My thoughts on the Rings of Power Trailer

My thoughts on the new trailer of The Rings of Power.

From what the trailer told me, the show will focus on Elrond and Galadriel. 

So the new trailer for The Rings of Power came out, and here's what I think of it...Budget-wise, this show looks good and is well presented, but the real issue is the story and how the characters will be written. In the trailer, we hear narrating about Middle Earth, and how things are going, we see Elrond, Galadriel, other elves, the dwarves, the harfoots, and Numenor. They are making many changes in Numenor. I still think it's a bad idea to merge two timelines. The forging of the rings and the downfall of Numenor both storylines should have been separate seasons. I'll get more into that later.

We see the dwarves in the trailer, the dwarves look pretty good, and I think this season will end with the dwarves releasing the Balrog resulting in them abandoning Moria. It will be interesting to see Moria in its glory before the Balrog came and the dwarves abandoned it.

We see the Harfoots in the trailer.

I still don't think we needed to add hobbits in this season. If it were up to me, I would have saved the hobbits for a later season, like season 4 could have been the fall of Arnor, and the hobbits were involved in that story arc. Also, the show's visuals look good, and we see Valinor and the two trees before they were destroyed by Morgoth.

This is a good shot of Valinor, and seeing the Two Trees is remarkable. Plus, the music score is pretty good too.

This is a wait-and-see for me. I feel like they are making too many changes to the lore from what I've seen, and I'm hoping the original characters aren't going to overshadow the book characters or their storylines don't fit the narrative.

Again these characters should have been saved for season 2.

Also, I don't see a reason why Isildur needs a sister. Why not make it his girlfriend or something else.

Pharazon looks awful. He's supposed to be a mighty warrior known as Ar Pharazon the Golden, but they took away the gold and put it on Miriel instead.

Tar Miriel was never fully queen in the books because she was usurped by Pharazon, her cousin, and she never left Numenor, not even for war. I think the first season should focus on Tar Minister, and in the first season, the Numenorians start to question the Valar and slowly become corrupted, setting up season 2.  The Fall of Numenor. 

Again this is why I think these characters should have been saved for season 2. 

I know studios make changes all the time to adaptions, but it's natural for fans to feel concerned it won't be as good as the book.

When Jackson made the films, he made changes to the story, but he didn't try to make it his own. He wanted to respect Tolkien's work and not change what his story meant. I feel like this show is changing a lot of the lore of Middle Earth.

The elves in the show look kind of weird, and I'm not a fan of Celebrimbor's look and the actor who's playing him. Nothing against Charles Edwards. He's an outstanding actor; I feel he would have been suited for a different role. I was hoping for the Shadow of Mordor look, but I know fans complain they ruined his character in that game; I understand. I would keep that look but make him more like his book counterpart. The guy just wanted to redeem his family's name after the events of the First Age. 

The trailer is setting up Sauron to be the new Dark Lord. We haven't seen him, but he will show up. I also think the first episode will be a prologue to the first age, which is pretty cool. I'm down for that because the first episode is a prologue about the history of Middle Earth. There is also a short scene that I think is Feanor and his sons swearing the infamous oath, so that's cool.

So the trailer was okay. I mean, good visuals but not enough detail on the story, but if you read the lore, you know already the events of the second age. This September, we will see what this show does. Will it be good or bad? It's a wait-and-see. I have concerns like many of my friends. One of my friends pointed out this will be a huge mixed bag, and it likely will be. I might like the show or not, but if I do, it's mainly how the story and characters are written in this show. My biggest concern is how the story and characters will be done in this show.

What I want to see in Young Justice Season 5

What I want to see in Young Justice Season 5.

After watching season 4 of Young Justice, I got to say it was a good season. It had slow episodes and storylines. By the end with Zod, the series got good again. So here's what I want to see Young Justice Season 5 if it gets renewed. 

