DCU Flash Fan Cast and Ideas

Now we have had no word on the DCU Flash reboot film. We know the Flash film was the reset button to the DCU despite the Ezra drama and the film not being good. Now we have yet to see when we are getting a Flash Reboot because it seems they don't want to use that character for a bit. 

If you've checked out my thoughts on the Green Lantern Casting of Hal Jordan. I mentioned that it is possible we could get a Flash film in the DCU and it might change the focus from Barry Allen to Wally West.

Now we all grew up with Wally West from the comics to the animated series. There are fans out there who do want to see Wally West on the big screen and maybe make him the main Flash because it is likely John Stewart will be the main Green Lantern. Because if you look at the casting of Hal Jordan they got a 59 year old playing Hal and he's only playing him in the show. Now I am still hopefully they will pull a rebirth and bring in a younger actor to play Hal. Still, I'm good with John Stewart as the main Green Lantern. 

Getting back to topic a Wally West Flash film can work and I know it feels weird not having Barry Allen but they did the character right in the CW series. Even though I hated the casting of Ezra Miler as Barry Allen because he looked nothing like him. At least the DCU is casting actors look like the characters. 

So I think it's best to focus on Wally as the Flash and it could be a good legacy story. 

So first here is my fan cast for a Wally West Flash film.

I would call the film Flash Forward or The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive.

Jacob Bertand as Wally West/The Flash

Now for Wally West I would cast an actor in his early 20s to mid 20s. I loved Jacob's performance in Kobra Kai and he's a red head too and you've seen my fan cast for him in my Flash Forward fan cast and ideas. Wally in this film takes up the mantle of the Flash and he does this to honor his uncle Barry Allen. Wally was the Kid Flash for a long time until Barry Allen was killed except there was no crisis event. Barry died taking down his biggest foe Eobard Thawne The Reverse Flash. Wally takes up the mantle of the Flash with the help of the original Flash Jay Garrick as his mentor and he understands what it means to be the Fastest man alive. As well he has his relationship with his girlfriend Linda Park and being there for his aunt Iris and her children Don and Dawn Allen. The Flash's first big foe will be a new Reverse Flash who is actually his uncle Daniel West. 

Ashley Liao as Linda Park 

Linda Park would be in the film as Wally's love interest and she's a news reporter. She was previously married but it ended in a divorce. Linda meets Wally and would later learn he is the new Flash. She interviews him and plans to write an article of the Kid Flash becoming the New Flash. 

Garrett Hedlund as Barry Allen/The Flash

Barry Allen would appear in the film but only in flashbacks. Barry is dead, but he died saving Central City from Eobard Thawne. Both he and Thawne are presumed dead. His death was a significant loss for many in Central City and Keystone City, but he died a hero. His wife, Iris, is left a single mother of two children, Don and Dawn Allen. We would see his relationship with Wally in this film and how he was a like father to Wally and a mentor. Wally misses his uncle greatly and promises to honor his legacy as the Flash, keep Central City safe from crime, and be there for Iris and his twins. The Speed Force would be discussed, and we would have some of Barry's friends are in the film from Central Police Department, and Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern, would make a cameo. Barry and Hal were best friends in the movie.

Lilly James  as Iris West

Iris West is the widow of Barry Allen and a mother of two children named Don and Dawn. Iris has been struggling since her husband's death, and she's been working at her job as a reporter. She often tries to spend more time with her kids, but her sister-in-law Mary often looks after Don and Dawn for her while she's at work. She knows Wally is the new Flash, and she doesn't want him to be Flash. She lost Barry, and she doesn't wish to close her nephew. At one point, Iris threatens to tell Wally folks about him,m but she's only doing this to protect; in the end, she doesn't as she realizes how much the city suffered without there being a Flash. She knows deep down that's not what Barry would have wanted her to do; instead, he woullikent to support Wally and be there for him. She accepts Wally as the new Flash and keeps him for what he's doing. She was also reunited with her brother Daniel, and she does try to help, but he screws up again; despite that, she still cares about Daniel. She even tries to save Daniel when he becomes the new Reverse-Flash, but it's too late. His hatred towards her and the rest of the family is so great at this point. In the end, Iris would focus more on her kids and be a loving mother.   

