The Brave and The Bold
Fan Cast and Ideas
After Superman, I might do a The Brave and The Bold Fan Cast and Ideas.
Batman is an essential character in the DCU, and I can't wait to see a proper Bat Family.
So here is my fan cast for The Brave and The Bold film, and later my ideas for what the film could be.
Brandon Sklenar as Bruce Wayne/Batman
For Batman, I picked Brandon Sklenn as my top choice for the role. I also love Alan Ritchson, but they should go with someone close to Superman's age. I'm good if they choose Alan. Also, the DCU Batman, I want him to have a longer crime-fighting career, like he's been fighting crime longer than Superman has; he's been fighting for about eight to ten years. He has the Bat family already established, and now he meets his son and wants to train him not to kill, like his mother wants him to. I also think they should include the death of Jason Todd arc, where Batman is still haunted by Jason's death, and he fears Damian could end up like him. I want to see Batman being a father and trying to set a good example to his son, like he did with Dick, Barbara, and Tim, but failed Jason Todd.
Damian was raised by the League of Assassins and was taught to kill until he met his father, Bruce Wayne, aka Batman. Damian becomes the new Robin, but Batman needs to teach him not to kill and teach him about teamwork.
Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth
Alfred will be in the film as a mentor to Bruce and a grandfather figure to Damian. He often tries to help both of them with their problems and gives Bruce advice about being a father. Nightwing will likely be in the film as someone who was taught by Bruce and became a hero in his own right after retiring the Robin mantle and becoming Nightwing. He would serve as older brother to Damain, and Damain would grow to respect Grayson as a brother in his life. I would love to see these two become the new Batman and Robin.
Sophia Lillis as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl
Barbara Gordon would be in the film as Batgirl, and she is concerned for Damian as Robin, as he's violent but, like Bruce, wants to teach him to be better. She also protects Gotham, but doesn't want her father to know she's Batgirl. As well, Barbara was shot by the Joker, but she recovered and has a scar to remind her of what happened that day.
I don't know if Tim Drake will be in the film, but I would put him in, as he and Damian have a strained relationship. They dislike one another. Tim was adopted by Bruce after his parents went under witness protection, and at first, Bruce didn't want Tim to become Robin after Jason's death, but Tim proved himself. Instead of becoming Robin, he decided to call himself Red Robin out of respect for Jason Todd. So there hasn't been a "Robin" since Jason's death.
Charlee Fraser as Talia Al Ghul
Talia Al Ghul would be in the film as both an antagonist and a love interest for Batman. It's revealed that Batman and Talia were romantically involved, and after a night of romance. Talia became pregnant and gave birth to their son. Now, Talia leaves her son in Bruce Wayne's care to get to know his father, and she also doesn't want Ra's to raise him.
Ethan Hawke as Jim Gordon
Jim Gordon could be in the film, and he is the commissioner of the GCPD and works with Batman. He doesn't know his daughter is Batgirl, and Bruce understands why Barbara does not want him to know. Nick Offerman as Harvey Bullock
Harvey Bullock would appear in the film drinking and hating Batman, but still respects him. I can see a scene where Robin mocks Harvey, and he says, "The last two were nicer, but this one and the other ones were little jerks."
Emily Rios as Renee Montoya
Renne would be in the film as a member of the GCPD and is dating Kate Kane, Bruce's cousin.
Courtney B. Vance as Lucious Fox
Lucious Fox, I can see being in the film as he designs Batman's equipment and helps him run Wayne Enterprises. He also has a son named Luke Fox, who is Batwing.
Henry Cavil as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
Deathstroke could be an antagonist in the film, and he wants to take over the League of Assassins from Ra's Al Ghul. Deathstroke would be a good first main villain for Batman to fight, like someone he can actually fight. I know recast Deathstroke with Henry Cavill, but Henry would be good as Deathstroke. His performance in The Witcher was proof of that.
Ra's Al Ghul would likely be in the film as he is Damian's grandfather, and he will likely be one of the villains of the film. His role would be that he's dying and wants an heir. He initially wanted it to be Batman, but he didn't want it. Now, he wants Damian to take over, but Talia doesn't want that for her son. So Ra's works with Deathstroke until Deathstroke reveals he wants to take over the League, to which Ra's doesn't want him to.