4. Supergirl will play a significant role next season.

Now Supergirl finally made her long-awaited appearance in Young Justice season 4, which is cool. She was mentioned this season, so we finally get to meet her, but she will be a villain. Now the question next season is, how did she end up joining Darkseid? We all know she survived like Clark did, but I guess she got lost and landed on Apocalypse. It will be exciting to see what this version of Supergirl will be like. All we know is she's a fury now, and she will be a villain until the end when they save her and she joins the team. Also, I can see Black Adam and Black Mary teaming up, and Shazam is trying to save her.  

3. Please resolve the Red Hood arc with Nightwing, Batman, and everyone else in the Bat-family.

We need to see the Red Hood story arc get resolved, and I was disappointed that Nightwing's story didn't fix it or focus on it. I get it like it was about Nightwing searching for Superboy in the Phantom Zone. I still want this story arc to be resolved where Nightwing and the whole bat family learn that Jason Todd is alive and he's the Red Hood, and it's about them trying to save him from Ra's Al Ghul. I want it to end with him becoming the Red Hood from the comics.

I would love to see this happen with Jason, as I previously mentioned on what I want to see in Young Justice season 4. I would love to see him recruit Arsenal, Starfire, and Geoforce to hunt down members of the Light. I hope next season they will get around to this story where we see the Bat-family trying to save Jason but knowing Jason, he's going to do his own thing, and he might vow to kill the Light members. I want to see this story arc finally get resolved because it was disappointing that we never got that this season. 

2. Lor Zod's future is changed. 

Now we know Lor Zod was a real bastard in this show, along with his parents General Zod and Ursa. His death at the show's end was good, and it teaches you don't mess with Metron because he will get revenge. However, we know Ursa is pregnant now with Lor, and I can see this happening when she gives birth and fights the team again. I think what will happen is Conner and Megan decide to adopt Lor and try to change his future. At first, some will be against this idea and tell them they should kill him or abandon him somewhere. However, Conner and Clark don't want that because they believe they can change his future so that he doesn't become his parents, and I can see Megan at first not keen on the idea of raising him because she remembers Lor was the man who took Conner away from her. I think next season Conner and Megan will want to start a family this season, but they can't have a baby biologically because of their different species. However, Conner believes he will become a good person if he is raised by the right people; Conner would convince her that he's only a baby and the Lor they fought was a different man this time. Lor will be different from his future self, his parents. She sees his point and agrees to adopt Lor as her own, putting aside her hatred for Lor Zod to be a good mother to him. 

Conner and Megan adopting Lor would result in this.

Val Zod from the Earth-Two Series became Superman after Clark Kent's death.

I can also see Conner and Megan renaming Chris Kent his human name, but his Krypton name is changed from Lor Zod to Val Zod. Superman would suggest the name Val Zod because Val was a heroic warrior from Krypton. He was also known as Nightwing. That's when everyone realizes that's how Dick got his name Nightwing. Just an idea for the show if they go that route.

So they changed the future Lor never becomes a villain, and he becomes a hero in this new timeline.

I can see them doing this because Chris Kent/Val Zod are heroes in the comics.

 1. I know we've asked for this many times, but please let this be the season they bring back Wally West!!!

Sadly, we didn't get any hint of Wally West returning, not even at the end credit scene where we see Mary become Black Mary and are finally introduced to Supergirl. She will play a significant role in the next season by fighting Superman and Superboy. We've been asking the creators to bring him back, and they've said no, but it's hard not to accept his death. He was the best character in the show. You know what they should have done was in the end credit scene was have Reverse Flash appear, and he has a companion named the Negative Flash, which could have been a cool cameo and a hint that Wally, like Kara, has become a villain. However, there is a chance Wally will return in season 5 if they can develop a good story arc. I just hope if they bring back Wally, they won't ruin his character like make him into a villain and if anyone remembers Heroes in Crisis, let us hope they won't adapt that storyline where Wally kills Roy, and no one wants that. I rather they go with the whole Reverse-Flash has him under his control, and the team is trying to save him. I would love to see Wally again; they could make a movie called Young Justice: The Return of Wally West. Now that would be cool, but we're probably not getting that. However, don't give up on hope; let's hope the writers bring him back. We will put our hopes to rest if they don't get him back next season because it's 50/50 now.