Ace West

Ace Rudolph West would appear in the film, but he won't become Kid Flash until the next movie. In the film, he lives with his dad, a criminal, and he lives a rough life with his dad; his dad uses him to help him get away with crimes. Ace is a rebellious kid, but deep down, he's a good kid in need of guidance, and he grows to see Wally as a prominent brother figure to him. Ace loves his dad despite his crimes, and we would see that despite Daniel's crimes, he still loves his son more than anything, and he would do anything to make his son happy. Daniel dies but redeems himself because of his son's love for him. Ace gets adopted by his uncle and aunt, and he starts to develop speed force powers, and we would see him become Kid Flash in the next film and a member of the Teen Titans. I would cast an unknown child actor around 11 to 13 years old. 

Michael Rosenbaum as Rudy West 

Rudy is Wally's father he is a chill laid back dad but works hard and often tries to make sure his son is doing well in school. He doesn't know Wally is Flash. Rudy deeply loves his family because him and his younger siblings Iris and Daniel grew up with an abusive father who often took his anger out on Daniel because their mother died in child birth. Rudy had rough life and he was a bad kid growing up eventually everything change for him when his younger brother Daniel pushed their father down the stairs and crippling him. Because of this Rudy took responsibility for his family and grew up and worked very hard to support and take care of Iris and their father. Their father would eventually die of alcohol poisoning. 

Rudy then got married and is now a father he vowed he would be better father than his own father was to him, Iris, and Daniel. He also gives Wally advice and knows how much he and Barry were close and tells him he needs keep on going with his life and keep memories close. 

Rudy like Iris wants to help Daniel and also help his son Ace because they want them to know they are not alone they are family.  I know cast the voice of the Flash as Wally's father come on its a cool idea and why not. 

Jayma Mays as Mary West 

Mary West is Wally's mother and she's a stay at home mom. She's is a loving mother and a good wife but she her husband often have arguments about going on vacation. She does not know Wally is Flash but if she did she would not want that at all. She also takes care of her nephew and niece Don and Dawn for Iris when Iris is at work because it's the least she can do after Barry's death.   

Matthew McConaughey as Jay Garrick/The Original Flash 

Jay Garrick is in the film and I recasted Tom Hanks with Matthew McConaughey. The film will have him as a mentor figure to Wally and helping him deal with Barry's death. Jay Garrick was the first Flash and a member of the Justice Society of America. He passed the mantle of the Flash to Barry after retiring as the Flash. However, he still sereves a mentor to a new young generation of heroes in the Justice Society. He has a daughter named Judy and a wife name Joan.  

Lil Rel Howery as James Forret

James Forest is a Forensic DNA specialist at Central City Police Department. James and Barry were friends who worked together and hang out after a long day of work. He still keeps in touch Iris and was sad by Barry's death. His son James Jr is one of Wally's friends.

Gael Garcia Bernal as David Singh

David Singh is the Lab Director of Central City Police department. He was a friend of Barry but also Barry's supervisor as well at Central Police Department. 

Toks Olagundoye as Rebecca

Dr. Rebecca Janus is a therapist that works Central Police Department to help the police if they ever face a horrific crime. She is also a therapist to Iris who is still grieving over Barry's death mainly because she and Barry were very good friends. 

