Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest Review. Celebrating 20 years of this film.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Dead Man's Chest
Review
Celebrating 20 years of this film.

We all remember this film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, the sequel to The Curse of the Black Pearl. This film was a great sequel; it had so much action, adventure, and who doesn't love Jack Sparrow? There are so many memes from this movie now.
Jack Sparrow returns for another adventure, and it's always fun watching him.
I thought it was funny that Will sees him, he's like, " Let's go.
The film takes place after the first, with Will and Elizabeth's wedding interrupted by Lord Cutler Beckett's arrests. Jack owes a debt to Davy Jones, captain of the Flying Dutchman. Will searches for Jack to help free Elizabeth, who later escapes with her father's help. Jack, meanwhile, becomes the chief of cannibals who believe he is a god trapped in a mortal's body, which leads to humorous moments.
Now, Davy Jones is one of the best villains in this series, played by Bill Nighy, who was terrifying and also a good, sympathetic villain.  Davy Jones and his crew were very frightening and creative too, like I love how they look like sea creatures, and it's great CGI.
Lets face it the CGI back in 2006 is a masterpiece compared to today's cgi like this...

The Kraken was really cool, but it is a terrifying creature, especially in this scene.
Now, of course, two of the pirates, Ragetti and Pintel, return. These two were the funniest duo in the films, and it's sad we didn't see them again in the other two films. We've seen the meme you get credit for trying.
It was especially funny with the prison dog. I remember when the dog got left behind. I was sad for it, but then we learned it had survived and become the chief of the island, and later went to the pirate council, revealing it was Jack Sparrow's dad dog.
Later, Jack and Will meet Tia, who tells them the story of the Dead Man's Chest and of Davy Jones and the woman he loved. Tia, a compelling character, also reveals that the key to the chest is on the Flying Dutchman.

In the film, Will is captured by the Flying Dutchman, meets his father, and wants to free him. Elizabeth reunites with James Norrington, who has lost everything, and they join the Black Pearl. Norrington, one of the best characters, is in the film. When he joins the crew, it's funny—Elizabeth hits him with a bottle, then later helps him, feeling bad but needing to save him.
I also love the scenes with Will and his dad, Bill Bootstrap. I love the scene where Bill saves Will from becoming Davy Jones's slave.
Now, the film had great action scenes, like the duel between Jack, Will, and Norington, which was both fun and really funny. These three actors were just so funny having a fight and just arguing too. Also, I find it funny when Nortington sacrifices his life for them and takes the Dead Men’s Chest. They all look, and Jack says, "Let’s honor his wishes," and they just leave without hesitation.
Now, in the film, they all learn about the Dead Man's Chest, which has the heart of Davy Jones, but if you stab the heart, your heart must take its place. Dead Man's Chest was a great sequel, and the cast did a great job. This was a great follow-up to the first film. Also, the ending with Jack sacrificing his life to save everyone, even though Elizabeth kisses him, and Will sees that. I don't blame Will for being mad in the next film, but they do end up together in the end.
Also, the twist at the end of Davy Jones's Heart in the chest, and we thought it was in the jar of dirt, but no, Norington had stolen the heart and gave it to Cutler.
The ending, where Barbossa returns, was unexpected. Fun Fact: It was rumored that Anamaria was supposed to lead them to World's End, but Zoe Saldana didn't return to the films because she wasn't working on them. Still, that was a good twist in the end.
I enjoy this film very much; it's a good sequel, and the cast did a great job. I give this film an 8 out of 10.