Lilo and Stitch Review

 

Lilo and Stitch Review.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary and I thought I might do a review for this film to celebrate 20 years of this film. It was the last good Disney animated film until Princess and the Frog. 

The film focuses on Stitch, whose alien and the experiment code name is 626. He's only meant to destroy anything he sees, and he's super intelligent too. 

The film focuses on Lilo wh,o is a young girl who lost her parents in a car accident and has no friends. She only has her older sister Nani a former surfer champion who gave up her career to raise her younger sister. Now the two don't get along, but this film is about family, finding your home, and sisterhood something, the director of this film called out Frozen for saying they did it first.

It's true if you think about it. Lilo and Stitch did it first, and the film director had every right to call them out for that. 

Now getting back to the review in the film, Stitch escapes from being executed and hunted down by his creator Jumba and an alien named Pleaky. The film has great animation, especially how the ocean is made in animation. It looks so natural. The characters in the movie are great and very relatable too because it's about family, struggling to support everyone you love. Also, in the film, Lilo might get taken away because the social worker Cobra Bubbles doesn't think Nani is fit to raise Lilo without a full-time job she struggles with getting or keeping. He's not a bad guy. He knows Nani is trying, but he believes this is what's best for Lilo if she lived in a foster home. 

Also, there is Nani's friend David, a surfer, who wants to help her and date them because he's in love with Nani. 

The film also has some excellent action scenes, funny moments, good fight scenes, and moments in the movie that will make you cry, like when Stitch goes outside with the Ugly Duckling and says

This scene made many people cry; even my mom cried watching this scene.

The film's villain in the movie is Captain Gantu, who basically if you think about it, the guy was just doing his job, but it gets out of hand, and he loses his job. That's why he's one of the main villains in the spin-offs and sequels. 

Ohana. 

Nobody gets left behind.

Love that quote. 

At the film's end, Stitch finds his home and his family with Lilo and Nani because he learns he doesn't have to destroy anything like his program. Also, Jumba decides to join the family with Pleaky and agrees to work with Stitch. The film ends on a good note and shows everyone being a family. That's what Lilo and Stitch are about: family and the struggles of having or wanting a family. 

The cast in this film did a great job voicing their characters, like Chris Sanders as Stitch (Who also directed this film.) Daveigh Chase as Lilo (It's hard to believe she's 32 now, and she played the Ring.) Tia Carrere as Nani (Who I met once at a comic con, she's very nice.) Ving Rhames as Cobra Bubbles, Kevin McDonald as Pleaky, the late David Ogden Stiers as Jumba, Jason Scott Lee as David, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Captain Gantu.   

I give Lilo and Stitch an 8 out of 10. It's a great film to watch, and it was one of the last great animated films from Disney in the 2000s because they didn't really come out with anything significant till 2009. It's a classic, and you can watch the sequel films and the tv show. Also, this film is getting a live-action remake, so they might ruin it, but hey, I hear Chris Sanders is coming back to voice Stitch, so that's good just hope it works. That's my review. Hercules Review

 

My Review of Hercules 

In celebration of 25 years of one of my favorite Disney films, Hercules, here is my review of it.

I love this film because it is so much fun to watch and it's an excellent film. It's a feel-good film. The film tells the story of Hercules, except it's not faithful to the mythology is way too dark and pretty sad. They had to change much from the source material. 

In Greek Mythology, Hercules had to do twelve labors after killing his wife and children because of Hera.

The story is much darker, and yeah, look it up. I find the character of Hercules to be a really good lead, and we can all relate to his character just trying to be accepted for who he is and seeing where he belongs. 

Most people like this version of Hercules because we can all relate to him and his struggles. Also, we love that song. I can go the distance. It's such a great song. 

