What I want to see in the next Superman film and Don't want to see. Spoilers.

What I want to see in the Superman sequel and don't want to see.

After seeing Superman, here's what I want to see in the next film and what I don't want to see, because we saw how Man of Steel failed after they made a sequel, well, it's more of a Justice League film, part one. Now, here's what I want to see in the next Superman film.

7. Let's see different Kryptonite in future films.

Now that we know Kryptonite is the only thing that can kill Superman, I'd love to see different types of it used in films, too. We saw green in this film; let's check out the others and see what they do to Superman.

6. I want to see John Henry Irons aka Steel in the next film.

I'd like to see John Henry Irons in the next film, but maybe not until they do a proper Death and Return of Superman. However, I'm okay with them introducing John earlier. He could help Superman battle whatever villain he faces in the next film. It would be cool to include Krypton tech that helps his armor go out. Seeing John Henry would set up more of the Superman family.

5. More Action
Now I forgot to mention another thing I didn't like about the film was that there wasn't enough action in it. In the next movie, I'm looking forward to more action scenes, but overall, the fight scenes with Superman were great still need more action scenes.

4. A team up with Supergirl which they are likely doing.
With the Supergirl film coming out next year, I definitely can see them having Supergirl in the next movie. I'm unsure how the Supergirl film will turn out, but after seeing the movie, we already know Supergirl is on Earth and partying on different planets with red suns. However, she could reveal to Clark that Brainiac was the one who destroyed their planet and they find out he is coming to earth at the end of the Supergirl film, that would be a good set the stage for Superman 2 with Brainiac or they could do a storyline with Kara gets captured by Mongul and Superman has to go and save her along with Krypto, Lois Lane, and Steel. We could get a Superman film, we're seeing him fight even without a yellow sun to help him. I would love to see him go full beast mode on Mongul like he did in the animated series.

3. Connor Kent aka Superboy in the future.
I would love to see Connor Kent, aka Superboy, in a future film, and he's a clone of both Superman and Lex Luthor. Since the movie revealed Ultra-Man is a clone of Superman, this sets up the stages to introduce Connor Kent, aka Superboy. It would be a cool idea to explore with Superman, helping his clone son, while Lex wants him to be the Superman he envisions. It could also set up a Young Justice project.

3. Brainiac as the main villain in the next film.
I've spoken for years about wanting to see Brainiac in a Superman film because he's one of Superman's most formidable enemies, responsible for Krypton's destruction and the collection of a city from there. It's time for Brainiac's big screen debut, and I think the second film should make him the villain. He could be the Joker of Superman films, similar to how Joker was portrayed in the Dark Knight Trilogy. If I were to cast Brainiac, I would either cast Michael Fassbender, Chukwudi Iwugbue, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Michael C Hall, or Adam Driver. Also if I were to go with another villain I would say Mongul would be a good choice too.
For Mongul I would cast either Dave Bautista, Richard Armitage, Gerald Butler, Ron Perlman, Michael C Hall or Djmon Hounsou.

2. Adapt Geoff Johns Brainiac storyline
As mentioned before, the Brainiac storyline by Geoff Johns would be a great follow-up film. Having Superman face off against Brainiac would just be epic, and it could be the Dark Knight or Winter Soldier of DCU films if done right. I trust Gunn 100 percent if he chooses this storyline.

1. Let the second film set up the Justice League properly in the DCU.
Gunn has confirmed there is no Justice League yet, but there will be. I hope the second film sets that up. Although Gunn has stated that each character in their own movie has their own story, I still want them to set up a proper Justice League film. We're getting the animated series roster. After hearing some news, it looks like a Justice League film is in the works now. Although the end credit scenes didn't have a set-up for the sequel or a Justice League film, they got something planned.
I really hope they give us a proper Justice League that's something out of the old animated series.

Heres what I don't want to see in the next film.

6. Don't have other heroes outside the Superman mythos, focus more on the Superman Family

After the Justice Gang, the characters were great, and I want to see more of those guys. Still, in the next films, they should not feature any other superheroes outside of Superman lore, and by that, they should introduce more of the Superman family instead.

5. Don't have Batman but if you do a team up make it's own film franchise like Gunn said a World's Finest film.

I love the idea of Batman and Superman teaming up, but I also want it to be its own franchise, like a World's Finest film series, which Gunn has hinted at. I don't want to repeat the mistakes made with BVS. It would be better to see these two characters team up in a World's Finest film series, rather than having one of them guest star, I rather they not rush to get Justice League, but take their time with it. From what I gather, the Batman of the DCU is set to first appear in Brave and the Bold, and not in any other series. Even though we had that cameo in Creature Commandos, that was different; it was just Batman in the shadows. Make the Superman films stand alone, and I know we had the Justice Gang, but that didn't work because they focused mainly on Superman and not them.

4. Don't interduce Jon Kent yet

We'll see Jon Kent in the future, but please don't rush it. Introducing him in the third film might be a good idea, and they could age him up, but make sure he's around the same age as Damian Wayne for a Super Sons idea. Just don't look at Tom Taylor's run.

3. Don't rush to get Death and Return of Superman until the third or fourth film.

Now I'm unsure if Gunn will ever adapt Death and Return, as he can introduce Connor Kent without Superman's death. However, if they do adapt Death and Return, it needs to be a later film because I do have a feeling Gunn might want to adapt different Superman stories we haven't seen. Let's face it, BVS really messed it up, and the animated two-part film was fantastic, providing a better understanding of the story. I'd like to see a proper Death and Return, but not for a couple of years, like Superman 3 or 4.

2. Don't ever sideline Superman
I know they won't since Superman was the primary focus of the entire film, and even I know Gunn won't sideline his main characters for some co-lead. I hope they don't follow the trend of sidelining the main character for a co-lead, as seen in the MCU and other media entertainment.

1. Don't kill Krypto!
Let's all agree that Krypto was one of the best things in the film. If that dog dies, we will riot because it would be too heartbreaking if Krypto is killed off in a future movie.

So that's what I want to see in the next Superman film and Don't want to see in the next film.
