The Punisher One Last Kill Review
So I saw The Punisher: One Last Kill, and here's my review. I loved it, like this was one of the best MCU projects I've seen, like it's only fifty minutes, but it is so good you want more. Let me tell you, Marvel really did a good job with doing a bloody R-rated project since Deadpool and Wolverine. The story is basically Frank returning as the Punisher after the events of Daredevil: Born Again Season One. I won't give too much away, but there are some hateable characters in this, and like some criminals kill a dog, and honestly, when Punisher gets that guy, it's satisfying because it's so awful how they kill that dog. Also, there are some sad moments like when Frank visits his family's grave, and I got to tell you, Jon Benthal does a fantastic job in that scene that I was moved, I almost cried. Also love this one scene, a father protecting his family from some thugs, because let me tell ya, the street Frank lives on is one of the worst streets ever to live on. When you see Frank Castle back in action it's awesome. The cast all did a great job especially Jon Benthal he was born to play Punisher. As well the action scenes were great and it was on the same level with John Wick.
This is a great fifty-minute film. I hope we get a TV series or a film. I love this short; I give it a 10 out of 10.
Now I want to talk about this and say Punisher was never a problematic character. The problem was that certain people were using the character's symbol for political statements. Even Gerry Conway has called out people for using the symbol like that, stating it violates the character's purpose as a critique of the justice system.
Frank Castle is one of the most violent and tragic characters in Marvel, but despite his ways, he does own up to his actions and takes responsibility for them. Besides, there are other characters like Wolverine, Black Widow, Elektra, Deadpool, Ghost Rider, Winter Solder, and Venom that have killed just as much as Punisher has and done worse. That's just how anti-heroes are written unlike superheroes.
In this comic, he calls out some cops for using his symbol as a police symbol. He doesn't want them to look up to him because he's not a good role model. Let's face it Punisher is not a good role model for stuff like that.
I'm looking forward to seeing Punisher again in Spider-Man Brand New Day. Punisher was never problematic, and I’m glad Marvel is realizing that now.