The film is about Hercules, whose trying to become a true hero, and the film deals with those themes. What makes a hero a hero, and what is a true hero? In the movie, Hercules is treated like an outcast because of his god's strength and wants people to accept him. So his dad Zeus tells him to get trained by Phil, voiced by the legendary Danny Devito. 

Disney, you better bring back Danny as Phil for the live-action remake. He owns that role. Phil is one of the best characters in the film because he is voiced by Danny Devito, and he's just so funny and so much fun to watch.

Hercules trains under Phil, and of course, he meets Meg, who should be a Disney princess because she is fantastic. If you think about it, Meg is the real hero of the story because I remember watching a review, and someone pointed out that Meg is actually the hero, representing what a true hero is. The more you think about it, Meg is the story's real hero. For example, she gave her soul to Hades to save her ex-boyfriend, she refused to help Hades, whose a god, and she sacrificed her life to save Hercules resulting in him getting his super strength back. I remember watching a review of Hercules; The reviewer pointed this out, and she was right. The more I think about it, Meg is the film's real hero. 

Of course, the best character in the whole film is Hades, played by James Woods.

Hades is the best character in this film, and you can't help but want to root for him. Like, he's so likable, and he's so funny too. 

Hades is one of my favorite Disney villains because I find him so much fun to watch on screen. He is so entertaining, and he is the best thing in this whole film. Many movie fans have admitted they routed for this guy to win because he's just so likable. It's also funny because, in Greek Mythology, Hades was actually the nicest god out of all the Greek gods. Zeus was an asshole and total player who slept with countless women and men.

The film's animation is excellent and well made; the fight scene between Hercules and the Hydra was epic and suspenseful. The characters in the movie are fantastic, and the story is good but does have some issues but still like, I love this film. It's from childhood. The songs are memorable, like Go the Distance, Zero to Hero, One Last Hope, A Star Is Born, and I Won't Say I'm in Love. Great songs.

The movie has the Muses as the film's narrators, and these ladies have excellent singing voices. After all, they are goddesses of the arts and proclaimers of heroes. I love the song they sing, Zero to Hero. 

Hercules and Meg in this version have a happier ending while in the mythology, not really. 

I really enjoy this film a lot, and it's an excellent film to watch any day. I love this film. 

I give it an 8 out of 10. It's a beautiful film, but if you are more of a fan of the actual mythology of Marvel's Hercules, that's fine. 

Guy will Direct the film. 

Russo Brothers will produce and write the film.

Also, let's hope the live-action remake will be good, but knowing the past live-action remakes might suck. I like the idea of the Russo Brothers being involved, and they announced Guy Ritchie will direct it. I just hope it's better than the Aladdin remake. Still, if I were to cast the characters in the films, here's who I would cast.

Danny Devito as Phil (I mean, come on, he's the only one who could play the role.)

Nicolas Cage as Hades (Hades was hard casting.)

Top Gun Maverick Review

 

Top Gun Maverick Review

So I saw Top Gun Maverick, and here's my review of it...I loved it. This was such a great film, and I had a blast watching it. This is the long-awaited sequel to Top Gun from 1986. I had such a blast with this film. I mean, the cast of this film is fantastic. Tom Cruise does such a great job returning as Maverick. Val Kilmer comes back in the movie. He is one of the best characters in the film, and seeing him again was excellent. He delivers one of the best performances in the movie. The other cast, like Miles Teller, does a great job as Rooster, son of Goose like he did such a great job with the role. The rest of the cast, like Jennifer Connelly, was excellent as always, Monica Barbaro was great, and Glen Powell was great, as everyone in this film was great. 

Tom Cruise will be 60 this year, and he still looks good for his age.

