My Top Ten Best Family Guy Episodes

My Top Ten Best Family Guy Episodes!

I'm going to do my top ten favorite Family Guy episodes because I've loved Family Guy since I was a kid. It's one of my favorite shows, although it's declined over the years. Some of the characters we know and love have become annoying and unlikable. However, I still love Family Guy, and so here are my top ten best episodes of Family Guy.

10. Da Boom
Da-Boom is one of the funniest dream episodes of Family Guy. The whole plot was making fun of Y2K, and this episode also marked the first appearance of the Giant Chicken. We all love those Peter vs the Giant Chicken fights. In the episode, the world gets destroyed by Y2K. Now, the Griffins live in the apocalypse. So they are sent out to find a Twinkie factory so they can survive a nuclear holocaust. The griffins find it and form a new Quahog. Still, eventually, they get kicked out all because Peter wanted to build guns, which everyone was against, until Stewie turns into the octopus and lays hundreds of eggs that kill everyone. They realize Peter was right and needed some form of protection from danger. This episode was funny, and it was all a dream episode, too, but it's one of the best episodes of Family Guy.

9. To Love and Die in Dixie
In this episode, the griffins go into witness protection after Chris catches a robber. He escapes and vows to kill Chris, so the family goes deep south home of the rednecks. Of course, the Griffins adjust to their new life here as Stewie loves playing the banjo, Meg is popular, and Chris meets the girl of his dreams until Peter offends the southern people by pointing out the North won the Civil War. I still remember laughing when the raccoon kept jumping at Peter.
The episode ends with the robber finding Chris, but Chris is saved by the southern town folks because, despite their differences with Peter and the North, they still look out for their own. This was a good episode, and this was the first appearance of Herbert, who leaves 122 messages at the Griffin home. It's amusing how Peter and Lois don't call the police on Herbert or obtain a restraining order against him, considering his obsession with Chris.

8. Emission Impossible
When I first saw this episode, I remember laughing my ass off in this episode. Basically, Peter and Lois decide to have another baby. Still, Stewie doesn't want that and does everything he can to prevent them from having a baby. Stewie goes inside Peter's body and battles his sperm until he meets Bertem, his half-brother, voiced by Wallace Shawn. The scene between them is so funny, and they bond over how much they want to kill Lois. Stewie now supports having a new younger brother. Still, Lois and Peter decide not to have another baby, which upsets Stewie. I laughed so hard when Stewie attacked Peter but learned his brother was alive and clever...
This was a classic episode and worth watching.

7. Road to Rhode Island
The Road to Rhode Island is the first of many adventures of Brian and Stewie, and this one is a classic. So, Brian goes to pick up Stewie, but their plane tickets get stolen, and now they have to travel across the state to get back home. Also, in this episode, Brian seeks to resolve his past, as his mom gave him up as a puppy and traumatized him. Eventually, Brian returns to the farm he was born, and he learns that his mother gave him up because she wanted him to have a good life. Brian's mom loved him very much but just wanted him to have a good life with the Griffins. Brian and Stewie then bury his mother, as her owners had her stuffed. And, of course, we get a musical number, which Family Guy does a great job with. Also, Peter and Lois watch relationship videos until it turns out to be porn. Peter keeps watching them, and Lois finds out, but instead of being mad. She instead gives Peter a fun time, if you know what I mean. Overall, this was a funny episode, and what they say is true: season 2 was Family Guy's best season. Even in the show, Peter mentions how online idiots say that's their best season, and it really is. Season 2 is the best of all Family Guy.

6. Stewie Kills Lois
Stewie Kills Lois is an epic two-parter where Stewie actually kills Lois, but she comes back to life and now wants to kill him and save the world. Stewie, of course, takes over the world, and he makes everyone's lives terrible. So Lois goes to kill him, and the two have an epic fight until Lois can't bring herself to kill him, and Peter does it. But it turns out to be a dream episode, and Brian even points out to Stewie that if there had been an audience watching the whole thing, they would be pissed that it wasn't real. Stewie, of course, defends it and says, "At least it didn't end like Sopranos in mid-" It Goes black. That was a brilliant joke.