Caleb Landry Jones as Daniel West/The Second Reverse Flash 

If you've seen my Flash Movie Fan Cast and Ideas, you'll see I had Daniel as the villain in the first film, and he was going to be called Negative Flash. He would have the same story arc as my previous Flash Fan Cast and Ideas. He is infected by Negative Force, he is a thug, he has a son named Wallace whom he loves but puts him in danger, and he goes to prison because Wally brings him, thus ruining any chance to make amends with him, his brother and sister. Wally, of course, didn't know that it was uncle Daniel and he felt guilty about it, but at the same time, his uncle did a robbed bank and was a bad influence on his cousin. Daniel becomes the new Reverse-Flash, and his goal is to kill the Flash and steal his speed force, not just him but also Jay Garrick. For he wants to destroy the legacy of the Flash. Daniel was the youngest child in the West family and ran away from home after pushing his father down the stairs for all the years of abuse and emotional abuse he got from his father. 

His son Ace would later be adopted by Wally's parents, who want to give him a good life and Iris wants to be there for him too. Both Rudy and Iris knew they couldn't help their brother, but they could help his son.   

Jamie Flatters as Dick Grayson/Nightwing 

Nightwing would appear in the film but only at the end as he and Wally are best friends. They were also founding members of the first Teen Titans. Nightwing reveals he plans to bring a new Teen Titans together and even suggests Ace the new Kid Flash join. 

Bart Allen/Impulse 

Bart Allen aka Impusle is Barry Allen and Iris West's grandson and son of Don Allen their son. He comes from the future and would be stuck there. He meets with Wally West the current Flash and his second cousin Ace West. He can't tell them the future but he would join them in defeating the Rogues in the second Flash film. Bart would play a role in the DCU as he would become a member of the Young Justice team and he would appear in the third film as he fights his grandfather. 

Aaron Paul as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold 

Captain Cold would appear in an end credit scene were after hearing about the new Flash defeating the new Reverse Flash. Captain Cold gathers the Rogues and plans to break out of prison and take down the new Flash. As Wally has proven himself to them that is just as good as Barry Allen was. The next film would have Captain Cold as the main villain along the Rogues which will be Heatwave, Weather Wizard, Golden Glider, and Mirror Master. Captain Cold's mission to defeat the Flash but not kill but cripple him. 

Samara Weaving as Golden Glider 

Glider is Captain Cold's sister and is a member of the Rogues. She's also in a relationship with Mirror Master. Both her and her brother both desire to see the Flash defeated and Central City not having a hero anymore. She is also second command of the Rogues and tells them she would kill one of them if they harmed a child.

Michael Mando as Heatwave 

Heatwave is Captain Cold's best friend and they both want take out the Flash. Heatwave is the tough guy of the group and he won't stop till he sees the Flash burn to a crisp not literally just figure of speech.

Tom Felton as Mirror Master

Mirror Master is a member of the Rogues and is in a relationship with Glider. 

Tomer Capone as Weather Wizard 

WeatherWizard is member of the Rogues and have magic powers to control the weather.

Wilson Bethel as Eobard Thawne/The Reverse Flash 

Eobard Thawne/Professor Zoom aka the Reverse Flash would be in the third film as the main villain as well he appears in the first film during his fight with Barry Allen resulting in both of them being killed. I would adapt the Return of Barry Allen arc for the third film in which Barry Allen comes back but it's Zoom in disguise. Reverse Flash he represents the obsessed fan who idolize Barry Allen and wanted to be him. Until he learns from traveling to the past that he will become his biggest enemy. Reverse Flash is also the mastermind behind Daniel West becoming the second Reverse Flash and he killed Barry's mother framed his father. Reverse Flash would be the most terrifying villain in the Flash films because of how messed up he is. 

Now here is my ideas for the DCU Flash. 

10. The film needs to be a fun, action adventure superhero film. 

The Flash films should be a fun action adventure Superhero film. The Flash is the light hearted character we all love and relate too. The first film is called The Flash Fastest Man Alive, the second film is called Flash Vs. The Rogues, and the third film is The Flash: The Return of Barry Allen.  

