, a woman who moves to Boston to open a flower shop. She meets a guy named Ryle, whom she falls in love with, and he's in love with her too, and he seems nice. However, Ryle has a lot of personal problems in his life because he killed his older brother by mistake. He does commit acts of abuse to Lilly, but Ryle isn't a bad guy. He just had many personal problems that he never got help from. Lilly also reunites with her ex from high school, Atlas, who joined the army and opened his own restaurant. She remembered how much she loved him until her dad ruined it. The film had some excellent moments, and some scenes were hard to watch, like the domestic scenes.
However, the movie still had a happy ending because she gave birth to her daughter and named her after Ryle's brother. Ultimately, Ryle promises to be a better person for his daughter, and he and Lilly divorce. I like that it didn't do the typical he's a bad guy, and he's going to be a deadbeat father; instead, we got a character who admitted his faults and worked to be a better person for his daughter. I like that they did that instead of doing the typical he's a deadbeat. I want to see more of that with father characters because I think the deadbeat dad troupe is outdated. I enjoyed all the characters in the film, including Lilly. You really feel for her and the things she goes through; Alta and Ryle's sister, Allysa, are there for her, and they are some of the best characters in this film, we could all use friends like that in our lives.

The actors all did great jobs playing their characters, like Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni, Brandon Sklenar, and Hasan Minhaj. Jenny Slate was the best actor in the film; she was incredible as Allysa. This was a good film, and I'm just glad it had a happy ending. I give this movie an 8 out of 10.