5.  Fox-y Lady
This episode made fun of Fox News, and it's so funny as well. The Handi Quacks idea from Peter and Chris, not Meg, is one of the parts of the episodes. In the episode, Lois gets a job working at Fox News, which Brian is not happy about because, let's face it, Fox News is the worst. However, after she learns Rush Limbaugh is secretly gay, Fox News won't run it because he's a supporter of theirs. Of course, Lois and Brian try to expose it, but it isn't until they realize it's Fred Savage and that he is the greatest actor alive. This was a funny episode, and Rush Limbaugh did guest star in a future episode of Family Guy, too.

4. Then There Were Fewer
This was a great murder mystery episode as everyone is invited to a party up in the countryside. However, the twist is that it's James Woods who asked them, as he wanted peace with him and apologized to the Griffins. This is until Quagmire's annoying girlfriend gets murdered, and then James Woods. It's basically a full-hour murder mystery episode, and it's one of the best episodes. Additionally, this episode kills Mort's wife, Muriel, and Jillian's husband, Derek. They did that, so maybe Brian and her get back together, but nah, it's not happening. In the end, it's revealed that Diane from Channel 5 was the one who killed those people, and she was about to kill Lois, but in the end, Stewie saves her. It's a great murder mystery episode, and I highly recommend watching it.
Lol this was the funniest part in the episode.

3. Road to the Multiverse
The Road to the Multiverse is one of the best multiverse stories before it became overused. In this episode, Brian and Stewie travel across the universe and see realities that certainly never existed, or if Japan had won WW2 or a Flintstones universe, and of course the Disney universe, which both of them love until Mort comes in and if you've seen the episode you know it's a Disney universe. It's a hilarious episode, and this was a simpler time with multiple stories before it became overused.

2. Three Kings
Three Kings is one of the best Stephen King parodies of his most famous books, such as Stand By Me, Misery, and Shawshank Redemption. Stand By Me, to me, was the best one, especially when they brought back Richard Dreyfus, who narrated the original film and played an older Gordie. Also, the ending of the segment is funny because it points out how Chris would have gotten a gun and killed Gordie, and Peter just lets him take the body. Additionally, the River Phoenix jokes, I can see why some find them funny and others don't.  Also, the Misery segment was funny, too, and having Stewie play Brian's biggest fan is so amusing, Shank Redemption was brilliant. As Carter says, "Even though you're all murders, rapists, and criminals, I'm going to be more hated for some reason." The ending of the episode is amusing when Cleveland finds the stone and the money but forgets the name of the place Peter went to. These Stephen King episodes are hilarious and do a great job parodying the original books/films.

Honourable Mentions.

Emmy Winning Episode
This episode was funny and just ripped on Family Guy. It had the most guest stars, and Family Guy was trying to win an Emmy, and they were trying to find out. This whole episode just roasted Family Guy in general.

The D in Apartment 23
This episode teaches us to be careful what we post online because, let's face it, in this day and age. If you post one thing or opinion about something, your life is over. Also, Brian gives one of the best speeches about how sensitive people are now, and as he says, "I'm the most liberal person here. I kissed a transgender woman." Of course, Brain gets kicked out of the Griffin home, and you do feel bad for him. Still eventually, he goes back home after redeeming himself and becoming a hero for saving the school a lot of money after the principal stole food from the school.

Family Blue Harvest Trilogy
The Star Wars Parody Trilogy is brilliant, and George Lucas has a great sense of humor about his Star Wars films. Unlike Disney and Kathleen Kennedy because, let's face it, we won't see a parody of the Disney trilogy. I remember Chris asking Peter, "What about the Prequel trilogy, dad?" and Peter is like, "Uhh...The Cleveland Show will do those."
I can see that as a joke in an episode where someone asks if they were a Disney Trilogy parody, and Peter would say, "Ah, since were owned by Disney, now we can't do it. I mean, it would be funny to rip on those films, but unlike George Lucas. Kathleen Kennedy and Disney are too sensitive when it comes to criticizing their Star Wars films." Still, this trilogy spoof is so funny and has me laughing so hard.

Leggo my Meg-O
This was a parody of Taken, and it was both fun and messed up. Still, it was funny seeing Brian and Stewie in Paris.