9. The film is coming of age and passing of the torch

The first film is a passing of the torch and I know Barry Allen isn't the main Flash and we never got to see him more in the DCU. However, Wally is popular and the Ezra Miller sort of killed the character. So basically like other heroes The Flash have been established. The film is about Wally taking up the mantle of his uncle Barry as the new Flash. Barry was killed during a epic showdown with the Reverse Flash. Wally was devasted after the death of Barry and he saw how much the world needed the Flash so he decided to take up the mantle of the Flash. Jay Garrick was the previous Flash and he would be another mentor to Wally. 

8. Wally West being the main Flash of the DCU.

Having Wally West as the main DCU Flash I think would work because this character is a huge fan favourite I feel like they are going with that approach with Green Lantern. John Stewart being the main DCU Green Lantern is what they are going with. So Wally would work as the main DCU Flash because he's got a lot of stories to tell and he's got one his proper legacy as the Flash.

7. We see Flash's Rogues on the big screen.

The Flash's Rogues like Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Golden Glider, and many more would be in the film. The second film we would see Flash fight the Rogues and led by Captain Cold. The Rogues are dedicated to taking down the Flash but they don't want to kill him but simply beat him. Many of the Rogues are pre estblaished but the rooster that Flash would fight would be Captain Cold, Golden Glider, Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, and Heatwave. 

6. We have Wally becoming a mentor to his cousin Ace as the new Kid Flash.

Ace West would appear in the film and he would become Wally's sidekick and Kid Flash. Ace had a trouble life but despite his dad's problems he still loved dad despite becoming the Reverse Flash. Ace goes live with Wally's parents and becomes the new Kid Flash. Kid Flash plays a big role in the second film being trained by Wally and becoming a superhero. 

5. Impulse would play a role as he is from the future.

Bart Allen aka Impusle would appear at the end of the second film from the future. Bart's role in the third film is send to the past to help Wally as something has changed the time. Bart would call himself Impulse and he would be a lot like his grandfather as he grew up idolizing his grandpa and he's the son of Don Allen and it's funny seeing him taking care of his dad as a kid. 

4. Kid Flash and Impulse would be set up to be members of the Teen Titans and Young Justice.

Both Ace and Bart would be big characters outside the Flash films like Wally will be with Justice League films. I've heard rumors that the Teen Titans film will focus on Robin/Damian Wayne, Beast Boy, Raven, Starfire, and a new Kid Flash which likely could be Ace. Bart I can see him joining the Young Justice team with Red Robin, Superboy, Wonder Girl, and so fourth. It would be a great way for these two characters to expand out the Flash films. 

3. Reverse Flash would serve as the main villain of these films and pulling the strings.

Eobard Thawne aka Proffessor Zoom, aka the Reverse Flash would be the main villain of the film series. In the first film he's supposely is dead after his fight with Barry. However, he comes back but a different version of him that idoloize Barry Allen and he wanted to be like him until he learned he was destined to be the Flash's biggest enemy. It's also revealed that he's actually the reason Daniel West becomes the new Reverse Flash using the negative force. He makes his full debut in Flash 3 as the main villain posing as Barry Allen. 

2. Barry Allen's importance in the DCU.

Barry Allen would be in the films but only flashbacks and the character would return in a future film. I can see them bringing back Barry Allen like maybe Justice League 3 or something. Barry is still an important character in the DCU despite being dead but it's likely he's in the Speed Force. The Speed Force would be in the film and the DCU. We would see it get explored and we learn more about it and Barry Allen's present will be felt in the film. 

1. Flash should be an important character in the DCU. 

Now Gunn has said they are holding off on another Flash film for a while but I know they will make a Flash film because he is an important character in the DC Universe. We need Flash to be a founding member of the Justice League as it is revealed that there is no Justice League in the DCU yet. 

Whatever they do with Flash weather they go with Barry Allen or Wally West just make sure you do the character right and please cast an actor who looks the part and isn't a criminal.
