It’s been announced that Wheel of Time is returning as an animated series. I'm just going to say it right from the get-go, I called it. I knew they would announce an animated reboot, but the live-action movie trilogy based on the Age of Legends, and an animated prequel called the White Tower. That's new to me, well, the White Tower, I did hear there were plans to make a movie trilogy about the Age of Legends.
So it's been announced that Wheel of Time is returning, and sad to say, to all the fans of the live-action show, it's not happening. Amazon has announced it will make an animated reboot of The Wheel of Time. To be honest, I think an animated show would work better. I mean, look at Invisible, and this show will be made by Thomas Vu, who made Arcane, so it's much better in his hands than Rafe Judkins.
Now this is just an announcement; we have yet to see what they will do with the animated show. Hopefully, it's a proper adaptation of Robert's work and not what we got in the live-action show. I just hope it delivers what the live-action show failed to: fewer changes, less pandering, and less character downgrading.
Still, I called it, and it's funny because I did suggest an animated series reboot would work for this series, and it's actually happening. I just hope the reboot is good, and to those who wanted the live action show to be picked up, sorry it's not happening, but what would be cool if they cast the live action cast to voice the characters in the animated show as a way of compromising for the fans of the live action.

Still, I'm happy about the news of an animated reboot, and I hope it's a lot more faithful to the books. We never get a faithful adaptation, but if the changes are small and don't affect much of the story, it's okay. Let me know what you think.