Joker would be in the film, and I know people would get sick of Joker, but after Joker 2, we need to do the character right. Joker would appear in the film in a flashback to him murdering Jason Todd, and in one scene, Batman and Robin confront him, and I would love to see the new Robin grab a crowbar and smack him with it for what he did to Jason Todd and Barbara Gordon, too. There could be a talk with Batman and Damian, and ask him why he doesn't kill the Joker. Batman explains his reasons, but Damian agrees with him but disagrees. It would be an interesting idea, and having Joker as an example of someone who deserves it, yet Batman won't kill him because he believes in the Justice system.
Jack Champion as Jason Todd/The Red Hood
Now, what would be an incredible setup is having a Red Hood cameo, and we see Jason Todd is alive again and has become the Red Hood. The next film should adapt Under the Red Hood because that is one of the greatest Batman stories.
Now here are my ideas for the Brave and the Bold.
10. Make Batman and Talia's romance minus the sexual assault.
Now, Batman and Talia have a long history with each other as lovers and enemies, but at one point, Talia raped Bruce. It's best to cut that out, and their romance is consensual. They had a romance and loved each other until things went to hell. She led her father's group, and Talia is still a villain in the film until the end, where she redeems herself. 9. The Bat Family Dynamic
The Bat Family is long overdue to appear together, and this film is the right way to do it. I want to see Batman working with them and helping them. This film needs to explore Batman as a mentor and a father figure. I don't want to see Batman alone again. We have The Batman films for that. The film could explore how he recruited the Bat family and why he loves them, but also worries for them, as he doesn't want them to go down a dark path.
8. Batman has been around longer than Superman.
Now, in the DCU, Superman has been around for three years, but Batman has been around longer. He's been fighting crime for about eight to ten years. Most of his rogues are established already, and he's already recruited the Bat family: Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Robin, and Catwoman. He had a romance with Catwoman, which was on and off, and he has many girlfriends too. Batman knows about Superman, but he doesn't see him as a threat, and he knows about other heroes. It could be mentioned that he's worked with Green Arrow, Flash, Black Canary, and Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern, whom he doesn't like. So he's been around for a while. I would also add he knows about Superman but doesn't view him as a threat and they could hint that he met Superman once and respects him. 7. How Jason's death still haunts him and how he doesn't want Damian to end up like him.
Now, in the film, I think we should still have Batman haunted by Jason's death, as it was his greatest failure. Batman fears his son could end up like him, and I like there to be a scene where they talk about Jason during an argument about the Joker and how Batman fears Damian will end up like him. Damain would come to his father's point and how he shouldn't be reckless or kill to solve his problems. Jason Todd would be set up to return in the future, as we know he's not dead, as Ra's brought him back to life.
I love to see Catwoman being Batman's love interest in a future film, but as long as they don't adapt that god awful Tom King storyline where she locked him in a vault naked. Also, if I were to cast Catwoman in the DCU, I would cast Ana De Armas.
She looks the part.
What Brave and the Bold will likely do is set up more spin-offs of each member of the Bat Family. Like Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, Red Robin, Red Hood, and many more. These spin-offs expand the DCU and the Batman lore of the DCU, as Gunn says, everyone has their own story going on.
4. Batman's rogues are already established but go with villains we haven't seen yet.
Batman's rogues should already be established, but they should focus on villains we haven't seen yet or were poorly represented in the '90s. I would love to see a proper Mr. Freeze, which we might get in The Batman Part 2. It's a rumor that Mr. Freeze will be the villain, but it's only a rumor, as there are other rumors like the Court of Owls will be in the film. The Batman films are still happening, even with Brave and the Bold. This means they could do villains that haven't been adapted yet, but different films could pick any villains they want, so everyone can be happy with seeing their favourite villain in either of the two Batman film franchises. 3. Deathstroke would be the main villain along with Ra's Al Ghul
Deathstroke is long overdue for a movie appearance. We almost got that with Joe Manganiello, but it never happened. Deathstroke would be a great first villain for Batman to fight, as he can fight Batman in combat, unlike most of his villains. The story could be that he wants to take over the League of Assassins, and Ra's actually considers it, but the two would clash over it, as Ra's wants Damian to take over when he comes of age. Brave and the Bold is adapting Grant Morrison, but they could add some elements of Shadow War to it. Also I would add Deathstroke in future projects like Nightwing as he is his arch enemy. 2. The film needs to give a proper comic accurate Batman.
It's time for a proper, accurate Batman who has a big cave with a T-Rex, and this Batman will fight aliens, magical creatures, and the supernatural. Let's stop with the grounded, realistic approach. Let's have more of fantasy, sci-fi, and supernatural with this Batman. Also, let's have Batman have white eye lenses; it's long overdue, and it can totally work.
This is proof it can work.