This film is fun, and it's a feel-good movie full of incredible action, great acting, and astonishing sound effects. I had such a great time with this film and recommend it to everyone. I give this film an 8 out of 10 and A. Go see this film it's so much fun, and you will have a great time. ,

Hustle Review

 

Hustle Review

So I saw the movie Hustle. Here is my review of it...I liked it a lot. It was terrific, and like Uncut Gems, it proves Adam Sandler needs to do more films like this. This movie was good, and I love basketball, and it's a great basketball film. Like Adam Sandler did a great job in the movie, like when he does more serious films because he can be a great actor. Also, this film has a lot of famous NBA players making cameos in the filmmaking, so you will like that. Overall I really did enjoy this film a lot, and I hope Adam Sandler does more movies like this in the future. I give Hustle an 8 out of 10.  

How Marvel should have made Moon Knight.

 

So after Marvel Studios Moon Knight series like Shang, Black Widow, and Eternals, here's how I think Marvel should have made Moon Knight. To be honest, I can't get into this show because it's not what I wanted it to be. I wanted a Batman-style show for this character with some Netflix Daredevil. 

Moon Knight could have been something more epic, but instead, the show was goofy at times; it did give the character a proper origin; I hated how they made Steven a gift shop seller instead of a billionaire, they got rid of his supporting cast, and I felt they just wasted so many good ideas with this character.

For the record, I think Oscar Issac and the cast did a good job. I just feel like they could have been better written. Especially the character of Moon Knight himself and his three personalities. 

Here's how I think Marvel should have made Moon Knight. 

10. Like current Marvel films and shows, they did a bait and switch.

The character of Layla is a new character replacing Marlene, his original love interest in the comics, basically becoming an Avatar of one of the Egyptian gods. The show does another bait and switch. They have her more of the star of the show than Moon Knight. This is a trait I can't stand that Marvel Studios keeps doing. They got to stop doing this focus on your main character and stop giving them a forced co-lead unless it's done right. I have nothing against the actress May Calamawy. She did an excellent job in the role of Layla. 

9. The comedy felt forced.

Most MCU movies have a lot of jokes that work and don't work. Moon Knight's jokes felt forced, and they didn't need to be there. Like Moon Knight's jokes and comedy just don't work at all. It didn't have forced humor. If you want to have jokes in the show, that's fine but make sure it fits the story and doesn't feel forced. 

8. Shadow Knight could have been teased as a future villain.

Shadow Knight is Marc's brother Randall Spector, and he is one of Moon Knight's most dangerous foes. They could have mentioned him in the show and maybe set him up as Shadow Knight. We learned he killed Marc's first girlfriend and backstabbed him too. Randall could have been teased as a big foe he would face off in the show's last season if it went on for three seasons. I was not a big fan of them killing him off as a kid. It ruins his whole arc from the comics. Although knowing Marvel, they will bring back Shadow Knight in a future season or movie.

If I was making the show besides giving it a Batman-style with some Daredevil and Punisher vibes. The first season's villain would have been Bushman, the second season Black Spectre and Stain Glass Scarlet, and the final season would be Shadow Knight and the Cult of Khonshu. 

7. There was no need to cut his original supporting cast. 

In the comics, Moon Knight's supporting cast is Marlene Alraune, Frenchie, Crawley, Detective Flint, Nedda, Samuels, Gena Landers, and her sons Ray and Rickey. They were cut from the show and replaced with other characters, which I feel was a mistake now, the showrunner did say that there were hints of them in future seasons, but I feel like there was no reason to do that. Getting rid of Moon Knight's supporting cast is a huge mistake, and I know some will say some of them are too much like Batman's supporting cast, but they really aren't. That was a big mistake on Marvel's part. They should have kept them like Frenchie could have been Marc's best friend, and Marc meets Marlene after her father is captured by Bushman, and Bushman kills Marlene's father. Marc dies but is saved by the Cult of Knhshou, and Marlene knows he's Moon Knight and helps him fight crime. It feels wrong they got rid of his supporting cast in the comics. 