Method to Madness
Method to Madness is funny, and considering its total fan service, if you think about it. Also, it's amusing how the old Peter Griffin doesn't hug back Dotty Dave's wife, but if it were the current version of Peter Griffin in this scene, he would hug back and love it. Also, Meg has a crush on the nudist family's son. Still, Peter and Lois disapprove until they realize that she likes Jeff, and they take off their clothes to make him feel welcome in their house. I laughed so hard that Qugamire walked in and saw Lois naked.

80's Guy
This episode is about how Peter's love for 80s films and shows is outdated and not funny. I feel for Peter. There's a lot of nostalgia we still love, but it's considered problematic by today's standards. I didn't like how Lois was portrayed in this episode, though, and she should have had a better understanding of why Peter loved the 80s. Still, the ending of the episode conveys a great message: even though the era we love is gone, it doesn't mean we have to forget it; instead, we should get out there and create our own 80s today. I still love '90s Disney animated films and 2000s films, and I still adore '90s movies and shows, regardless of the decade. It's a good message, but I feel like Lois, in the end, should have apologized to Peter, and he should have told her she was right and that he needs to let his 80s go and focus on making his own 80s today. Also, I would have Peter say to Lois, "And Lois, remember the shows and movies you love? In 20 years, they will be considered outdated and problematic." Lois's eyes widen, and Peter is back in the doghouse. And he says, "I don't get it. Bill Maher said it, and everyone agreed with him."

Halloween on Spooner Street
This was a funny episode on Halloween, and I find it amusing how they prank Quagmire, and he gets revenge on them.

Peter's Progress
This was a funny episode revealing that Peter was the real founder of Quahog. It makes more sense than a magic calm.

Three Directors
This episode was brilliant as it parodies Quintin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, and Michael Bay. The Michael Bay parody was the best, as it perfectly exemplifies Bay's style of filmmaking.

Cool Hand Peter
In this episode, Peter and the guys go on a road trip to New Orleans, only to be arrested by a corrupt sheriff. They escape, as they won't be returning home anytime soon. This episode was great, and the ending, particularly with Joe, was significant as he puts the sheriff in his place and tells him that he took an oath to protect and serve, not to harass anyone just because he wears a badge. It's a good message for cops out there.

and the Number One Best Family Guy Episode is...

1. Back to the Pilot
This was the best episode of Family Guy, and it does deal with a serious topic. However, if you know or don't know, Seth MacFarlane was supposed to be on one of the flights that hit the World Trade Center, but he missed his flight. To this day, he still shakes up about how he could have been on that plane. I can't blame him; I would feel the same way. Now, in this episode, Stewie and Brian go back in time, and they see what the show looked like back then in 1999, and it's hilarious. Also, Stewie warns Brian not to alter the past, as you know the old saying: changing the past can have terrifying results. However, Brian doesn't listen and tells the old Brian about 9/11. When they return, Brian is a national hero who stops 9/11. At first, Brian doesn't think it did anything wrong as he saved 3000 people, but it turns out it does. George Bush lost re-election in 2004, and he reformed the confederacy and declared a new civil war. Now, Bush wouldn't have done it if he had lost because I'm pretty sure he would have moved on with his life and focused on his ranch. Brian and Stewie, of course, go further into the future because Brian thinks everything will be fine, but no, it's only worse. It turns out the new American Civil War killed more than 17 million people, including Caesar Millan, which Brian freaks out as he loves Caesar.
Additionally, the family is no longer funny in this timeline.

So, they go back in time and stop it, but again, Brian tells the past Brian to take credit for Harry Potter. However, this doesn't make sense, as the first book was published in 1997, and this episode takes place in 1999, which makes no sense. So more craziness happens as multiple Stewies, and Brian tells them what the other did was wrong. Stewie tells everyone to go back to their time and stay there, and Stewie fixes it by treating them. They fixed the timeline, and Peter and the gang drank at the TV.
This was my favorite episode because it paid homage to the first episode, and it was funny when Brian and Stewie saw the family staring randomly during the cutaways.  To me, this is the best episode of Family Guy.

So, those are my top ten best Family Guy episodes.
Let me know what you think.
