My thoughts on the Lanterns trailer.

So I recently saw the Lanterns trailer, and to be honest, it's not what I expected... Like I wanted a reboot like this picture, an epic sci-fi series set in the cosmos, but no.

Let's face it, we all wanted something like Geoff Johns Green Lantern run to be adapted as a full sci-fi TV series, basically Guardians of the Galaxy meets Lethal Weapons. This show feels more like a western, and I will say again: I wasn't a big fan of them making Hal Jordan an old man, but I think Kyle will do a good job. I think Aaron will do a good job as John Stewart. 

From what the trailer showed, Hal is training John to be a Green Lantern, but John still hasn't gotten his ring, which is weird because in Green Lantern, you are trained with the ring once you are chosen by the Guardians of Oa. 

Now the series is giving off the vibe that it's more grounded on Earth, and that's something we don't want at all, because we all know how bad 2011 Green Lantern was for having too much Earth time, not enough space time. As well, there are no aliens in the trailer, but they could be hiding in human forms, though. Come on, this DCU project should have introduced more aliens.

Also, yes, we see Hal's suit, and it's a let-down, I mean, come on. It's amazing how fan-made Green Lantern suits are better, because let's face it, cosplayers do a better job. I mean, come on, it could have been better. This show I'm mixed about now because I wanted a more comic accurate suit. As well I wanted space adventure, like 90 percent of the show is set in outer space, but we're not getting that. I mean, Supergirl looks like it will be doing that instead. I will admit I liked the ending of the trailer, where Hal mentions that one of the lanterns is a squirrel, which is kind of cool. Still, I have to wait till this show comes out because who knows, maybe they're hiding the good stuff for later, because who knows the show might surprise us and this show is great. 

Still, my thoughts on the Lanterns trailer are mixed, but who knows, it might surprise us and be good. If it's not good, people will be forgiving of Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern film. Let me know what you think of the trailer for Lanterns are you excited or not.