6. Bushman should have been the villain of the first season. 

Bushman is Moon Knight's arch enemy. He's also his Joker, in a way. Bushman is the Joker if he was a warlord. Now the showrunner of Moon Knight said the character was too similar to Kilmonger, but he's wrong. Like I said before, Bushman is more Joker than Kilmonger, and Kilmonger wouldn't kill children or kill countless people for no reason. Bushman and Kilmonger are very different characters. They might be bad guys, but Bushman is more Joker than Kilmonger. 

Now I know the show couldn't adapt the face rip-off scene, but they could have done something like he already has a twisted and scary face. Like Bushman, he took part in a ritual that would make him more powerful. Ethan Hawke's character is a gripping villain, but I feel like he could have been used for the second season. 

5. They should have given the character a more faithful origin story.

Moon Knight's origin is that Marc Spector is a former navy soldier, now merc. He became a merc for hire with his best friend, Frenchie. They met with Raul Bushman, a war criminal. Bushman kills Marlene's father, and Marc sees what a monster Bushman is and fights him but is killed. However, he is brought to the temple of Khnoshu, is brought back to life, and becomes Moon Knight and the avatar of Khnoshu. The show should have given him a proper origin story because he's got a good origin, and it's not like Batman's, for the record. Moon Knight may be Marvel's Batman, but he is very different. 

4. They should have done the split three personalities better.

Moon Knight has a dissociative identity disorder. For example, Marc is a mercenary, Steven is a billionaire businessman, and Jake is a cap driver. Each personality is different and serves a purpose in helping Moon Knight fight crime. Marc is Moon Knight when he goes to fight crime as well. Marc knows about old foes from merc days; Marc deals with the middle class and enemies from his past. Steven is used to finding corruption and villains in the upper class, and Jake is a cap driver who sees the corrupted and villains in the lower class. See, this is how all three of these characters work. We should have gotten something like this we did with the show, but instead, the character of Steven is a gift shop salesman, which was stupid, and it just ruins what Moon Knight was doing with his three personalities. In the show, we should have Marc come up with the idea of using his disorder to help fight criminals like Steven deals with the upper class while Jake deals with the lower class. 

3. The show should not have given Moon Knight supernatural powers. 

The costume I liked, along with the Mister Knight costume, my problem is they give the character supernatural powers like Spawn. In the comics, Moon Knight may be the avatar of Khnoshu, but he's got his own tech, weapons, and skills in all forms of combat. The show does the opposite giving him supernatural powers to summon his suit. My cousin was unhappy with how they made Mister Knight in the show. I can't blame him, for he is a huge Moon Knight fan. They made him such a weak character with Steven. They wasted so many opportunities with this character. What makes Moon Knight cool is he's like Batman mixed with Rorschach. 

2. The show should have been darker, bloody, and more serious. 

Moon Knight is a violent superhero, and let me tell ya if Netflix made Moon Knight first, you would have gotten a bloodier, more violent, like a Dark Knight level mixed with Netflix Daredevil tv show. Disney, we know, doesn't do that despite them having shows like Daredevil, Punisher, and more of the Netflix shows now on their network. They still failed to give us a dark and gritty Moon Knight series. This could have been the MCU giving hardcore fans a darker and more serious show. Fans wanted a darker and gritty Moon Knight adaption. We didn't get that, but who knows, things change maybe in the future.,

Moon Knight could have been Marvel's answer to a Batman in their universe. Marvel could have made this their Batman because Moon Knight was inspired by Batman, but he's Batman with a dissociative identity disorder. Moon Knight could have been a significant game-changer because he would be like, wow, the MCU is getting darker and more grounded. Moon Knight could have been Marvel's answer for their own Batman. But of course, they don't go too dark and gritty because of Disney. Moon Knight, I feel like Marvel just wasted a great idea. If you look at the film The Batman, that is a film I think Marvel Studios needs to look at it for inspiration on how to do a dark and gritty movie or show. 

So that's how I think Marvel should have made Moon Knight. If you liked the show, that's fine, but I feel like it could have been better.
